I visited this restaurant at Ballsbridge with my family, ie my wife & 2 kids around 8PM . We enquired for a take away however the lad there requested for a dine in only . The restaurant was empty and we took a table & ordered the paani puri , since the kids were really interested in them , however the waiter lad refused to take the order saying that they could take an order for a minimum of €20 ( a portion of pani puris cost €6 ). We might ve ordered 4 - 5 portions , as we were 4 of us and were really craving for the pani puris. This was the most horrendous and inappropriate behavior and the most dis respectful conduct of a restaurant. They are the most inconsiderate rogues in this business and would never recommend this restaurant for families , unless they wish to be disrespected !! I honestly would never recommend this restaurant to any family & instead visit the Spice Village , Thindi , Kari or the Hyderabadi Kitchen in Dublin. The food taste might vary in these Indian restaurants , however would have the utmost customer care & quality at all times.

Decided to get a takeout order from this restaurant as reviews were good and I'm more a fan of South rather than North Indian food, although this restaurant seemed to have more Northie food items than local to their namesake area of Kerala. We ordered x3 things, but only got 2, so if you are ordering takeout, recommended checking the containers in front of the delivery person. We called the restaurant up and the person on the other end said they'd give us a credit for next time, but a star gets docked for that, which is a pity, cause otherwise, the food was very good! The Lamb Biryani was flavorful and the lamb itself was very tender. The rice only had its coloring from Turmeric - none of that ghastly fake coloring additives. It's normal for Indian restaurants to give yogurt as a compliment to a Biryani dish, but this was also missing for our bag. The Saag Paneer dish had a mighty spicy kick, but the taste was really robust and delicious. Big and generous pieces of Paneer calmed things a bit, but next time, I'm definitely asking for low to medium heat for this dish. We'd also ordered a naan bread which did not arrive, but they'd put in some papads, which were crunchy and tasty and not at all oily. Overall really liked the food, and so would definitely go here again, despite having to be cautious about ordering take-out food. Yelp 109/ 2019

This is my first visit to Kerala Kitchen. It is a very inviting looking restaurant. The plates are served warm so the food stays hot. I had the house fiery black pepper lamb curry. It was a beautiful blend of coconut curry with onions, green and red peppers, lamb and black peppers. Nice and fiery, but not overwhelming. I also had the Dahl. It was quite spicy, but I enjoyed it. ;) The lentils were a little firm which I prefer anyways. The pricing was very good, and there was great value for the price. Large helpings. They are able to make most items on the menu gluten free, but remember to ask about anything deep fried as it is a shared fryer. I will be back. Top notch food and service. 5 stars!

A very welcome addition to Baggot Street! It's hard to find a nice chicken tikka masala but this is something special. The creamy sauce is packed with flavour and the chicken is a whole new flavour bomb of its own! Great somas too! (spicy) There is a really cool room upstairs were you can eat your food if eating in. it over looks Baggot Street. The staff are super friendly as of the time of revising the it was BOYB. If you're not in the mode of eating in, get it to go!

I don't like to throw around 5 stars lightly, but I'm not sure it gets better than this place! There's tons of Indian places in the city, but I haven't been so quick to love the food like I have in this place. Comparing curries after the fact is difficult, so many are similar, so many are good, it's hard to decide what place has the best. But, I have to say, the chicken Korma here is the best I've ever had! Not just in the city, in general. Every place does it differently but the one here is packed with flavor, not overly sweet, plenty of chicken, super thick and creamy, just perfection. The samosas and particularly the onion bhaji are also excellent! The Tikka Masala is delicious, but fairly spicey compared to most other places. The naan is also a must here, as is the chicken 65 which I had never heard of before, but has tons of flavor. Love the upstairs seating area, big long tables that are perfect for any group, and a great view of Baggot Street below. Modern in it's decor, it's a very tasteful spot that is still cozy and casual. Great staff, very friendly. All of the basics you know and love are on the menu, and they're all done really well. You can tell when you're getting the real deal, and not a watered down curry from yesterday, and this place really is the real deal. I can't wait to come back and try more from the menu, because everything we've had so far has been incredible. Price point is definitely average, and considering the quality of the food (and portion) I'm surprised they're not charging more to be honest. BYOB is just the icing on the cake! Baggot Street wines is right next door, and being able to BYOB here is just a deadly combo! I'll be back here often, that's for sure.

