If you are looking for clam chowder, go to Kettlefish! It was so good, I wished I hadn't ordered the fish and chips too. They serve it by the cup or a very large bowl and I had regrets I'd only gotten a cup. Thick with potatoes and clams in every bite! The fish and chips were fine, but fairly ordinary. That's all we had so I can't comment on the other soups that looked amazing. This seems like a new spot in town, close to the waterfront park, so the location is great! We arrived to town on our boat so we were on the dock -- it was an easy walk. Reasonable prices too. Give them a try! read more

Kirstin and Jess gave us great customer service and KettleFish gave us really good fish and chips today. This is a smaller, new restaurant in old town Silverdale, WA and is a good place to stop in for excellent seafood. This was our first time there and we will go back. read more

I think we found our new favorite place for seafood. My hubs got the Cioppino and some oysters and I got the fish and chips. The fish was fresh and flakey and the chips were hot and crispy. Paired with their in-house tartar sauce it was spectacular. I snuck a taste (ok more than a little taste) of their cocktail sauce and I'm pretty sure it's the best cocktail sauce I've had in a long time. My hubby absolutely LOVED the Cioppino. Amazing flavor and the temperature was perfect. The oysters were excellent! He only wishes they had oyster shooters! Hands down, delicious. We'll be back to try the rest of the menu! read more

Was feeling under the weather and ordered the Pacific Pan Roast. Creamy buttery broth with a very good amount of seafood. Just what I needed. Definitely on my go-to list. read more

Solid 3 stars total. The food was a 4 - 4 1/2 stars, fish and chips were good, fish was fried properly, the shrimp, oysters and clam strips were likewise very good. The fries lack seasoning but you can always add salt. The one disappointment was the coleslaw dressing, it was very bland Overall a tasty lunch though Now, what drags down that score? Two two-piece fish and chips, a captains plate, two clam chowders and two coleslaws--- $65.40. This is significantly more expensive than comparable nearby restaurants for fish and chips. The second factor is that today, the young man who was working behind the counter wasn't wearing a mask except for when he came to the register to take payment and hand the food over. All the time he spent preparing our lunch was sans mask. We have high risk individuals in our group and given the times we live in, we would have been more comfortable had he been wearing a mask all the time he was handling our food. read more

What a wonderful find! The clam chowder was AMAZING and gluten free! The right balance of herbs and clams! We also had the fish. If you want beer battered fish this is not your place but if you want quality fish in a wonderful light breading then you have to try this. Come have a beer and some great food! read more

Yum Fresh and tasty. Try the cioppino! Watch it being made!

Great spot for a quick lunch or dinner. Highly recommend the Kettlemac, with either crab or shrimp. Reasonable prices and good beer selection. read more

Have you been to Kettlefish yet? If not, stop reading right now, get down there and enjoy some fresh, local, lovingly prepared seafood, come back and write your own Yelp review - and then you can finish reading mine! This place is a real gem. I'm so glad we found it. First things first - it is clean, smells great, and they are using good Covid precautions. There is nice seating outside so that you can enjoy your seafood. They serve Penn Cove Mussels, Willapa Bay Oysters, and Hood Canal Clams. Need I say more? I had the bouillabaisse and hubby had the cod & chips. Both were fantastic and cooked just right. I was surprised and pleased to see that my stew wasn't just sitting in a pot getting old. No, it was assembled freshly while I waited and hubby's fish was fresh cooked too. We enjoyed a rare sunny December day outside while waiting for our food which the owner delivered himself. As we were finishing our lunch, the owner came out to check on us and asked if we'd been in before. We we said we were first timers, he said "wait right here" and came back with a free cup of chowder for us to share. It was really delicious- full of clams and potatoes and flavored just right. Shortly after that, a man walked by with a cup of chowder and hollered over "I would beat someone up over this chowder - it is THE BEST." Exactly. What he said. My family's one Christmas tradition is "seafood on Christmas Eve." We were in Silverdale running errands on Christmas Eve morning and were so pleased to find this place and keep up our Christmas Eve tradition. The food was incredible, but it is the service and the pride that the owner takes in his business that will bring me back. Please give this place a try. You'll be glad you did. read more

The wife had the single piece of and fries and I had the Captain's plate. Both meals were served hot and had excellent taste. The breading was perfect. My only issue was we should have grabbed some salt for the fries. Otherwise well done Kettle Fish. read more

