We did not hire a locksmith, however Eldon Mcmichael came to our home with one of his family members when I was not home. The family member does not reside at the household. The renters who live here watched him take off the lock, make a mold, and copy a key for our front door. This is both unprofessional and unethical, not to mention against the law. If he can do it here who's to say he wouldn't do it at your home. If I could give him zero Stars I would. A police report will be filed.​ read more

I went here to get a backup key made for our subcompact Kyoti tractor. We hadn't had any luck with the hardware stores' attempts at making us a copy. The hardware store keys wouldn't even fit in the ignition. But I have to say, the guys here at Keyhole studied the key for a bit, checked a couple of blanks, & made the key. He wasn't absolutely sure it would work since the original keys to the tractor are flimsy aluminum & we wanted a more solid metal key. The original aluminum key broke off in the ignition, and we ended up having to pay a tractor mechanic to come out to our property to replace the whole ignition switch. First, Everybody's very nice & I got out of here in 10 minutes. Second , let me share a vital piece of information with you that I just learned- if your car is one of those newfangled push button engine start stop types which do not engage the ignition with a key, your little electronic fob is programmed to start that sucker even if the battery on the fob die & you have to figure out how to pry the emergency key out. you just touch i the fob to the START button and you can still start your car even if you have had to use the manual key in the outdoor lock. The gentleman here at keyhole locksmith were kind enough to explain this to me when I finally got in here to get my dumb battery replaced. Yes I could buy one at the dollar store and do it myself but this is A 10 year old car and I don't want to crack the plastic or screw it up. It was well worth my eight dollars to have someone else do it right. I also went ahead and coughed up the 200 bucks to order a new fob because if I lose this one I'm screwed. The dealership would've charged me $300 for a new one, (of course the car only came with one, ) here it's $230 & they call me back. And there's even a public bathroom! I'd say keyhole locksmith is my new favorite place to shop for all of my locksmith needs. read more

Pretty sad they have to make a copy of the key with proof of ownership. I tried calling to have a copy of the key made and have my cousin to get it done but the guy said "we need proof of ownership." I offered my cousin to bring with her the title and a copy of my insurance with and I'll have them video call proof for ID. Still said NO! I work an hour away and when they close is the time I'm getting off. Can I go to Home Depot and do the same thing? Yes Do I want to go there? No because mother key that broke didn't last more than 4 months So I really don't know what the guys problem was but he surely lost a customer. I feel guilty, yet morally obligated, to leave this review. Let me tell you why you should absolutely not use this lockout service (for your car, at least-- I have no experience using them for any other locks/doors). I am not proud to admit that I locked myself out of my car twice within the span of one week... long story. This led me to use two different locksmiths on the same car in a short span of time, and here was how THAT went down. This locksmith service was awwwwful. First, I was told it would take 10-15 minutes for the locksmith to arrive (after I was persuaded to use this particular service particularly because of how supposedly speedy it was) and then, within five minutes of confirming my appointment, I was told it would take an additional ten minutes. Not the end of the world, but not off to a good start. The next 45 minutes were worse. First of all, I told the locksmith that my friend had already tried a slim-jim and that there was a protective box around that part of the lock, but we wasted 5-10 minutes trying those out on both the passenger and driver's side door. Then, the locksmith refused to listen to my coworker and me when we told her that it wouldn't work to press the unlock button because of the security/protection feature in my car, and we were going to have to pull up on the little nob itself. But we wasted another 5 minutes on either door there, too... and damaged the seals of my door stabbing at it in a way it would obviously not go. But wait! It gets worse. The locksmiths husband calls and then they get into a marital spat over the phone, her saying "Why are you cussing me out? If you think you can do better, then you come do it!" So he does, and he tries everything she tried, and it took a lot longer. Eventually I got cold and went to sit in my boyfriend's car, but I did get to hear him yelling at her and waving his arms around frantically, which wasn't fun for me at all. I've been exposed to more than enough violence and anger in my life, and it makes me anxious as a result. Eventually, at least 45 minutes after I arrived, the husband managed to get in through the back door using the tools in "a way they weren't originally supposed to be used." I was in my boyfriend's car at this point, so I didn't see what happened, but I would not be even remotely surprised if this unorthodox method was hard on my car. The husband gave me a $5 discount "for the wait," bringing my total to $45. Fast forward one week, and I go to a DIFFERENT locksmith (Lane Lock and Key) and here's how THAT went down; the guy arrived exactly on time and opened my car in under FORTY FIVE SECONDS FLAT. Not kidding. I don't even feel comfortable having supported this obviously unhealthy and inexperienced couple. Individually, they seemed like nice enough people, but they seriously need to get their crap together, obviously personally as well as professionally; don't be bringing your marital issues into your business. It's unprofessional even if your customers don't have PTSD... but you don't know who has it and who doesn't. Hopefully you can use this as a wake-up call, but you'll probably just fight about it if what I witnessed was any indication about the health of your relationship. read more

I lost the key to my small book safe during a recent move. Over the weekend, my husband and friend offered to help me break into it using a screwdriver and various other tools. I hated to see my trusty old safe butchered and broken, so I decided to pop in to the lock shop yesterday just before they closed to see if they could help me out. There were at least 5 guys behind the counter and they all seemed to be ready and willing to help me out. After about 10-15 minutes of working on my safe, right at the counter, they had it unlocked. We moved into a home with a private mailbox that we don't have a key to. The gentleman at Keyhole who I spoke to on the phone gave me two options to begin with: he asked if I wanted to hear a method that is cheaper but requires work on my end or a method where they do all the work for a little more. I asked for the former and he gave me detailed instructions on how to drill out the lock on my own, then I can just bring in the lock and get a replacement for a very reasonable price.