Kerala Kitchen is a great addition to Upper Baggot Street! Kerala Kitchen are an independent and locally owned business, previously could be found at pop up lunch markets and now they have a new home! Place/pay for your order at the till and then make your way to any of the seating downstairs or upstairs.... They'll then bring the food to you. We were shown to the upstairs dining room which is just so dam cute! Order of the day is just straight up awesome Indian food in a very casual setting. Having just opened, they openingly spoke about having to iron some things out and I've no doubt once all the staff are comfortable, this place will go from strength to strength and I for one, am excited to have them 1min walk from where I live! Food was amazing, I had the chicken 65 dish which is a dry dish and it really delivered coated in beautiful spices this was a great healthy option. My husband had the chicken tikka masala, chicken was so tender and the flavour, oh the flavour... Yum yum! We shared a portion of Veg Samosa and they were super tasty, they pack a punch which I love but those who like their food mild, might not enjoy these... But, they pleased me! You can order to take out too plus if you have leftovers from dining in, you can grab a take away bag and savour them leftovers later! They are set to be a BYOW place though they've not set a corkage fee; love BYO becoming so popular along Baggot Street and I'll be looking forward to bringing my own wine and enjoying a great curry. Dining space is spacious and is perfect spot for a group or just to enjoy a date night. Can't wait to go back!!

Nice menu!

Nice! So you order downstairs, as a take away, and then you can sit on the veeery nice and cosy 1st floor room, and they bring you your order! Just an advice, the place is small so just go upstairs check if there is enought space before ordering! I had veg samosa and korma chicken. The chicken was perfect, with his coconut sauce ! I definetely recommand you to try, but dont expect a fancy gastronomic indian restaurant, is a cosy spot to eat nice indian food and the prices are ok! (1 starter + 1 dip, 1 main + 2 naan=17€!)

A great spot to grab a bite. I've gotten takeaway several times. The lunch deals are the best deal, but even dinner isn't too terribly expensive. As a vegetarian, meatless options are important to me, and Kerala Kitchen doesn't disappoint. The saag paneer is some of the best I've ever had. The naan is freshly made and you can really tell. I would highly recommend Kerala Kitchen for delicious takeaway for lunch or dinner.

Comfy seating area. They used old rice bags to make cushions- nice decor detail.

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant- Friendly and helpful staff. Nice airy decor. Good quality cheaply priced Indian food. The same staple Indian dishes you find in most Indian restaurants in city. Great seating area upstairs with giant window can happily watch world go by as you chow down!Good choice for casual dining! I'd happily visit again.

Indian food was visually appealing but some what bland for main dishes. Nan was superb and the chutneys were good. Room was hot and very loud . With the size and the layout the only way it wouldn't be hot and loud would be if you were alone. BYOB a bonus if we had known in advance. Overall the food is good if you judge it on its own but I have eaten better Indian with more diverse flavors.

Mango lassi, sublime!

Everything we tried was super tasty, the spices were balanced, the presentation was great, and not too spicy for our pallet. Chicken Biryani rice (€29.9), with a bready top that was taken off by the server, side of yogurt, side of masala sauce. Super tasty dish 10/10. Potato cake appetizer (€13.5), super tasty, it was topped with complementary sauces, well balanced between savory, sour, and tart. Excellent appetizer. Puri Chaat? (€15), They didn't list it on the menu, I asked for it and the chef was nice enough to create it for me. Super tasty and not too spicy We also go the slow cooked Wicklow lamb to go (€28.5), the meat was super tender, the flavors were excellent, some of the best Indian flavored lambs I've ever tried. The price for two people without drinks is (€104.65), which is on the pricy side, but the flavors and experience was worth it. All in all, I tried this place about 6 years ago and it was great and I tried it again and they still kept their high quality tasty food. Definitely recommend

