Three of us were looking for a quick bite to eat on a snowy Saturday! We thought this would be a great quick bite! The bartender greeted us as we walked up the stairs, there were only a couple of tables of people eating. The bartender was friendly, and took our drink order, which was only water. The menu was adequate, kind of average for a brewery. I was probably the least hungry of the three of us and just ordered the chicken fingers. With the other two, one ordered the ceased salad and one ordered the Cubano. I was told the Cubano was good. The Caesar was said to be crispy but vey dry, lacking dressing! As for the chicken "fingers" - they were actually three cut up large chicken breasts, coated, and deep fried, not chicken tenders. After deep frying, the grease was engrained in the breading and all over the plate. It was not well drained. I ate three bites and called it! I could not eat any more. No one checked to see how the meals were until the plates were cleared. In summary, there was more wrong than was right, but there were some positives on the Cubano and fresh Romaine. read more

Located next to George's Diner, Kettlehead Brewing Co opened their Meredith location on August 9, 2024. This bar and restaurant has 2 floors with a full service bars with stools on each floor, table seating and booths on each floor, cozy couches on the upstairs level, and a colorful animated game room with pool tables and pinball machines upstairs. There are flatscreen TVs at the bar and digital jukebox.  I stopped by Kettlehead in Meredith since each location offers different menu offerings, especially food. I headed to the upstairs bar which was extremely busy, but I grabbed an open stool at the bar. It took a bit to be helped since there were 3 bartenders working nonstop behind the crammed bar and they were trying to get used to the flow of the bar. For the soft opening, the bar offered 16 Kettlehead beers on tap, cocktails, and mixed drinks. The soft opening all day food menu was limited to appetizers, wings, salads, sandwiches, burgers and raw bar (oysters & jumbo shrimp). They also have a dinner menu offering Entrees such as steaks, chicken, pasta, seafood, and vegetarian fare. The pricing here is moderate. After 10 minutes, a bartender finally took my order. I was here for the food and ordered the Fried Calamari Salad ($16 plus tax) and the Fried Grilled Cheese ($15 plus tax) with fries and an ice water. The staff looked very drained as they were getting slammed all day since lunch hour. My food order came out in about 10 minutes by a kitchen runner. The amount of food was very generous. The fried calamari (rings & tentacles) was very crisp over arugula, chopped Italian hot peppers, and aioli dressing. The real hit was the Fried Grilled Cheese Sandwich which had melted mozzarella cheese between firm sourdough bread coated with a crunchy panko coating and served with crispy fries, sort of like fried chips. Other patrons were asking what I was eating too, very interested. After I was done, it took a bit to get the check as the upstairs bar was still getting slammed. The downstairs bar was very full too. The check with tax and before tip was $32.34 (cash)/$33.64 (card).   Overall, I was impressed with the fried pub fare I ordered. The fried grilled cheese is definitely a keeper at this Meredith location. I would definitely return here to try out their food on the dinner menu. read more

It could be the high octane beers speaking...but the space, the laid back nature of the atmosphere, the game room, the food. All was exactly what I've been looking for in the Meredith area. We had such a great time today sitting outside working our way through flights and snacks. read more

We stopped in for post hike beverages. We are long time patrons of Kettleheads in Tilton. We were pleasantly surprised, considering the parking lot was full, to find seating at the bar. Atmosphere was excellent, game room with pool tables, a ping pong table in separate room, two large sitting rooms with couches. Definitely not the same vibe at Tilton Kettleheads but in a good way. Only 3 stars because all we had was beer, but we will be back to check out the food. Service was great as well. read more

I want to start this review by saying that I love the kettle head locations in both Tilton and Franklin. This location, though is way overpriced and understaffed. It is not a waterfront location yet you pay waterfront location prices. I have been there twice and twice. I have been disappointed. When I went there with my son a week ago I ordered a cheeseburger, I'm sorry a hamburger for $18 and two dollars to add cheese to it. I asked for it medium and it came out raw. When I mentioned that to the waitress, she said "funny they have been making them good all day "and did not apologize nor take it off my bill. I would avoid this location at all costs unless you have money to burn. read more

