We usually come here but it seems the food gets worse everytime. We ordered FRESH FISH congee and macaroni with bacon and eggs. The fish and macaroni is frozen and defrosted which I assume they do that with all the foods they serve here. How do I know its frozen? the macaroni is chewy which only happens to old pasta that was put in the fridge and recooked. The fish comes from a can with no skin attached. A great place to come if you're feeling Asian food for late night munchies. It tends to get pretty crowded after 9pmish even on a weekday night so be prepared to wait. The food quality overall is not excellent but not bad either. They definitely give very large portions that will be sure to fill you up and make you sleepy during the drive home. I would recommend the Portuguese Curry Chicken on Rice. They definitely add some coconut milk or something to the sauce to give it thicker texture and that creamy taste. All the other dishes that I tried are just average and not worth mentioning. read more

I came here about a hour before it was closed for a midnight snack. When we got here the service was horrid, It took nearly a half hour before someone even came to give us water and ask us what we want. That would of been excusable if it was packed, but we were one of the 3 tables that were there at that time. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is simply because of the Deep Fried Crispy Milk Block. Those were delicious as soon as i took the first bite and the milk was oozing out of it. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Bad manners and rude. I went to pay and told the lady I'm leaving a CASH tip and paying the bill in debit. I finished paying the debit portion. The lady chased me down and said "WHERE MY TIP!!" I told her the tip is on the table. She then had the balls to ask me why I didn't pay the tip on my card. And why I left a $20 cash tip for a $114 bill. Are you serious? That's more then 15% . These people don't care about the service they are providing you only your money. FOOD QUALITY. I've been here twice. Both time have had diarrhea. The food is nice and presentable. But when the servers are bringing it out some of them stick their thumbs into the food as they hold it. Ordered the clams and got mostly shells Ordered the lobster and got the end of a tail and parts of the body. Not a full lobster ! don't be fooled Fried rice with salted fish. Been here a few times prior to their renovation in 2010; this is my first visit afterwards. This big and bright restaurant is comfortable and casual; the most notable change I recall after renovating is the updated modern decor and furnishings. The food seems on par with what I remember. Extensive, appealing menu with tons of pictures, all sorts of food offered. Our lineup? We enjoyed best the big bowl of chicken congee, full of chicken flavor and good consistency. The very impressive-looking jumbo tiger shrimp on top of fried rice was equally impressive-looking in person, but while the shrimp were juicy and done just right, the rice seemed an afterthought; should have just ordered the shrimp alone. Turnip cake fried in XO sauce tasted good but the cake lacked turnip. Our stir fried noodles were done fine but not especially great. Overall, not as good as I remembered, and I suspect in large part, your experience depends on what is ordered. Given their big portion sizes, I'd recommend coming to Keung's Delight in a group and maybe scouring reviews (and eyeballing what other tables order) for a better idea on what's best to order. read more

Coming here late night for some comfort food we decided to keep it local. Keungs has been here for sometime since this plaza came to existence. The place is very spacious and clean with contemporary decor. With its late hours till 2am on weekends J and I decided to order some congee after grabbing one of the many booths available. My fiance, his family, and I got into Markham pretty late. We didn't really know where to eat dinner at 10PM so we ended up going back to Keung's Delight. We came here two years ago for dinner actually on our first night too. The restaurant looked the same, nothing different. There was a lot of seats available when we arrived. We had a family style meal (didn't take pictures cause I was too hungry). Food was okay, not great. We ordered a fish dish, but the dish never came. The waitress told us there was a slight issue with retrieving or cooking the fish, so we ended up not having any fish at all. The bathroom was horrible! My fiance said the men room was extremely dirty, but little did he know the women restroom was just as bad or worse. It smelled disgusting and like throw up. I never experienced such a disgusting bathroom experience. I wouldn't really want to come back here for dinner being that it felt the service was extremely slow and careless. In addition, I would not want to use their restroom again. Hopefully their service and cleanliness will get better. read more

The location is inside a plaza with other restaurants; typical Hong Kong cafe style with milk tea, coffee and etc. The prices are competitive compare to other restaurants, but nothing special in term of taste or arrangement. It is a good spot to visit if nearby location is packed, as that's the case in recent year. Customer service and arrangement is almost nonexistent, sometimes waiter will not acknowledge you, that's the vibe I get. Really H'angry! Been walking around P-Mall all afternoon going from store to store. Lucky the walk is short between stores!! :P On the way back we stopped at Keung's Delight. Not really sure why we chose this place over the dozens of other places but they were one of the busy places. Busy means they are good...right? Or cheap! :) Went in, the place has a modern feel with funky lighting, booths, and p-leather chairs. Looked around and with all the bits and pieces of food flung on the floor from their "cleaning" of the tables brought me right back to...it's a typical place! Everyone - use the tea to sanitize your utensils and wipe everything - ugh! Ordered a smattering of stuff. No real standout items. Ribs were really fatty, the fried rice portions were huge, the seafood chow mein needs more seafood...you know...typical. A solid 2.5 - leaves me with I can take it or leave it. I've eaten here a handful of times. Portions are huge, but the food is nothing special. My main reason for writing this review is my total and utter devastation about a small but important product they've inexplicably messed with - their delicious hot chili oil. It's set out on every table for eat-in customers to enjoy with their food, but, being obsessed with it, I make the 26km drive about once a month to buy a big vat of it. After getting it home & tasting it today, I was super disappointed to find they'd not only made it more expensive, but that they'd gone ahead and changed the recipe completely. It's no longer spicy, garlicky, flavourful & complex. Nor is it delicious any longer. Instead, it's bitter, one-note, and definitely not worth a 26km drive. I wouldn't even cross the street for the garbage they sold me. When I called to inquire what happened, I was indeed informed they'd changed oil suppliers. I expressed my displeasure and am hoping they'll see sense & go back to their old supplier. Until then, I will have to make do with the oil sold at Ming's Noodle Cafe, an inferior product, but one infinitely better than the new rubbish Keung's Delight is now selling. read more

