Came for afternoon tea. The restaurant is situated in a pretty big plaza. It was very spacious and comfortable and the service was quite normal for a Chinese restaurant. We ordered off their afternoon tea menu and most of the dishes were $9.95 including a drink and the portion sizes were massive. We ordered the Singaporean Noodles, Beef stir-fried noodles, Wonton Noodles and their Grouper eggplant pot. My only issue is that I don't think they marinated or seasoned their beef and shrimp very well. It was quite bland. The wonton was excellent though with a good bounce and flavor to it. The included drinks were pretty mediocre. The red bean was a bit hard and wasn't soft enough and the drink was lacking in flavor. The Singaporean noodles tasted like it was steamed and was lacking in Wok Hei. But, the beef ho fun was really good though. Decent Cantonese food for amazing prices. Would definitely come back again. I would skip the Singaporean noodles and get either the Beef Stir Fry or the Wonton noodles.

Our go‑to post‑pickleball and badminton tea time spot - simple, generous, and great value A group of 5-6 of us finally gave this place a proper try last week after playing pickleball, going for their tea time set menu instead of the lunch and dinner menu. We wanted to try more of their food variety, and honestly, the tea menu is where this place really shines for value. The tea set comes with a wide choice of drinks - hot or cold - all included, which is a nice touch. We had things like red bean drink with ice cream, black jello drink with ice cream, coffee, milk tea, and more. It's not fancy, but it's exactly what you'd want after a long game: something sweet, refreshing, and comforting without breaking the bank. This is our casual, no‑fuss spot after pickleball or badminton with friends. The interior is modest - nothing fancy or trendy - but it feels like a real Hong Kong-style cha chaan teng or local Cantonese diner. The food tastes authentic, portions are very generous, and the prices are hard to beat. For example, you can get a meal with 7 chicken wings and a drink for just $9.95, or add fries for $13.95. It's hard to find that kind of value elsewhere. Staff are friendly, though some are a bit shy compared to what you might see in many Western-style places - they're not super chatty, but they're definitely not rude. They get the job done and are happy to help when needed. It's a great place for a big group, especially if you're used to sharing food the HK/Asian way. A few of our friends shared meals, and it worked perfectly - everyone could try a bit of everything without feeling like they had to order a full plate each. If you haven't tried it yet, I'd say give it a go, especially if you're looking for a relaxed, affordable meal with friends after sports or just a casual hangout. Just don't expect fine dining - this is about good, authentic Cantonese/HK-style food, big portions, and great value at a modest price. Let me know if you go - I'd love to hear what you liked and what you ordered!

Sizzling beef plate

I came here 2 times in 1 week. The first Saturday, we ordered 4 dishes 1. Soft shell crab fried rice 2. Grouper and eggplant hot pot 3. Sizzling beef plate 4. Special $7.99 steamed chicken The first visit was all good, everything tasted top notch. So Came back today for a second visit today for a second visit because of the first experience. We ordered 1. Grouper and tofu hot pot 2. Black tiger shrimp with fried rice 3. Scallops and broccoli 4. $7.99 sweet and sour chicken I'm sorry to say everything was "gross" Each seafood dish had a smelly fishy taste. I was horrified at the quality of the food. Because of this visit, I gave a 3 star review. Needless to say we won't be back ever. Everything was gross.

Food is ok. Not bad. I like the deal for buying over $49 and get a dish for special price . It's in the picture. I took chicken for the special dish. It's a casual restaurant. The server is nice and serve promptly. There is private parking and the parking can be busy. Use google lens to check the special at the door written in Chinese.

Keung Kee - eggplant with minced pork

Long time no see, but glad what's old can be new again! After all of these years, glad to see that Keung Kee is still serving up classic HK dishes in large portions at affordable prices. This spot was quite packed when we visited in the late afternoon for a meal, which just goes to show that folks enjoy this spot. For our group, we tried the $88 twin lobster set meal with our choice of 3 more dishes: sweet & sour pork, fried salt & pepper squid and eggplant w/ minced pork. The twin lobsters were small but packed the standard savory taste. The other dishes were well-portioned with good crisp although the eggplants weren't cooked long enough for the sauce to seep through so a bit bland. I was reminiscing the $18.95 softshell crab fried rice and was glad it was packed with crab in a mountain of rice like old times. For afternoon tea menu, the pork chop macaroni was only $9.95 coming with a drink but I would pass on that next time. All-in-all it was a good fill up although flavors didn't blow us away by any means. Service was quite responsive and the spacious restaurant was well-staffed including in the kitchen where our dishes came streaming out quickly. We came hungry and left satisfied. A good sign!

