A box truck arrived, and I asked about the semi and he told me that they were going to repack at a different location. Well, that seemed kind of odd because I was told that I would not have half of a semi of material and now I'm being told that it's going to be more so now that he's telling me it's gonna be more he's pointing fingers back at the people I talked to at the company and the company is pointing the finger back at him telling me to both wrong, but of course he's not gonna do anything until I pay him an additional fee I was looking for the semi that they had told me was going to be not quite half field with my belongings when the movers arrived I was informed by the supervisor that this would be more than had expected, and that the area would be more than a half of a semi, but they came with a rental truck that was maybe 24 feet box truck pack this truck at my home and go to the semi and they rit well in the day of the rival on 11 August I was told that they wanted the final payment and it could not be a personal check. It could not be credit card or debit card. It had to be in postal money orders so now I'm on my way to the post office for money orders for some over $4000. Once the movers start bringing the belongings in I see that I have been charged for additional packing and their packaging was and I have photos taking wardrobe boxes and just piling things in on top of each other. No packing material no nothing just pile it in a wardrobe box tape it up and I had several boxes this way and charged for additional packing. This was a nightmare you wouldn't believe but , I'm told that moving is one of the most difficult things that you do well I have moved several times in my life. This is the worst, it could not have been worse. I have other folks property in with my shipment and I am missing several boxes that I packed. I guess you should never say it couldn't have been worse, but it was terrible. Cross country Movers has a number of moving companies that just aresimply called Cross country Movers but my Movers came out of Maryland, and as I said, it could not have been worse. Anyone using this company after I write this review you get what you get. PS I have a new phone and the photos are on a thumb drive. I hired these movers because they were associated with Mayflower, and I read for the best moving experiences hire a big company, like Mayflower. I thought by paying a premium for a brand like Mayflower I would get a low stress experience... NOT. This place is an utter scam. The whole move was ACTUAL HELL. First the estimate was based on a Zoom call. I was moving out of a row home in Baltimore city. I showed the coordinator each room on video and we talked about what furniture would be taken. Ultimately the quoted me around $5,000 for the 1,500 mile trek, and I signed the bid. In the end the total move cost nearly $10,000 because they WOEFULLY underestimated my move, likely on purpose to win the bid. I'm fine paying for my weight, but don't lowball me. I would have sought other estimates if I was told $10k off the bat. On the actual moving day the movers showed up about 8 hour late. They were supposed to come early in the AM and didn't show up to nearly 5 pm. Once they arrived the labor had no idea that this was a whole house move. They were clearly trying to get off for the day, and called their manager to get the moved rescheduled. NO WAY. I needed to be out of the house by tomorrow and on my way to start my job on Monday. I had to FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL just to get them to follow through with loading the truck. The coordinator was incredibly rude and really tried to force me to move another day. Then came loading. The movers wanted to stop short of loading all my stuff. I said NO WAY. I paid for the WHOLE HOUSE to get loaded. I again had to fight with the loaders and coordinator at VIP to get them to continue loading. They were claiming the load was over the estimate. THE ESTIMATE THEY PROVIDED AND UNDERSHOT. NOT MY FAULT. In the end they got most things loaded, but I had to leave things behind. We ended up fight over each and every box. ACTUAL HELL. Then the delivery. The stuff came INCREDIBLY late. I got $900 back because it took like 40+ days to show up to my new house. When it arrived it had clearly been loaded and unloaded many times and kept in hot storage in the summer. Actual plastic bins HAD MELTED. So many items were damaged. A leg off an expensive midcentury teak table splintered off. A drawer broken on a $2,000 dresser. My bed frame was missing parts and completely broken. SO MANY BOXES OF SHATTERED STUFF, which had been meticulously packed with plenty of bubble wrap. Clearly boxes had been thrown. What did I get for all my broken stuff? Less than $200. I never thought hiring white glove movers would be SO TERRIBLE. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BOOK. Feels like an utter scam.