Haven't been giving this place a proper review mainly because it's already packed and having to wait in the crush of pushy Asians for 45 mins isn't much fun. Nevertheless, this is my staple for dinner. Just high quality food with great value and fast service. Mostly like a HK style cafe with your wonton noodle soups and sweet and sour pork but also some more unique dishes, like fried milk bars (not exactly what it sounds like) and pork-bone soups boiled over many hours to extract "the good stuff" that Chinese mothers always refer to when they forced you to drink a certain broth. Really, this place is representative of the best of Chinese cuisine in the GTA which puts it on par with Vancouver and better than any place state side. However, I no longer go there because, the waiter man was flirting with these elderly chinese ladies, resulting in ordering the wrong food for us.. and then he said it was cause our chinese was not good! They renovated the restaurant a few months ago, and the chef changed because the food taste a lot better than before! Ideally this place is good for family, but they don't take reservations. As well, I believe they only take cash, but they could have change that as well. If you go before 5pm or so, they have a deal which is a dish + a drink. This place is good to bring your family. It is mostly families, groups of 20s-30s people, and grandparents. As well, since it's asian food.. generally you will find mostly asian people in this restaurant. If you have a big group of people with you, expect to wait anywhere from 20-45 minutes. When waiting, I suggest you delegate one friend to wait, because the other customers are pretty pushy and rude. Most people usually order this metal pot, that has corn, pork and veggies, which makes a good get away from grease dishes. However, when I go with my family.. we really like the black pepper pork or beef that's baked with rice underneath it or deep fried fish with corn sauce over rice! read more

Dee-licious. My family and I go here almost everytime we find ourselves circling Markham undecidedly. He wants Chinese, she wants Japanese... then in unison, we all yell "Let's go to Keung Kee!" and then we all give each other high fives. I'm not sure what the proper classification of regional Chinese food this would be - I'm suspecting northern Canton? Anyway, wherever this blessed food comes from, it is unlike any other Chinese food I've ever had. Bursting with flavours of savoury spices, fresh ingredients, light fluffy rice, and the best part - you won't leave feeling bogged down with grease. Favourite thing to order - a giant bubbling metal pot for sharing (among 2 people minimum, up to 4 or so) filled to the brim with corn on the cob, pork bones with tender meat clinging on, carrots, and a spicy green vegetable in a incredibly flavourful peppery broth. Delicious and (I'm going to tell myself), nutritious! Order some fried rice on the side and, wow, this meal will trump most things found on Spadina. read more

The environment is very modern, surprising given that the plaza beside it is very much dated. Most of the wait staff speak primarily Cantonese with just enough English for us Canadian chinese =). Friend and I picked up lo meins, hers was a beef brisket in soup and mine was a beef tendon dry. Both were large and very filling, obviously the veggies with it were practically non existent but given the mid $5 price I'm not expecting the most rounded meal. Nothing great to say. Was overall average Chinese food. Took forever to get our order taken. Tea was too dark/strong that we had to ask for extra tea pot of hot water to dilute. This hot water, we had to ask for twice and came when we were almost done our meal. Food was okay tasting, not bad. Chicken wings smelt a little weird, but tasted okay. Stir fried pork with pancake wraps wasn't good. Only came with 5 wraps, and we were left with an entire dish to eat alone. Service was really slow. Took forever to get our bill. We wanted to pay debit, but they never came by with the machine. They were all eating at the table next to us.... This place is all right for Chinese Food. It's pretty fast modern decor which is a plus, some food items can be really hit or they can be a mess. I was there I ordered the beef with broccoli, the Malaysian fried noodles, and the Eel Fried rice. Service was quick however the Malaysian fried noodles definitely did not live up to my expectation. The Eel fried rice was average and the beef with broccoli was above average. Like some of the other reviews, the food is average and not that great. I went at 1030 pm, not too busy but it was difficult to wave down a server despite being seen by many. This was a very typical Chinese restaurant and environment. We ordered beef brisket named rice with tomato sauce and beef + preserved egg congee and sweet donut. The food came out pretty fast (~5 minutes after ordering). It's very filling but not that tasty. I was very disappointed with the baked rice because the sauce was waaay too thick, especially when it cooled down - it was like glue. The meat in the congee tasted like old meat and kind of sour? It was edible but again, not good. When getting the bill, again, the servers just look at you and don't even come to your table! Like, do you not want my money?! The total came to $18 including tip, although cheap, it was not worth the money. This restaurant is not delightful at all! read more