My family was looking for a Cantonese restaurant for dinner on New Year's Day. Unfortunately, every other family had the exact same idea, so we had to call around to secure a reservation. We decided on Keung Kee, since they were able to accommodate us with a 5:30 PM reservation. 古銅胡椒咸筒骨大芥菜煲 PEPPER MUSTARD GREEN HOT POT - 22.95 The hot pot was kept warm over a gentle flame to keep the broth at the perfect temperature. The broth was incredibly flavor, with a creamy pork bone base and a subtle hint of white pepper. A rich, hearty broth is the ideal way to start a meal on a cold winter evening. The hot pot also had shiitake mushrooms, corn, carrots, and chunks of fried tofu, all nice additions. The mustard greens had the perfect texture, but it was a bit bitter. If there's anything I could change about this hot pot, it would be to swap the mustard greens for napa cabbage or lettuce to bring a slightly "sweeter" flavor to balance the bitterness. 菠蘿咕嚕肉 SWEET AND SOUR PORK - 15.95 The pork had a nicely fried breading and was very juicy. But at the end of the day, sweet and sour pork is just sweet and sour pork -- it's a dish you can order at most Chinese restaurants. You don't need to order it here. 上湯杞子扒豆苗 STIR FRIED PEA SHOOTS WITH GOJI BERRIES IN BROTH - 21.95 The pea shoots were fresh, but the dish was bland. The broth and goji berries didn't add much to elevate the flavors. But if you're in need of some vegetables, pea shoots are always a good option. 弛名沙田紅燒乳鴿 SHATIN ROASTED YOUNG PIGEON - 34.95 We were eager to try the pigeon, but unfortunately, it was extremely dry. This pigeon sacrificed its life, only to be roasted poorly. 豉汁炒蜆 FRIED CLAM WITH BLACK BEAN SAUCE - 17.50 The black bean sauce was flavorful, but the clams didn't seem very fresh. They had an off taste, and it was difficult to pull the meat from the shells. Additionally, the clams weren't thoroughly cleaned, as we could still taste a gritty texture in some of them. 木桶荷香溫哥華蟹飯 B.C. CRAB WITH FRIED RICE - 39.95 The rice is topped with a whole crab and steamed in a large bamboo basket. The rice quality here was not spectacular -- it was a bit more mushy, and we couldn't taste each grain individually. However, the rice had a nice depth of flavor, with subtle hints of crab and garlic infused throughout. Overall, the dishes were pretty mediocre, with the exception of the Pepper Mustard Green Hot Pot. We noticed at least 10 tables ordering the same hot pot while we were dining, so if you decide to visit Keung Kee, I highly recommend trying it. Our experience was a 3.5/5, but I'm bumping the rating to a 4/5 since they were able to accommodate us on such a busy evening.

Yummy and a lot of parking spots. Wanted to try their afteronno tea special that start at 3pm but we came too early 230, So ordered the regular noodle in soup... the food were good.

This is another great location for congee and Cantonese food. It's been our favorite place for years. And it's usually busy during weekends. We Ordered: 1. Chicken 5/5 2. Pork bone soup 5/5 3. Fried Rice 5/5 4. Fried noodles 4/5 5. Vegetable with mushrooms 5/5 Will come back for afternoon tea. Staff here is friendly and fast

Comfort Chinese food that is best known for their pork bone pepper soup! This is a great spot for a quick meal, as the dishes come out fairly fast. The staples are fried turnip cakes, comes in small cubes and fried on all sides. Got the fried tofu that is salt and pepper flavoured, great crisp on the outside and fluffy soft inside. The star of the show and probably their most popular dish at this restaurant is their pork bone pepper soup. It comes in a large flaming pot and is super peppery in flavour. The milky soup has a lot of pork bone flavour, have lots of veggies and is great for sharing with the table. It's a typical Chinese restaurant that is fast paced and has great food. Don't expect friendly service, but the wait staff are quick on their feet so you won't have to wait long for anything. If you're looking for delicious, fairly priced Chinese food for a group, this is the place to be!

Aesthetics aside, Keung's food is decent and well priced. The fish and preserved egg congee ($7.95) was an unique combination containing an ample portion of fish filet and chunks of preserved egg. The congee (a savoury rice porridge) was thick and flavourful arriving piping hot with a sprinkling of green onion for freshness. The Singapore vermicelli ($12.95) was also well prepared - the thin noodles well tosses so every inch covered with the curry and salt seasoning. The shrimp and barbeque pork were left in larger chunks, so the ingredients were less dispersed amongst the noodles, pick and choose as you fill your bowl to make sure you get a taste of everything. Keung's beef and vegetable fried rice noodles ($12.95) contained plenty of sauce dousing the noodles in a rich gravy. There was also sufficient beef but could use more gai lan (Chinese broccoli) to add colour and crispiness to balance off the rich dish. While their service isn't overly warm, Keung's staff is least efficient with the food runner speed walking each dish to the table, so it arrives hot and fresh from the kitchen. Also like a diner, you'll be in and out in no time, although the restaurant isn't overly busy, so you're welcomed to sit and enjoy another cup of weak tea. Or you can indulge in a bressert (breakfast dessert) with a glass of grassy jelly or red bean ice drink.

This place was super busy on a weekend dinner time, typical Chinese restaurant interior, food was hot and with wok hei, service was okay but they don't take credit cards, we had no cash or debit card with us, had to do e-transfer lol.

My favorite soup from this restaurant.