I visited their Camden St. location which is an area of Dublin that's buzzing with restaurants. Other more highly rated Indian restaurants (which were also more expensive) were all booked up, and I'm glad they were, since Diwali was right up our alley for tastes as they provided delicious food and excellent service. The music was great, and decor just right for ambiance. Meals start off with complimentary papadum and various chutneys, which is always appreciated. For drinks, we got the mango lassi and Cobra beer. The mango lassi had the perfect yogurt and mango accents without being too sweet, and was better than even the highly rated restaurants we went to in London. The Cobra beer was decent with regards to flavor. We tried the onion bhaji and chicken pakora to start off. The onion bhaji was a little bit oily, but great in taste and presentation, leaving us wondering how it was made as it was a pull apart variety while still preserving the chickpea batter accent with each bite. The chicken pakoras were also good, with a batter spiced just right. For main course, we ordered the butter chicken along with pulau rice and a naan. Nothing groundbreaking with regards to recipe, but just fresh and delicious food for these items. The pulau rice was better than plain basmati rice, and naan was a thin, but very generous portion. The food was so good that we returned a second night after being indecisive on where to go for dinner. The manager noticed us and provided us with mango lassi and a sampling of an aloo dish on the house, thanking us for being repeat guests. I love it when management shows such a genuine appreciation for customers like that. Service was attentive and on top of their game throughout both our visits. I'd recommend a visit to the Camden Street location of Diwali Indian Restaurant when in the mood for delicious Indian food when in Dublin.

Well.. I do say…read more. That was simply the best meal I've had out in donkeys years. Truly the dogs pyjamas. It's no wonder it's in the Michelin guide, no Burger King or kebab Princesses here, let me tell ye. Not the usual 3 in 1 I got for, but this night was a special occasion.. a celebration of love and good fortune of which I am eternally grateful. A ham sanger and a wank would not suffice this Valentines Day to be sure to be sure. I brought my love through the open legs of Ananda and up to her warm bosom for an Indian embrace. All in after a tamarind cocktail to lube us up for an evening of meat slapping and spicey divilment. It was Saint Valentines birthday, after all.. Another entrée young Rajesh! We were here to spend. I had just landed a new high paying role with a formidable company and was in a feckless mindset brought on by the sexual ambience and perky nature of my lover. The service was uplifting, they hilariously all wait patiently about 2 foot away so as not to intrude and wait to be called, even though they know exactly when ye need another cocktail. Lol. Makes you feel like a real (Burger) King summoning his servants to dispose of your freshly filled nappies. Another tequila young squire! The food..a delight for all the senses, "tudo perfeito," my luscious Latin lady would later go on to whisper in my ear at the nightly climax. Usually, I'd fill a doggy bag to bring home for Max, but on this occasion, we left the plates emptier than a french synagogue in 1943. Massive portions busting with more spice than the brasserie in front of me around my wifes neck desperately trying to secure in her enormous tits. Fuck! And the dessert? Awf.. shtap. It was like sucking the Easter rabbits nipples drizzled in chocolate syrup. Take my money! I demand to pay! And pay we did. Then, a quick nip to the ol' head for a pipe squirt and a tingley poop as per usual after a west End Indian, not this time, though. Even my farts smelled like freshly cooked rosewater, cinnamon, and saffron biscuits. Needless to say.. when we got home, I took my partner's unmentionables off one leg at a time, persevered, sweated, and reached the tunnel of solitude until.. ugh.. silent grace and a peaceful dawn befell unto me, and we reached a sense of true oneness. Thank you, Mr Ananda, for more than just a meal, a new outlook on existence itself. For you I will gladly sleep in a wet patch.
