It was a beautiful afternoon after the previous day of clouds and rain, so the streets and restaurant were hopping. I feel we experienced good service for how busy the place was and we didn't have to wait very long for our food. Another strange detail was the bathroom situation. There was someone stationed there handing out soap and asking for tips in the men's bathroom, and when my brother-in-law was in there and said he didn't have cash, they suggested Venmo instead. Mine you - this is NOT a high-end place at all that would warrant that! It was uncomfortable, and the female bathrooms were also in very poor condition when I visited with vomit on two of the three toilet seats (and it was only 5 PM). Having attended 250+ White Sox games to date, it was a privilege to finally experience the Stadium Club at last night's match against the KC Royals (4/15/19). Big thanks to the generosity of Günther S for gifting us with a 4-pack of tickets. First things first: there is a separate entrance for Stadium Club passholders. Walking from the main parking lot, look for the giant green glass façade on the southwest side of the ballpark. Take an elevator up a few stories (fancy!) and security will scan your tickets. Right away, you'll notice how quiet things are compared to the chaotic din of the 100-level concourse. There is a modest dress code policy in effect - no ripped jeans, baggy pants, spaghetti straps or Borat-thongs. Not sure how strictly it gets enforced, though I'd rather not challenge the rules and risk getting turned away. Located in a deep corner behind the right foul pole, you're presented with an unusual slanted view of the field. For a serious fan, this might be a turn-off, but consider that most guests of the Stadium Club are corporate VIPs who may not give a sh*t about the baseball game unfolding before them. It's important to note that there are two levels: the 1st floor is where you can find the buffet and tiered seating at tables, while the 2nd floor houses the bar and dozens of leather sofas. You can get items a-la-carte at the bar; your only option downstairs is the buffet. Unlike the Scout Seats (behind home plate) and the Diamond suites (on the 200 & 400 level), this is NOT all-inclusive. The selection and pricing of the buffet varies throughout the week. On a sleepy Monday evening against a bottom-dwelling team, the food buffet was $28 plus a mandatory 18% gratuity.....and no free refills on pop. I'm told they host an incredible brunch buffet on Sundays. The food comes courtesy of Levy Restaurants, which means it's all high quality offerings (prime rib, angus beef sliders, DIY taco bar, dessert table). Much better than just peanuts and popcorn, don'tcha think? Bread = 4 Circuses = 4.5 A pint of Stella Artois is $9.50, craft beers are $10.50, and wine is in the neighborhood of $12. If you want a seat directly next to the window, it's an extra $5/person. Things can really start to add up in a hurry, so mind your spending while in here, Mr Moneybanks. Since it's more or less detached from the rest of the ballpark -- as well as being open on non-game days -- the Stadium Club is ideal for special company events, even in the offseason. Not to mention, you can get married here! (Nichole C shot down that idea, which is probably for the best) * TL;DR * Seeing a game from the Stadium Club isn't something I'd want to make a regular occurrence. Due to thick glass windows and other soundproofing, you can't hear the distinctive crack of the bat, which is one of those things that gives live baseball its homey 'je ne sais quoi'. The accommodations are very nice, the staff are friendlier than elsewhere in the park, and overall this is a great choice when mixing things up from the cheap seats. IF I come back, it'll be to try food items at the 2nd floor bar (most of which are exclusive to the Stadium Club). For someone who once snuck an entire 12" Jimmy John's sandwich in his pants so he didn't have to pay $7 for a hot dog, this place is just too rich for my blood. Nice digs, though.

STADIUM CLUB WARNING: Good food and friendly service, but Levy's payment process can easily cause…read morecustomers to tip twice. Our food-and-beverage subtotal was $190, and the check already included a mandatory 18% service charge of $34.20--15% distributed to service employees and 3% retained by Levy--but this was explained only in small, difficult-to-read print at the bottom of a narrow receipt. Levy's credit-card terminal then prompted us to select another percentage-based gratuity without prominently warning us that the service charge had already been added. Believing it was the normal tip screen, we selected 18%, adding another $44.25. Even worse, the terminal calculated that additional tip on the entire $245.84 bill, including taxes and the original service charge--effectively calculating a tip on top of a tip. Our final charge was $290.09, meaning we paid $78.45 in service charges and gratuity, more than 41% of the original subtotal. I only discovered this because I photographed the receipt and examined the calculations afterward. The food was good and our server treated us well, but this payment process is unfair and misleading. Customers should carefully inspect their checks, and Levy should clearly disclose the included service charge on the payment screen before requesting any optional additional gratuity.

The staff clearly adore him, the regulars all know him by name, and first-time visitors like us couldn't resist stopping to say hello. They even have photos of Bacon around the bar, which adds a fun personal touch. We shared the jumbo Bavarian pretzel, and "jumbo" is no exaggeration. It was easily the biggest bar pretzel I've ever seen. Soft, warm, and delicious, it was perfect for sharing over a couple of drinks while watching the games.