The food here is very generous. We ordered the 4-person set with two side pots. Tomato Braised Beef Brisket and Chicken Stewed with Mushrooms and the portions were huge. Both pots arrived steaming hot and filled to the brim, clearly meant for sharing. The braised beef was rich and hearty, while the chicken pot was comforting and full of flavor, making it perfect for group dining or cold weather meals. Combined with the rustic, traditional décor, it really feels like authentic Northeast Chinese comfort food. The food and atmosphere were excellent, though the service was a bit lacking. I was hoping to find something special on the menu. The Peking duck caught my eye at around $70, but then I discovered that almost everything else was extra--lettuce wraps, stir-fried duck meat, fried rice, and soup. By the time you add the extras, the bill is easily another $50 or more, bringing the total to well over $120. We decided to pass, and judging from the dishes we did order, that was probably the right decision. The hot and sour soup had plenty of heat and tang but lacked depth of flavor and was under-seasoned for my taste. Fortunately, we only ordered a small bowl. The deep-fried tofu was bland and forgettable. The stir-fried shrimp was acceptable but nothing special. The biggest disappointment was the sweet and sour pork. I specifically asked the server to make sure the pork was crispy, but it arrived soft and lumpy rather than light and crunchy. Even the complimentary red bean dessert soup was watery and lacked flavor. Our bill came to about $104 for two people. For the quality of the food, I didn't feel it offered good value. Sadly, after several disappointing visits, I don't think we'll be returning.

I had my food in my insulated bag, so the sauce leaked into the Fantuan bag and my insulated bag. Luckily, my car was fine. As a result, my rating is four stars. I wanted to try a new eatery. I looked at my Fantuan app and noticed He Bei Chinese Cuisine. It had dumplings and snacks that I enjoy, so I said yes to placing a dinner order from this eatery. I ordered these items: - Pork and chive steamed dumplings (large has 14 dumplings) - Tea eggs - Shredded potato salad On Fantuan, when you purchase $15 worth of food, you get the shredded potato salad for a cent. Deal! After placing my order near my home, I drove over to this eatery. The drive was ten minutes. I was given an estimated time of fifteen minutes. It was ready in ten minutes. I had no problem finding this eatery. There was plenty of parking. I pulled into a spot and walked in. I saw the Yubu sign. My heart sank, as I loved the Korean tofu pockets from this joint. I liked seeing places to sit down and eat at He Bei. Nice! A woman behind the counter came over. I said that I had a Fantuan order. She talked to me in Mandarin. I don't understand it, but we were fine communicating with each other in our languages. She pointed out the blue Fantuan bag on the table behind me. I thanked her and wished her a nice day. She said thanks right back. I put my food in my insulated bag. With the leak, I managed to launder the Fantuan bag and clean my insulated bag. After I cleaned up, I had dinner at home. The food was amazing and filling! I loved the shredded potato salad. Sure, a lot of the sesame-soy sauce was gone. However, it tasted yummy. It was worth the cent! The steamed pork and chive dumplings were so good. I didn't dunk them in soy sauce. The filling had so much moisture that I felt like I was eating soup dumplings. The filling had yummy flavour and the dumplings were steamed to perfection. Excellent! You can buy frozen dumplings from this place. I'll need to do it. The tea eggs were the perfect snack while streaming hockey games. I peeled the shells off both of them. The eggs were cracked to allow the amazing soy-based sauce to marinate and get into the eggs. Delicious! I'm a fan. I'll take a closer look at the lids on my food next time. I'm glad that I put food in my insulated bag. It saved cleaning my car's upholstery! (59)

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.

We first noticed this restaurant because the name in Chinese is "like to be with you". It's Friday…read morethat after my appointment around the area. They have different special offers each day from Monday to Friday. We ordered the special Linyi Style Stir Fried Chicken on Friday. And we also ordered Boiled Basa Fish with pickled Cabbage & Green Pepper. They were pretty traditional Chinese styles. The white rice or brown rice both can have as much as we could. That's good for men. We both like here, but they don't offer specials during the weekends. But they do have other special packages, just a bit different. And they also have the membership that we could collect points and then we could use the points to get drinks or different snacks or dishes.

New sauerkraut fish soup spot in Markham…read more A chain from asia that has finally made it's way to Markham. They are known for their sauerkraut fish soup that comes with unlimited self serve rice on the side. Servers were attentive, spacing of the seating and tables were tight. Often times people kept brushing up against my chair while getting up to go get their rounds of rice. Although not a deal breaker, was annoying while trying to enjoy your food. The portions are big enough for 2 if you get a large, but since it was our first time we wanted to try 2 different soups. Here's what we got: Chicken wings 4/5 - Came out raw the first time after we bit into it. But quickly flagged a server to let them know how this issue. They brought us a new one shortly after that was perfectly cooked, juicy and crispy on the outside. Laotan boiled fish with pickled cabbage and chili 4/5 - Their number one classic so we had to try. It's sour and spicy with the right amount of kick to it. Basa fish filets were also tasty. Came out luke warm. Princess's tomato fish 4/5 - Packed with tomato flavour. Savoury and paired well with the basa fish filet. Came with bean curd noodles as well. Came out luke warm. Easily would be a five star review if both soups that we got came out piping hot rather than lukewarm. Regardless, a great spot for a quick in and out meal.
