The food arrived hot, fresh, and exactly as ordered. What really made them stand out was the attention to detail. The napkins, seasonings, and utensils were all packed in individual bags, which made everything so much easier to hand out. I've been a Key Wok regular for years. I love their crispy beef and fried chicken wings. However... In the middle of moving and eating on the floor on a stressful day, we placed an order and decided to try the Szechuan style shrimp. It was one of the worst things I've ever eaten, or tried to eat, really. You get six shrimp swimming in a bowl of onions and ketchup-barbecue saucey syrupy tasting who knows what sauce. I've had this bookmarked for the past year or two and I'm finally able to try it now that I moved within range of their delivery service! Since it's not a sit-down place, I never wanted to drive this far just for carry out, so I'm happy I am finally close enough for them to deliver. And it's free to deliver! Anyway, I tried their vegan general tso's "chicken" and my fiancé got their orange chicken. Both weren't to die for, but they also weren't bad. I definitely see myself eating here again! I love fake meat chicken just because of the texture (no, I do not want it to taste like meat), but I like the crispiness of this better than just ordering tofu. I'm excited to try their other vegan options. I also like that they have dinner specials! So for about $11, I was able to get rice and an egg roll (or soup). And they offered either a meat egg roll or a veggie egg roll (yes!). Most Chinese food places only offer lunch specials like that, but this place has this both for lunch and dinner! And the vegan options were included in the specials! Most of the time when I look at lunch specials at places, they don't have many vegan or veggie options, so I order off the regular menu and end up having to get the bigger serving and paying more than anyone else in my party. My usual place did not answer the phone when I called so I ordered from Key Wok and I am glad I did. Ordered my usual chicken and broccoli, steamed dumplings, and egg drop soup. The broccoli was nice and crisp with plenty of chicken. Leftover dumplings were split the next day. The dumpling sauce was very good. I picked this up myself and the online order told me when it would be ready. The place is small but you can eat inside and it looked clean and bright. The staff was nice and helpful with some questions I had about the menu. Their menu is typical in many ways but they also carry some items unfamiliar to me like Pho which I do plan to try another time. More like 40 minutes and as a special bonus there was a long hair in my food. Not sure if I'll be back any time soon. I tried Key Wok again! I am sad to say that after 25 years of great food I will no longer ever again order something from Key Wok. I ordered Szechuan chicken for dinner and not only was the whole order all sliced onion with barely any chicken, there was absolutely no flavor at all! Food was not good. The shrimp fried rice & egg rolls were tasteless. I tried adding soy sauce but it did no good. The crab ragoons were just empty fried shells with an insulting amount of cream crab filling which was also without taste. The Thai Tea was absolutely HORRIBLE not sweet at all tasted toxic & we ended up just throwing all the food away & going somewhere else. Key Wok is our go to for Chinese delivery. The delivery is always fast and the driver pleasant. The beef fried rice is my husband's go to and he's never disappointed. I will say the last time we ordered from there it was better quality (no chewy chicken) so I'll have to check back in again. We just moved to the area so we have been "shopping" Chinese restaurants for the last few months trying to find our future go to place. I don't know how other to put it than this place just wasn't good. I think you can tell a lot about a Chinese restaurant by their fried rice and theirs is not good. Nothing was disgusting, it just wasn't good. The crab rangoons tasted fishy and were mushy. And the lo mein tasted like it had been cooked in old grease. Key Wok is like that dependable friend who is always there for you no matter what. Every time I'm hungover it's there to make sure I have something to eat. The bonus things for me are that you can order through Grub Hub and the delivery minimum is much lower than other places around me. I can't speak for the interior because I've never actually been in this store but I can tell you that the food is on point and Im thoroughly impressed. We have been ordering food from Key Wok for the past six years and we have had mostly good experiences. They are definitely the best place to get Chinese food from in the Riviera Beach area of Pasadena and they also deliver which is really convenient. We usually get the Chinese Steamed Dumplings, Shrimp Fried Rice and General Tsao's Chicken. After seeing the reviews on Yelp, I decided to check this place out. I don't normally crave Chinese, but on occasion, the need is so severe, I can't think about anything else. My experiences with vegan versions of classic Chinese dishes have been really hit or miss, but I went out on a limb and ordered their vegan General Tso's anyway. It was, by far, the BEST I've ever had. The flavor was on point and the consistency was utter perfection. Unfortunately, this had upped my cravings for Chinese food ten fold (at least). The service is always stellar as well. They're not exactly located close to my house, but I'm more than willing to make the commute for their delicious vegan options.