This place is just amazing! I'm visiting from San Diego & wanted to try some seafood from the PNW and let me tell you, Kettlefish didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is adorable (located in Old Town Silverdale if I'm not mistaken) and the restaurant was very clean with a nice design to it as well. In the week I stayed here, I went twice because it was that good! And every time I got wonderful service from their hospitable staff. Very knowledgable on all the local beers/ciders I was curious to try along with my meal & so kind to me the entire time. When the food came out, I was in heaven. Delicious cod & chips, and the fried clams were my absolute favorite! The cod was tender, the breading was flakey and the fries were cooked to perfection instead of the usual oilness that usually turns me away from fish and chips. It's also worth noting* on my second visit I got the clam chowder & it was also great. I wish they had a location in SoCal but should I ever visit again this place is 100% on my To Do List. read more

One of the best things about the Silverdale Waterfront is THIS gem! Love the food and the causal atmosphere. We dined al fresco. It was bright blue skies, just the right temp. kind of day. I'm already thinking about when and what I'll be coming back for next time. Great variety of local seafood options, gluten free options for the bread lovers too. Reasonably priced, high quality and super friendly and accommodating staff. Went above expectations of a typical order at the counter atmosphere. We had the Alaskan cod fish and chips and they were a-maz-ing! Light and crispy and delicate with some really subtle but fantastic seasoning. I completely understand why this is a favorite here! I'm pretty sure it was the best fish and chips I've ever had. We also split the Cioppino which came with a nice sourdough (I believe) dinner roll, perfect for dipping. High quality fresh, local, delicate fish including shrimp, mussels, clams, crab and cod. It was enough to satisfy our hunger! The broth was perfect with just the right amount of seasoning; not too salty and not too bland. Perfectly cooked tomato, fresh herbs and celery and an ample variety of seafood; Piacevole! Seriously can't wait for our next visit! Bringing everyone here that I know. Edit: forgot to mention - yes the house made tartar sauce is the best! Also loved the variety of local beer (canned) and beers on tap. Had the Rainy Daze (canned) "Weirdoz" A New Zealand Pilsner. Tasty and the Snoqualmie Falls Root Beer - because I love a good root beer. Fresh seafood, great beer selection and nice atmosphere, doesn't get much better than that. read more

Kettlefish - Cioppino & Alaskan Single Cod and Chips - Seafood Near Me - Silverdale, Washington

Had the cod n chips and two orders of steamed clams. Outstanding, Delicious and the beer wasn't bad either.

Kettlefish offers several exciting bowls of soup and that is what we focused on. Each bowl comes with a lovely hard roll and butter. You place your order at the counter and then seat yourself. Your order is delivered to your table when it is ready. Both soups we ordered were terrific, we had the bouillabaisse and the chowder. Each was full of flavor and seafood. We loved the bread so much we went back in to purchase more. Clearly they offer fried fish and seafood options as well. We did not try them. We will be back. read more

Best Fish and Chips around, better then England. Staff is always friendly and the food is always fresh and superb. Cost is average and well worth every bite!!!!!!! read more

First time visit, I'll definitely be back. Quick, friendly service and great food. I got the 2-piece fish & chips. Solid chunks of cod, lightly breaded. I asked for extra tartar sauce, which I received but turned out it wasn't needed. The regular order provides plenty. Also grabbed a shrimp cocktail, which was a bunch of little tiny shrimp rather than the larger "normal" ones I'm used to. read more

I was super excited to try this place for the cioppino, it is my favorite food and I will order it whenever offered on a menu, so I have an idea of what a good cioppino should taste like. Going to a restaurant named Kettlefish I had high expectations and sadly they were not meet at all. The soup was bland and the fish was extremely chewy. It seemed as if the soup was sitting out all day, possibly for multiple days. Additionally the roll provide with the soup was extremely stale. In all I probably took three bites and ended up throwing away the rest of the food. If you are in Kitsap county I would highly recommend avoiding Kettlefish and trying one of the many other seafood restaurants that offer a better atmosphere, better service, and way better food. read more

Nice clean place, pleasant staff. I'm just not liking the prices. I didn't checked the menu before entering this place. I figured I gave it a try since I was in the area and starving. Anyway, I paid $8 ($10.90 w/ tax) for one piece of cod and chips (French fries) for my lunch. I had my eye on other dish that seems healthier, but my meal is the cheapest meal I can find in the menu. The cod batter, and French fries just okay, no special spices added to it. Same goes with their tartar sauce. I've had better tasted satisfying lunch many times at a lesser price. I did finished my lunch not because I enjoy the taste but because I didn't want to waste what I paid for. My stomach hurts after my meal, I should've known better than eating fried food. read more

I ordered on the phone, 5 mins later it was ready. Small and quaint with outdoor seating area. Friendly service.I had the fish and chips with clam chowder. The fish and chips were the best I've had in this area. I loved it. However, I prefer the chowder with out stomachs. The chowder was a little gritty and salty for me. But hey, you might like it. read more

The worst fish and chips I have ever had. Cod tasted like freezer burn, dripped water when you broke it apart to eat. Breading peeled of like a banana peel. Fries were seriously undercooked and just another frozen product dumped into a fryer. I could have gone to Skippers and gotten a better meal for less $$ read more

Good food and great service plus free yummy clam chowder when you show the Yelm app! Love the location no problem with parking.

