They were always very accommodating, prompt and were able to quote the job over the phone every time with very reasonable prices. I went in today to replace the lock on my Thule cargo box. I had broken the key off in the lock and furthered messed it up by trying to pull it out myself. Kyle spent 20 minutes fishing the key out and then replacing the lock cylinder. For all of that work he only charged $20. I told him I thought that wasn't enough but he insisted. I was really impressed with the effort he put into fixing the lock and his integrity in sticking to his price even though the work ended up being a lot more than expected. My front door lock was jammed. Called them to make an appointment the following morning. Steve came on time, did a thorough inspection to make sure all the bases are covered. He said he's been doing this since the 1970's. I think they are honest, knowledgeable, and reasonably priced. I have been doing business with this guy for over 30 years . I drop off my vintage safe to get cracked open because I lost the combination . I left him a voice mail the next day ,I took him that I change my mind and not to open it . I went back a few weeks later , He told me he sold my safe and refused to pay me for it . Terrrible service. I went in at 9:00 and waited for 20 -25 minutes. Got up to the counter, and handed over my keys, an specifically told the guy I'd be back at 4:00 to pick them up. He took my name and phone number. Came back at 4:00, waited in line for another 20 minutes, and when I got to the counter, it became apparent the guy had just dropped my keys the moment I walked out the door. He then had to research the keys (another 10 minutes), only to find that he did not have the blank for one, even though I had told him the make and model of the car. So, after spending two trips and a total of an hour in his store, with him not even having started on my keys, I was not going to give this man my business. I asked for my keys back, and he said, "you never told me you were in a rush!" The gall, after chewing up at least 1:30 and probably more like 2:00 if I include travel of my time. Definitely needs to work on his customer service skills. read more

I lost the key to my motorcycle sidecar. I was able to pick the lock open. I went on the internet and found a lock that might fit. The dimensions were correct. Total cost was about $20.00 with 2 keys included. I was driving by Keylo locksmiths and dropped by just to see what they could offer. The guy behind the counter looked at it. I said maybe I should just replace the guts of the lock. He said to just get a new key made. He quoted me about $20.00. I go for it. I drop in the next day and he says it was more difficult than he figured and needed more time. About a week later he calls and tells me it's done and says it's $27.50. I get there. Another guy comes out and says it was $36.16. He said the other guy forgot to add the cost for the keys. He said he had to take out one of the pins. The solder doesn't fit the cut he made to remove the pin. I tell him I should have just changed the guts. He says it wouldn't work. I then tell him I was originally quoted $20. The Good: My replacement door key for the Prius works. The Bad: It took 4 tries, much lubricant, a pair of pliers, and 35 minutes to get it done. And my $125 electronic entry key now has plier grooves in it forever. I was less that impressed with the experience. read more

They came out to my house today to fix my lock after one of our keys broke off in our Baldwin lock. I called them in the morning and they called me back an hour later for an appointment. Great customer service. I went in to have an extra key made and then spoke to Richard about getting a deadbolt installed. Kyle and Steve showed up on time the day of the installation, but discovered that the hardware store where I purchased the deadbolt did not include a special piece needed for thinner doors. Kyle and Steve told me what to purchase and were not upset that they came all the way over and had to leave without doing the job. The second time they came out and set up their equipment again. The hardware store had sold me a "goof ring" which wasn't what I asked for. This time Kyle called the hardware store and explained that they had been out here twice and needed a specific ring for the deadbolt. The hardware store apologized and put the part on hold for me to pick up. Well, today was their third trip and success! They setup with drop cloths, completed the installation and vacuumed afterwards. They did a wonderful job and were so polite and friendly! Just had a great experience with this guy. Richard Strebel, the proprietor, is an old school locksmith and knows a lot about safes and even collects them. We tried to open an antique safe and it got stuck. He came right over, showed me how it was stuck and how to use it, opened it right up, and told me some more things I can do to fix it. He also told me it's a collectible item (all 2500 lbs of it!) that I may be able to sell to someone who wants to move it. Plus, he took his time, was very friendly, and charged a reasonable price.
