I'm updating our previous review of "Not Good" to "Ok" because Keyes Lexus actually took back the car we bought, and refunded our down-payment. Despite being advertised as a "smoke free car", the car was actually full of nicotine odor. The sales guys had tried to sell it to us as if they only just then noticed the problem, when first complained about it, before taking possession. While we waited, and filled out paperwork, they put the car through some kind of 3-hour cleaning, and even then there was a residual smell of nicotine. They assured us that it would fade quickly, so.. we kept the car. The next day, in our garage, it was just as bad as ever: nicotine smell everywhere. We got a local guy to come and fumigate and clean the car, but he warned us that the nicotine had likely permeated the overhead insulation and would be practically impossible to remove the nicotine smell without completely re-furbishing the interior. We contacted Keyes Lexus and got stone-walled, after which we reported this problem in Yelp. Fortunately, the general manager contacted us and after a small bit of discussion, he agreed to take back the car, and refund our down payment. So, good on him for owning the quality of his product. I might possibly do business with Keyes again, but I would check everything before plopping down any money. read more

On Nov 5, 2025, I purchased a 2024 Lexus ES300h from Keyes Lexus. During the purchase process, I worked with a sales representative named Ali, along with another staff member. During our discussions, I specifically asked about oil change service for the vehicle. I was informed that an oil change would be provided at no cost and that it could be performed at any Lexus dealership. I clearly explained that I would be driving the vehicle to San Francisco and confirmed multiple times whether the oil change could be completed there. Each time, I was told that it would not be a problem. However, when I later visited Putnam Lexus in San Francisco, I was informed that there was no complimentary oil change or service package associated with my vehicle in their system. I then contacted Keyes Lexus several times to seek clarification. Although I was told that the finance department would create a record and follow up with me, more than a week has passed without any response or resolution. Reaching someone who could take responsibility has been extremely difficult. This experience has been disappointing. While the sales process was friendly and reassuring, the lack of follow-up and accountability after the purchase has been frustrating. I reached out to this Lexus dealership about a specific, hard-to-find vehicle I saw listed as "in transit" a week ago. I spoke with a salesperson on the phone who asked me if I am aware of it's rarity and that vehicles like this one would come with a markup and asked if I would be willing to pay it. I acknowledged the vehicle's rarity and possible markup, and asked to be contacted when it arrived so we could discuss pricing in person. A week later, he called to say the vehicle had arrived. Trusting that he remembered the car we discussed, my husband and I drove 40 minutes to the dealership. Upon arrival, we were shown a completely different color than what we had talked about. He seemed confused and tried to pitch the incorrect vehicle instead. When we declined, he handed us off to his sales manager, who had a dismissive attitude and told me, "then it's not the car for you" when I expressed interest in seeing the actual vehicle before committing to a purchase. Between the lack of communication, the unhelpful staff, and the wasted trip, this experience was disappointing and frustrating. I came into Keyes Lexus of Van Nuys excited to test drive the new 2025 GX 550. The sales rep who assisted me during the test drive was great courteous and knowledgeable. That's where the good part ends. When it came time to talk numbers, everything changed. I had already shared that I have excellent credit (770+), but they came back with a preliminary 8.49% APR and a monthly payment that made zero sense even with $10K down over a 72-month term. To make matters worse, the advertised price of $72,743 (which I had a screenshot of) was suddenly ballooned to $93K, with a vague explanation about "market value." They tried to make it look like I was getting a "$12K discount," but even that brought the price down only to $84K -- still $11K above what was advertised. I voiced my concern and showed them the online listing, but instead of working with me, they doubled down. The so-called sales manager came out pushing the same "hot SUV" narrative. I wasn't buying it literally. Another manager was brought in to convince me, but at that point, I'd had enough. I got up, told them I wouldn't be paying that kind of markup or rate, and left. To his credit, the manager called later saying he'd personally handle the deal and work on the price and financing. But by then, it was too little, too late. I had already test driven a 2024 Chevy Tahoe High Country at Community Chevrolet of Burbank. Moises there treated me with respect, offered clear pricing, and didn't play games. I walked away with a beautiful Tahoe MSRP $84K I purchased for $79,500 and 6.47% financing with $10K down. Transparent, honest, and smooth. Unfortunately, Keyes Lexus of Van Nuys left me feeling like I was caught in a bait-and-switch trap. No luxury brand should treat a serious buyer this way especially one with excellent credit and cash to put down. I chose American-made and real customer service instead. Only reason the 2nd star is there is cause the inexperienced salesman was really nice lol but he does not negotiate well at all. We scheduled an appointment days in advance to see a specific 2021 Lexus ES 300h -- a car that was prominently advertised and confirmed to be available. After driving a long distance to purchase the vehicle, we were told upon arrival that the vehicle was suddenly in negotiations. No deposit, no contract, and supposedly with someone who doesn't even live in the state. Yet somehow, the car was no longer available. The sales team spent more time trying to upsell us on newer models we had no interest in, than we spent talking about the car we came to see. The entire experience felt orchestrated and dishonest. I wouldn't be surprised if that same car is still "available" on their website weeks from now. To make matters worse, multiple managers promised to follow up to "get to the bottom of it." Unsurprisingly, no one ever called, and our texts were left unanswered. If I could give zero stars, I would. This was a complete waste of time and an insult to our intelligence. read more