This place is a vibe! I'm a big fan. Really cool ambiance, multiple rooms make this more than just a bar. I came in to check the place out and have a beer and an app at the bar. Solid experience, friendly staff, can't wait to come back and play some billiards, food fighters pinball, and watch some patriots or Celtics games. They turn the sound on for big games!!! Great draft beer selection, specialty cocktails and pub fare in historic brick building that was the former "Mame's" restaurant. The chicken tender bites were delicious, Thai sweet chili drizzle was perfect complement. We shared a grilled Cesar salad that was good, but the calamari salad was a bit too breaded and mainly tentacles. They just opened on Saturday and server was still learning the ropes but that is to be expected. We ate upstairs in the bar area, there are smaller rooms with pool tables, foosball, and bright graffiti murals. Great decor with snow ski and golf club railing accents , horseshoes and wood tables along with the original brick. Fun new place, recommend the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini. First time here, very busy area with parking hard to find on Sat/weekends for sure. Older building, we had to go upstairs and found several tables in pool room that hadn't been cleaned off and other tables mostly filled. We didn't care to listen to pool balls do the three of grabbed bar stools at a very load and busy bar. We ordered drinks which we were told bartender was very backed up so they took awhile. We saw people getting chicken fingers and fries which looked awesome so we ordered. Our checked cam fairly quick and was delicious however no fries showed. We asked bar tender and apparently he forgot to put them on order. The fries finally came but were undercooked and very greasy. We had to take fries home to cook more. The beer was average for the most part, but a sizeable selection. Given the layout of the place and location will most likely not return as the staffing couldnt handle the busy crowd and we noted bartender stressed and not very personal. read more

This is their new location in Meredith. It's a brewery like many other breweries in a location that really could be a whole lot more. We had smash burger which was much like any smash burger but it was very good. More food options encouraged. I could easily increase this rating to 4 or 5 star if there were more options. I love Kettlehead Brewery in Tilton - both their beer and food are excellent. I was interested in the new one in Meredith, because they advertise this one as being extra on the food. We went on a Sunday afternoon. We started with a flight of different beers upstairs in the tasting room. Although it ran really slow, we enjoyed the tasting thoroughly. Looking around, you can see the original building is historic. I loved looking at the old bricks and original wood beams, and I loved the fact that they restored it from it's 9-year derelict status. There are many rooms in the place, many rest-rooms and each room as its own flavor. We went downstairs and decided to eat outside. We had the two menu's - the regular "pub-fare" food and the more upscale menu (almost all entrees over $30). Two of us decided to order the Burger. One of us had the Eggplant Canoli and the other the Fried Romaine Caesar salad with chicken added. The burgers were well-done despite ordering it medium-rare, were tough as leather, tasteless and pretty bad. The Canoli was mostly cheese, and had virtually no eggplant, and the Chicken Caesar salad came with bone-in chicken wings (weird) and was, M-eh, OK. Not at all expected. We noted that as of this date, the main website for Kettlehead doesn't even list the Meredith site - even though they've been open for a month now. Now I know why. I would say that overall the food honestly doesn't even close to measuring-up, but of course the great beers are the same as the other Kettlehead sites. I am hoping that this is just start-up issues, and things improve. I would suggest making changes in the Kitchen - the current operation isn't working. We never let one bad day alone define everything, however, and we will surely go back at some point. Given our current experience, the drive to Tilton is definitely more worth it than going to this one. read more

Filthy, unprepared & dismal menu with expensive, overstated & misrepresented meager offerings. Rancid salad dressing. Better food at a greyhound bus depot. Loud, door kept slamming, filthy & loud. Even the silverware was dirty. So gross. read more
