I have very dark brown hair naturally, and Mara is able to make me a blonde without frying my hair the way other salons have when I've "cheated" on her, and I always thoroughly enjoy my time with her, because, bonus, she's hilarious! The decor of the salon chic and comfy. As far as the only other review here, I find the details very difficult to believe. Mara is a consummate professional, and the idea that she would physically threaten someone (p.s. she is under 5' tall and petite doesn't even cover it) seems completely unbelievable.

I was nervous choosing someone after only looking at photos and reviews on Yelp but after the owner, Melissa was kind enough to make time for me in her already booked schedule and seemed as excited as I was to give me a new look I knew I had made the right choice. I had chosen a photo I loved from her website which happened to be one of the more involved processes - Bayalage and takes quite a bit longer. She came in early and spent over half a day giving me the look I had dreamed of and even did an extra treatment on my hair to keep it from getting too dry since I already had color and went blonder. I love Aveda, and while you sometimes pay a little bit more at an Aveda salon, I think it is 100% worth it. I left feeling like a movie star with my silky blowout and natural highlights. I also love that Green House is a smaller salon, more intimate setting and in a beautiful location. You can even stroll to view the beach while you are processing. I got to see the plans for the upcoming renovations and can't wait to go back to see the new zen look of the space. Thank you Melissa for making me feel like a customer you had had for years. What a wonderful and upscale day spay for Key Largo. Ube has done a fabulous job of cutting my hair several times. One of the best hair cuts I have ever had! For the first time, I don't have to fuss with my hair. It falls beautifully all on its own. I have also had several great manicures and pedicures. Lovely massage spa chairs add to the experience. They also convinced the friend I brought with me to get gel as well. This used to be my go-to spot, which makes this experience even more disappointing. The customer service has gone downhill over time. No one wears name tags, no one is welcoming, and the staff overall seems uninterested and dismissive. This has been my experience consistently since late 2024. I truly hope things change for the better, but unfortunately I won't be returning.

Because I was waiting longer than usual I was paying more attention to the employees. When I first got there the foot bath had a used plastic basin cover still sitting in it and I had to tell the man to change it before he started my pedicure and that it was dirty and used. He changed it but was prepared to use the same one that had already been used. I watched the woman who works there dip her tools in dirty foot bath water, including the white jet cover, and set it to the side. Not cleaned. The tools she used on me were used on the person before me. She dipped them in water where my feet had been soaking and dried them on the towel my feet were at and tossed them in her bin. This was the same thing that was done with the woman prior to me. It didn't register right away what had happened but then I asked her if they were the same tools and she said yes. I then spoke with the male at the front desk and explained this to him and he didn't deny this. He said something to her about it and did not seem surprised at all about this.