Dishonest Dealership -- Beware I purchased a 1-year-old CERTIFIED Lexus ES300h online from this dealership. All paperwork was completed digitally, and the car was delivered to me. Most communication took place via text. Upon delivery, the vehicle had a strong smoke odor inside and visible scratches on the body. I had specifically asked if there were any imperfections, and they denied it in writing (text messages saved). After delivery, I made three separate trips to the dealership based on the salesperson's recommendation to have the issues addressed -- but each time, the so-called "repair guy" was unavailable. Even worse, while I requested financing through Lexus Financial, the dealership ran my credit through multiple banks without my consent and ultimately submitted the loan through Capital One. To make matters worse, they provided false information to lenders to push the loan through. This dealership's conduct is dishonest, unethical, and far below Lexus' standards of integrity and service. They will be reported to the California DMV (Occupational Licensing Division) for dealer misconduct and to the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) for false representation of financial information. When I spoke with the sales manager, he didn't deny any of this -- he simply said, "you signed the agreement." Typical response from a dealership more focused on hitting sales quotas than honoring the Lexus brand or treating customers honestly. Avoid this dealership . read more

We went in yesterday and worked with Adnan, who was absolutely wonderful -- this review is NOT about him. The problem started the moment we sat with the manager to discuss "out-the-door" pricing. Anyone who has ever bought a car knows that OTD means the final total -- tax, fees, everything included. The manager took a long time and finally presented a number. We felt it was too far apart, so we left. Later that day, we reconsidered and decided we could make that number work. We called back, said we'd bring a check in the morning, and were willing even to sign paperwork that night. Suddenly, they claimed the price did NOT include tax. That is flat-out deceptive. Every dealership on earth knows what "out-the-door" means. Changing the terms after the fact is manipulative, unprofessional, and a complete waste of a buyer's time. However... the manager John was a complete douche. Extremely arrogant and cocky-unwilling to help and of course he used the "it's not personal it's just business" literally the worse sales catch phrase in the history of sales lol. We took the car anyway...I think we got a decent deal however John's attitude really makes this place look bad, his lack of customer service almost had us walk out luckily the salesperson was the complete opposite and won us over. Came to this dealership based on an add on the internet for two certified Lexus cars. The first car had damage to the rims. The driver side rear rim had a bend in it. I think this particular tire was on the right front and the past owner struck a curb at some speed to bend the rim. A couple of the other rims had road rash. We moved on to another Lexus and liked it. When we got to financing and the price of the car was $3000 more than advertised due to some special invisible paint protection that was added. After refusing to pay this the dealer agreed to cut the price down by $2000 and brought out some hokey receipt showing that the actually spent $1000 and used special invisible protection substance to keep the car prestige. Walk away from this dump of a dealership they are dishonest. Did I mention that after telling em I was going to pay cash they insisted on running credit cause they have too? Just because? read more

Went above and beyond in bringing every version and colos of cars we asked for test drive. Went today 09/02/24 as soon as they opened because we were in the market for an IS 300 F Sport/F Sport Design AWD. Timothy G greeted us promptly and pulled up an IS 300 RWD for us to check out. Everything started well until we got to talk to him more. 1) I told him what we were looking for and mockingly asked us what we need an AWD in California for. Proceeded to say that in Chicago we're he's from, that's where you need an AWD. Sure, whatever. 2) We had some questions as there were confusions about the differences between F Sport and F Sport Design. He told me IS 300 does not come in F Sport. I clarified because the Lexus website says otherwise. He rudely told us "well I don't go by the website" umm sure. But the website is what customers mainly use as a reference so understandably there will be confusion. 3) The white car that he had us look at says IS 300 F Sport on the sticker. The manager (?) (who Timothy grabbed) told us it was actually an F Sport Design. At this point we havent received any clear info as to what the differences are. When we asked more questions, we were told we were overcomplicating things. Well buying a car is complicated. And we're talking about buying a car that is almost 50 grand, of course we will ask questions. This really turned us off so we left and I'm glad we did. We ended up buying a car from Lexus Beverly Hills which had the best service and we got the car we wanted the same day. read more

They insisted that all the add-ons were already added to the car and could not be removed. They are deceptive in their sales practices and outright lie to the customer. I have filed a formal complaint to the California DMV Investigations Division to try to get them to stop these deceitful practices with customers.
