This campsite was AMAZING! We came in mid-October for our anniversary and will absolutely be back in the Spring.

Lovely place, owners are extremely accommodating. Right next to river. Big fire pit, nice pavilion and the cabins are cute.

Eagle's Nest Campground - Our Playground

Eagle's Nest Campground

We had the pleasure of staying at Eagle's Nest as organizers for our motorhome rally in May 2019…read more Paul was wonderful in helping plan the rally, and throughout the course of the event. We found all the staff at Eagle's Nest to be very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. We had about 15 rigs, and rented one cabin. Paul placed us in sites very near each other, and close to the pavilion which perfectly met our needs for the event. The pavilion near the creek, with electricity, lighting, a nearby restroom, and running water, was a great set-up for our group meetings and meals. Paul even set up a fire ring near the pavilion for our evening campfire and music. The camp facilities were very clean and level, with full services at each site. The restaurant on site (Fireside Inn) has an extensive menu. Try the cauliflower soup ... it is FABULOUS. Eagles Nest is conveniently located near Cumberland, MD - a great local tourism spot with museums, shops, restaurants, and a scenic railroad ride. The campground is still a work in progress and we look forward to going back to see how it is coming along. Paul has a great vision for further improvements and is working hard toward that end. With a mix of seasonal and transient residents, most in self-contained units, there is little need for public facilities. Some in our group might have preferred a public bathhouse (in future development plan), but the lack of a public bathhouse would not prevent our return. Happy trails ...

We had a great experience at Eagle's Nest September 2019, our 39th annual 'Rolling Thunder' rally. The camping, accommodations, food and entertainment were some of the best we have enjoyed. I enjoyed flyfishing on Patterson Creek, on the banks of which I pitched my tent. The Club had a great time and we will surely return in the future. Thanks Paul, et. al.! John T. Although there were mixed reviews for the Cove online we went ahead and booked for this past…read moreweekend, July 6-8, 2018. There is no running water at the sites, at least the sites we had, which were Camp 7, sites 6 & 7. There is a very close permanent structure porta-potti which was kept very clean. There is water available and showers at the main office and the other camps which are a few minutes by car. Keeping that in mind and preparing your weekend for that will prevent any issues. From the moment we arrived, the employees were welcoming and very helpful. The main office is staffed through midnight and they have wood and ice for sale and helped with any questions. The people that commented on bad customer service must have been mistaken because everyone we dealt with was fantastic. From a camping standpoint, our site was almost perfect. There was some broken glass from prior campers which we tried to clean as good as we could, but besides that minor issue, the sites were perfect. Heavily wooded, next to one of the smaller lakes, and beautiful. In addition to camping, the grounds have a very nice kept beach front on the bigger lake, tons of picnic tables, a beach volleyball area, and a dock. They have a shooting range on the property, but be mindful that you absolutely need an SUV or 4 x 4 to get to the range. They also rent canoes and flat bottom row boats which is great. We had a great time fishing from the shores and the boats. The main lake area is a perfect place to hang out on the grass, go for a swim, or fish during the day. It was an amazing weekend and we couldn't have asked for more from the campground. Because they have so much property, our campsite was extremely private and when we didn't have the radio playing, it was nothing but wilderness noises all night long. We will absolutely be going back this season.

I brought my son and his friends here to camp and fish for his 11th birthday. Prior to the trip, I…read morespoke with Willis on the phone about staying for a single night, and he recommended I reserve a lakefront site. However, upon arrival, we were suddenly told there was a two-night minimum. When I explained I wasn't informed of this during my call, the staff became incredibly rude and unprofessional, blaming me for not checking their poorly updated website. They threatened to deny us service entirely unless we paid for the full weekend. As other reviewers state they are extremely rude and could care less if you stayed or not! I even offered to forfeit our $40 deposit and just pay as a one-night walk-up, but they refused, falsely claiming they were 'fully booked.' In reality, there was only one other family in the entire campground. To make matters worse, the bathhouses were so dirty that the boys opted to use the woods instead. While the scenery is truly beautiful, the terrible customer service and deceptive practices mean I will be taking my money elsewhere.
