We found all the staff at Eagle's Nest to be very pleasant, friendly and accommodating. We had about 15 rigs, and rented one cabin. Paul placed us in sites very near each other, and close to the pavilion which perfectly met our needs for the event. The pavilion near the creek, with electricity, lighting, a nearby restroom, and running water, was a great set-up for our group meetings and meals. Paul even set up a fire ring near the pavilion for our evening campfire and music. The camp facilities were very clean and level, with full services at each site. The restaurant on site (Fireside Inn) has an extensive menu. Try the cauliflower soup ... it is FABULOUS. Eagles Nest is conveniently located near Cumberland, MD - a great local tourism spot with museums, shops, restaurants, and a scenic railroad ride. The campground is still a work in progress and we look forward to going back to see how it is coming along. Paul has a great vision for further improvements and is working hard toward that end. With a mix of seasonal and transient residents, most in self-contained units, there is little need for public facilities. Some in our group might have preferred a public bathhouse (in future development plan), but the lack of a public bathhouse would not prevent our return. Happy trails ...

We had a great experience at Eagle's Nest September 2019, our 39th annual 'Rolling Thunder' rally. The camping, accommodations, food and entertainment were some of the best we have enjoyed. Once a week on Tuesdays they send around a service that pumps it out for you. They have water and electric to each site except the tent sites. The bath houses are cleaned everyday and are in good working condition. My only complaint is the non functioning laundry room but there is a laundromat within a mile of the campground. The staff is friendly and helpful and the store is fully stocked with all campers may need and then some. When touring Washington DC and all the battlefields this place is centrally located. We stayed a month and still didn't see it all. We'll be staying here again when in the area.

I called to make arrangements and was told that I needed to submit an application that is reviewed and approved by the owner before I can rent a site. I asked what was on the application. Apparently they need to know your salary, prior criminal record and other stuff that is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. As a retired LEO, I have no criminal record. But even if I did, nobody should have to qualify for a security clearance to rent a damn camping site!

There was excessive screaming, loud music, and disruptive behavior that continued well past midnight, making it extremely difficult for families and young children to enjoy the holiday weekend. Even more concerning was the apparent lack of response to enforce quiet hours or address the ongoing noise issue. This does not reflect the family atmosphere many guests would reasonably expect during a holiday weekend. I strongly encourage management to take these complaints seriously and enforce campground rules consistently to ensure all guests can enjoy their stay. Families considering visiting during Easter weekend should be aware that this has been an ongoing issue.

The camp host was very active throughout the day and gave great local recommendations. Negatives - you can't really see the river due to the grass and trees. It also says you can fish, which you can as long as you can make it down an incredibly steep embankment but there was not really a place to stand comfortably to fish and at least at site 5 there are quite a bit of rocks in the way. There was also a ton of little moths and gnats. Even with a fire the bugs made it unbearable to enjoy our time. Setting up and packing up was horrible. We understand bugs exist in nature but they were flying in our hair, mouth, nose, nothing worked to get rid of them. Also, the camp sites are just yards from a somewhat busy road. A few times people drove by and purposefully rev'd their engines. We could also hear a train in the distance going in the middle of the night. Maybe a different time of year would make all the difference regarding the annoying bugs but may is not it.

Thats how 7 friends and I felt when we were planning our weekend trip to Berkeley Springs (well, maybe we weren't that dramatic). I can't speak for all of the properties, but SLEEPY RIDGE HIDEAWAY was a dream come true! A small full kitchen with bedrooms to sleep 8 people and two bathrooms. Inside we had a wood burning stove which was great on a cool rainy evening. Outside there was a screened in porch and a back deck. There was a fire pit where which we made use of regularly! A game room with air hockey and shuffleboard. But the best part....a hot tub!!! And yes we fit 8 people in there! This cabin also had a nice trail down a hill to the creek below which was very serene and was a 10 minute drive to good hiking trails. If you need to get away...check out berkely springs and all the cabins they have to offer....ours was about $45 per person for the weekend!

We couldn't watch the 10 minute video because they were closing due to no activity. We drove over to the parking lot for the actual fort. The Fort was still open but unmanned so the interior buildings were locked. The Fort was built in 1756 for the Indian wars against the white settlement. It was later used in Revolutionary war and Civil War. It's almost 300 yrs old It's a stone fort with very thick high walls. Definitely a nice park. There is a store but it was closed too. There is a campground down along the Potomac River. Definitely recommend you visit when in the area. I would go back again! A great price!!!

The river was relaxing, the views were gorgeous, and the whole day just felt easy and fun. A huge shoutout to Spider, our guide, who truly went above and beyond. Not only did he keep the energy high with great vibes and a friendly attitude, but he also made sure everyone was safe and accounted for throughout the float. We noticed him picking up trash along the way. So awesome to see someone taking care of the river and setting a great example. He really cared about both the people and the environment. Everything is very clean and well tended to! Probably the cleanest campground we've ever been to. Mark, the owner, is very helpful, thorough, and takes great pride in Camp Cacapon. Although nothing bit them. No one that was fishing yesterday caught anything. Oh well on to the next lake.
