Great little place just off Main Street in Ashland, New Hampshire, and down a non-descript lane. A stone throw away from Plymouth, NH. Nice selection of housemade craft beers. I loved their not whimpy wheat beer while my husband liked the White Mountain IPA, which he describes as "smooth while it still had a kick." The atmosphere is small and charming with that feel you might have when you're lounging around on a front porch with friends, watching football and drinking beer. This place feels like home, which is patly due to the friendly bartendress, Sara, and the owner and Brewer, Dave. The food, which is mainly Mex, along with dogs and such, is very fresh and has a non-commercial good flavor and character. All made to order. I loved the chili and cheese quesadilla. The chili is pretty awesome and the salsa is a nice red and fresh. Enjoyed mingling with a few of the interesting local regulars.

Came here with my parents and boyfriend on the way back home to Massachusetts after a beautiful weekend hiking and exploring lakeside. This place was recommended to us after visiting another brewery nearby. We ordered the kolsch, stout, and IPA. While there was a limited amount of beer options during COVID, you could still order can beers to go! They also sang happy birthday to my mom and made our day! The cute quaint cabin fits the New Hampshire charm. We are very much looking forward to coming back to sample the rest of the beer varieties upon our next return. Thank you for such a wonderful visit!

Found this place after taking a wrong turn under a bridge after a tree with a windmill and a barn where the wicked kid sells fire works. Great atmosphere. What a micro brewer should be, maybe nano sized. Feels like a brewery on someone's backyard shed. Porter and Belgian Double were excellent. Wished I i would have tried the wings.

Just ok. Beer is fine. Outdoor patio is full of cheap plastic chairs. Trump stickers inside. Take from that what you will.

This place used to be a cool brewery with a speakeasy vibe. Now it's like somebody died. Maybe the business is closing?

We then decided to have something to eat and were encouraged to try the Nachos with Chili - a risky move if it hadn't been recommended by the locals!

Important update edit: we got their "puppy ice cream" for our dog and he has been having explosive…read morediarrhea for 3 days. This has never happened to him before. They have hurt my dog. The bad : Service is terrible and nonexistent, you have to order at the bar and pick up your own food. Of course, they ask for a 25% tip anyway. They upsold a beer right before closing, and then told us we have clear off. With the full beer they just happily to sold us. Also, food prices are absolutely disgusting. See the photo with the menu - $13 for a pretzel. Just absolute cash grabbing nonsense. The good: the outdoor space is quite nice. Large lawn, lots of options between picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Some little trails in a wooded area (for disc golf, but still little paths to walk). The beer is good, at least the farmhouse and Scottish ales.

Love the place. Ample, huge barn style building with awesome beers, a huge Biergarten for summer…read moreevenings, and a truly welcoming vibe. And they also have live music every so often. We came here after attending the massive Gunstock Ski sale. We now have an après ski place coming back home from skiing at Gunstock. Really awesome ambiance and even better service. Just superb service with knowledgeable and friendly bar tenders who explained the brews and the intricate flavors. We tried both their IPAs, the Palmer's Towm IPA and their Lake Cruiser. Both superb. Then a Pumpkin ale that was awesome and a Sour that made us pucker (for the good). Then we thought about food.... Their flat bread pizza, pepperoni and hot honey, is the only thing that beats the Ragged Mountain flatbreads.... And then we had their Bavarian Pretzels which were a wonderful compliment... Overall a superb late afternoon.

A hidden gem. I have been to dozens of microbreweries. This is one of the best. Mark is an artist!read more

Came here for the first time for a special event and we were impressed with the place, which…read morerecently underwent an extensive addition that increased the floor space, providing for a large tasting area and plenty of seating. River Roost is just a brewing facility with a tasting room, so there is no food provided or for sale. However, the place is across the parking lot from Big Fatty's Barbecue for some amazing, out of this world barbecue, Mac & Cheese, and the like. And you can bring it here to munch out while savoring the many beers on draft. And since it's not a restaurants, Fido is welcome. The owner was the attendant on that day and he was quite affable and also knew his beers like the back of his hand. I tried a "Mas Verde" IPA and it was absolutely delicious. Overall a superb time with wonderful people and great beer and superb food from across the street.... The only warning about the area is the parking situation. As the area (which used to be a blighted warehouse and industrial area) has become gentrified and dotted with apartments, the nearby Northern Stage Theatre, and numerous restaurants, parking has become an issue and customers should either arrive early or realize they may have to park several blocks away. But that only shows just how popular this area has become and part of it is River Roost's doing. Great place!!!!!