Food was subpar and paying was an ordeal. First off, in North America we already over do it with tipping. I think it's pretty redicoulous for restaurants to expect bigger tips when we have to physically walk up to the cashier to pay. I would have gone to a fast food joint if I knew I had to do this. Anyway that's one point. The next point is of your card terminal messes up, never pre enter the tip amount for your customer thinking that is what you thought I would pay. Never again will i come here. As well for any places that makes me get up to go pay, then they will not get much of a tip from me. They can easily bring their terminal to me or purchase more terminals. You're running a business, so don't be so cheap. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch for 9 people. Got a table fairly quickly. They have a lazy susan in the middle which makes it super convenient. The food here was mediocre, nothing too special. Service was not very good, took a while to get any service (like tea refills, cold water). Why do I keep returning here? Keung's Delight is a typical Chinese restaurant, but for me, I don't find anything outstanding about it. Food is either slightly above average or mediocre. I'm usually here just because it's convenient or it's because my family wants to come here. My most recent visit was with a friend. We ordered four dishes. One of them was a deep fried calamari dish that was disappointing. No crunch to the batter, and the distribution of spices was awful (some pieces were super salty and the rest were bland). It felt like I was eating cold leftovers. Another dish was the baked spaghetti. That was okay, but it could've used more cheese. A lot more cheese. The other two (congee and an eggplant dish) were quite good. I think the eggplant dish (it's in one of the hot stone pots) is one of their best executed dishes. Service was standard. No complaints or compliments. I'm going to give this place a three to be fair, because it is an okay restaurant, but in my heart it's more like a two. read more

Keungs is a cheap place for cantonese food. It's dishes are decently priced and affordable. They have a huge selection of dishes. You'll almost never see this restaurant empty. The food comes out really fast, but be warned the waiters always seem like they're having a bad day. Their congees are the best. read more

I was in a party of 3, and ordered the Cantonese Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Pork and Beef with mushroom on sizzling skillet. We managed to finish everything (barely) and it came up to about $13 each in the end. So pretty much the reason for this 2 star here is because the waiter came to our table as we were paying the bill and said to us we didn't tip yet. Well no duh we didn't tip yet because we were about to... ABOUT TO. My dad was going to tip a $5 but instead just gave the minimum. WHO ASKS THAT. That person was so rude. Usually I've come here a lot but never again after that night. The food is quite good and I think it has been for a good while and probably still is. The price though can be a bit pricy compared to other chinese restaurants. Amazing pork bone soup

Who is Keung? Seems to enjoy girls who wear pink bow-tie hair-clips because every waitress here has one as apart of their uniform. Couple with black and pink shirts, the inform is less than delightful. When it's busy, expect to be sat beside some total strangers. Although this is the norm in some parts of China, I never became accustomed to eating within poking proximity with people I don't know. The chefs compensate this very quickly because the food is without a doubt delightful. The sheer amount of food varying from different parts of Mainland China can mostly be found in 'cute' variations that is easy to swallow for anyone--not that you'd find anyone in China eating salmon congee--adventurous or not. In fact, after eating here for the last couple of weeks, I've developed a slight propensity to dining while eavesdropping on strangers' conversations. What? It's not like I asked to be sat next to them. I much more prefer the booth seating, or the found tables that sits up to eight. It's kind of fun contemplating with other people's issues though. The food are moderately priced, most are under ten dollars per dish and they come well portioned. Many hard to find items are offered here, including that minced meat on tofu thing. You just got to order as to what the words say, because the photos aren't always a proper representation of what arrives at the table. The waitresses here wear LED blinking name tags, and none of them smile. I would as best equally as stoic of I were forced to work in a restaurant wearing the 90's Chinese rendition of some Countryside Vaudeville tack approach to cuisine. A for effort on the food, not the decor and anything visual. The washrooms could use another scrubbing. It's just uncomfortable all-over. With exception of the food, which is more than enough reasons for me to come back over and over again. The whole place has a rural China upscale-wannabe restaurant ambiance, with appropriately great food. If you ever wondered what that imagery was like back in my Motherland, this place is a fair depiction. Even the staff all have tanned skin, a characteristic of migrants. We had a beef stew in hot pot. It came lots of turnips! It has less meat than expected but also cheap so we didn't mind and I'm not a meat lover so it was fine. The meal also came with a free soup so that's a plus! We were two but also had 4 soups each. I liked the soup, it was somehow sweet and not too salty. The highlight was the tomato and cream with shrimps and chicken rice. I loved it! The tomato side was sour but refreshing! The cream side was really light! I saw a lot of people taking the big hot pot thingy. I think it has veggies and meat only inside. But it should be damn good since almost every table has one. Next time in town I'll try the house special fried rice. That was also seen often on other tables read more