Absolutely the worst moving experience we've had. Between the two of us we have moved over 30…read moretimes in our lives. We are a successful, older, disabled couple and have moved on from cheap "glued sawdust" furniture to solid wood and antiques. We moved many of the most expensive items ourselves, however we could not move the larger items nor the less expensive items. Almost every one of our antiques was damaged. We paid for "full replacement" coverage with the understanding that we would receive full replacement cost for our items. The initial offer was pennies on the dollar with many claims denied even though photos of the items without damage were taken prior to moving and were provided. The reason the claims were either denied or provided reduced valuation was we didn't have receipts or their expert determined the damage was pre-existing. They sent someone out to inspect the damaged items, but apparently the person did not get a good description of our items even though they took and provided many photos. We still don't know if their "expert" was the person they sent out for the inspection, who had two whole years' experience fixing sofas, or if the expert was someone who looked at the photos taken by the sofa repair guy in some far away office. We disputed the valuation on many of the items. EVERY item we disputed was then demanded for salvage. Sounds a whole lot like a reprisal decision to me for demanding the company provide what was paid for. Due to several of our antiques needing rather extensive repairs and the exact items are not easily found we were forced to accept quarters on the dollar or face years in arbitration with our house a mess, because we were unable to move anything from where the company placed them. It has been almost 3 months since the claim for damage to our house was approved and I'm still waiting for our money. The damage to our household goods will cost in the neighborhood of $25k-$30k to fix or replace. Our settlement was just over $10k. I'll hire two drunks and rent a moving truck next time and probably be happier. United Van lines and Mayflower are the same company, just different names.

Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience…read more I had the unfortunate experience of being misled and ultimately abandoned by your company when you decided not to honor my scheduled moving service. Instead of being transparent, I was lied to, the claim was you all needed "five minutes" to look into rescheduling for the next day only to walk out and never return. There was no explanation, no courtesy of a conversation, and no regard for the fact that I urgently needed to move within the next two days. During our initial discussion, I clearly communicated my time-sensitive situation and I had no prepared myself to the standard in which you need me to be in order to provide me with your services that should have been clearly communicated. As a first-time customer using this or any moving company, I expected professionalism and basic respect. Instead, I was left without warning or resolution, forced to scramble for alternatives at the last minute. A simple, honest response such as, "We're unable to provide service today" would have been far more professional and understandable than outright deception and abandonment. I will never recommend your company to anyone, and I am deeply disappointed by the disrespectful treatment I received.

Leo was my initial contact; he was very helpful and knowledgeable and I knew right away that this was the company I was going to use for my move. The price he quoted was very reasonable and was lower than four or five other moving companies I had previously contacted. On the morning of the move, the crew was to be there at 8 am but unfortunately due to circumstances beyond their control they were delayed a couple of hours. They wrre quick to contact me to make me aware of the situation. Steve from dispatch and Leo both kept me apprised of the situation and the movers arrived and they were very polite and quite efficient. My furniture was wrapped in plastic, mattress cover placed on my mattress and all of my belongings were delivered without a scratch. They even made an additional stop to drop off some items to a storage unit. Overall they were professional, careful with my items, and very efficient. I was very pleased with the entire process and highly recommend Green Wheels Moving & Storage if you are ever in need of an outstanding moving company.

The cost was comparable to the 2 other quotes I had received. On the day of the move, I ended up in the hospital, and with a few friends to direct the process in my absence, it really went off without a hitch!!!!!!! When it came time to deliver everything, they were efficient and careful with most things and nothing was broken in the process. there were 3 issues... 1) they could not get a couch out of the old apartment (Even though it was brought in) and they left it and I had to pay to dispose of it. 2 )When they unloaded everything unbeknownst to me a number of items were placed in the garage. (I am in a wheelchair and couldn't watch everything. I had to pay someone else to bring them in to the condo. 3 ) I spent $250 for $25,000 in additional insurance and after unpacking I realized the tub with an essential computer for my business was missing. The computer while valued at $800 was secondary to the files and records on it that were not all able to be backed up. When I tried to find out what happened they said they talked with the lead mover and they didnt know what happened to it. And because I was still sick from being in the hospital and couldn't unpack everything quickly, they said because it was 14 days later that I could not make a claim. While the move was accomplished and with relatively little trauma, I can not recommend Orly moving.

The entire process from getting an accurate quote, to the team showing up on time, taking care of the items (they did the packing up of my mom's stuff as it was too difficult for me), to moving items to their eventual place, was easy. I used a different mover (found on CraigsList) when I moved out of my home into my apartment and I ended up doing at least 1/2 of the work. For my mom's move I sent Liz pictures of what was in her room, the team showed up on time after calling me when they were a few minutes out, were kind, packed things with care, and made sure I understood the process. Frankly the bar is so low for this type of work, that it isn't hard to be disappointed (showing up on time? Charging what the quote reflected?). The local team is great. Payment was easy. They work their butts off. When I eventually move again, I will only use Orly.