Flavorful seafood. Our group tried cod & chips, fried clams, clam chowder, and the Pacific Pan Roast. Everyone was strategizing at the end what dish we would try next time. read more

Very good fish and fries. Clean establishment with friendly employees. Not a lot of seating so rush hour might be problematic. Walk-up order with delivery to the table. My only complaint. I love good tartar on fish and fries. Their tartar was so strong with onions or garlic or ??? That I might not go back. Maybe I could bring my own tartar and eat their hood fish. read more

We really enjoyed our fish and chips, hot and fresh. The staff was very friendly and the place is small and clean. Plain and easy, we must go again and sample some other menu items. I will mention I think the tartar sauce is awesome. read more

This place was an epic failure for my wife and I. It started out with an undrinkable coke, asked for another and they said the machine is broke and didn't offer any alternative. Waited over 20 minutes, and it wasn't even busy. Worst clam chowder I've ever had, more like bland soup. Food finally showed and the portion size was kid size. I sampled everything on my plate and was very unimpressed, while I glanced at my wife spitting hers out. We both looked at each other and walked out with 80% of our 40 dollar meal on the table. Figured there was no point in complaining if they couldn't fix a flat coke. read more

First time there. Nice looking place. Not very busy, which concerns me for their longevity. Had the Captain's Platter (cod, prawns, clams, a single oyster, clam strips, fries) and it was, well, OK. But at $18, not something I'd order again. Didn't care for the breading which seemed...manufactured I guess. I little too consistent and even. But, the server gave me a sample of clam chowder and that was GREAT, and only $5/cup. Would go back for the chowder, and will. So, these guys have some stiff competition, and need to round out their game, but have some strong points, and show potential. Give'em a shot. read more

Really excellent hometown joint. The fish and shellfish are at the peak of freshness. The clam chowder is some of the best I've had, not too bland, and the fried cod is delectable. Every once in the a while I ran across a soup or stew that could use more seasoning, but that is a small quibble. read more

Such amazing food! Best cod and homemade tarter sauce I've had. Highly recommend and the employees are super nice!

Portions too too small! Ridiculously expensive for the amount of food you get.

They are new so perhaps they can get better. Bouillabaise was flavorless and choked with far too much celery. We had to add hot sauce to give it any flavor at all. Fried items were limp, soggy, and lukewarm. Shrimp was cold under the breading. Very overpriced for the quality, at least at this stage of business development. I really don't understand how a region so rich in local seafood can have such poor options as the Kitsap region does. read more

Not good. The soda machine was broke so I asked for water and they charged me $1 a bottle. Ordered fish and chips, shrimp basket, clam chowder and coleslaw. Fish was not great. Skippers is better and I am not a big Skippers fan. Shrimp was just OK. Clam chowder seemed watery and not much flavor. The coleslaw is not good, we had two bites. What really ruined the experience was when the staff asked what I thought and the lady with purple hair started arguing with me about the items I disliked. Don't ask if you don't want to know. They are new so hopefully they will improve. read more

Average at best and overpriced. Be warned: if you ask for water, they give you a bottle and charge you $2. The food was fine, but nothing special, and wayyyyyy overpriced. I was expecting it to be great, was underwhelmed. Will not be going back unless they cut their prices in half. read more

We shared clam strips, fish & chips, clam chowder with crab, steamer clams - OMG good! The garlicky tarter sauce was a yummy surprise. We will be back! read more

If you like fresh, high-quality local seafood, without the fussyness of a fancy restaurant, Kettlefish should be your next stop. We live in Spokane and regularly visit Silverdale to visit family. Every time we are in town, we eat one or two meals at Kettlefish. We have been here probably a dozen times and were never disappointed. Their fish and chips and Captain's Platter are very tasty, but the amazing flavors are found in their seafood stews and soups: Bouillabaisse, Cioppino and Pacific Pan Roast. Theses are packed with excellent seafood and the broths are delicious. Local seafood, friendly staff, super clean with indoor and outdoor eating areas, as well as takeout. Enjoy! read more

Delicious, I love a good fish and chips. Fried clams is always a go to when I order as well.

Fast casual seafood that is outstanding. We had the cioppino and it was amazing - chowder is also excellent. Staff was very friendly.
