Samosa

Top tier Indian food. Butter chicken, garlic and coriander Naan, Samosas, Onion Bhajis. We got the early bird special and had a reservation. The inside is pretty small would suggest a reservation if you're going at a busy time.

I'm still waiting!

This is not the place to go for a Korma - really, it is basically just hot cream, not great. Nor is it a place to go if you are really really hungry as the gap between when you sit and order in the very pleasant surrounds taking in the dimly lit busy dining room, quaffing wine and when the food actually arrives can be considerable. However, if you have time and prefer a hotter curry then KonKan can be a great venue for a night out. We have been there with groups a few times and always enjoyed ourselves. They have a modest selection of wines and are not overly expensive. Definitely worth a bash!

Onion Bhaji, main course size (starter has two). Really good Bhaji here.

I love Konkan. It's our favourite and nearest Indian restaurant. How cool is that? For starters, the meat platter is excellent, as are the Onion Bhajis. Our most favourite dish here is the Butter Chicken. It's delicious and we order it every visit. The Chicken Cafreal is good also. If partaking in a tipple, we still go for the Teresa Rizzi Pinot Grigio. The staff are so polite and very friendly. I highly recommend Konkan.

I debated giving this place four stars, but the more I wrote the more I couldn't justify giving it the full marks. This place is close to my home, and we found it a little randomly on a Saturday. We had heard some good things about it, and we knew where it wav because we pass it often on our way to MVP, so we decided to make it the dinner spot on a date night. No pressure! We arrived early and ended up having the early bird menu - no big deal because it's very varied and it has all our favorites. The food is excellent, some of the best Indian food I had. Now I'm no expert on Indian food, and I'm sure if I had true Indian food I would cringe at all the spice - I am after all a huge fan of Korma in all its mildness. But this food definitely feels authentic and it's also extremely well presented. And yes, the lamb Korma is to die for. The decor is very tasteful, while still having a lot of Indian flavor. I'm usually not one to notice these things, but since it was date night I did feel pleased the the atmosphere was fitting to the mood of the evening. And the service is, honestly, what tipped this place to 5 stars. The waiters were all incredibly nice, polite and helpful. We were suffering from a bit of indecision, especially when picking the wine, and everyone was more than patient. So now you know why I had to go back and give this place the 5 stars. And since this we have not only been back, we've also ordered from there and it has always been consistently excellent.

Charming little Indian restaurant in Portobello! We had dinner here a few weekends ago with another couple and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. They have a decent wine selection (including a few Indian wines) and both al a carte or tasting menu options. We decided to share a variety of starters as well as our mains. The standout starters for me were the onion bhajis and the lamb kebab. For mains I loved their Palak Paneer and of course the Chicken Tikka Masala, but the other dishes were nice as well. After consuming our weight in naan, Tarka Dal and pilau rice we did not have room for dessert, but I'm sure it would have been equally tasty. Konkan takes online reservations and offers takeout/delivery as well. Will return!

Yummy Indian food.. The papaddums are delicious as are the dips that accompany it. For main course - the husband had butter roti whereas me had the garlic naan.. I preferred the roti over the naan though both being equally tasty. However, the star of the evening was undoubtedly the butter chicken.. Mildly flavoured without heavy greasy gravy.. had it with pilau rice and side dish of dal. The ambience was mellow and subtle. a little too dim lit but not a big con.. Recommended!

Garlic and coriander naan- eggplant curry and other amazing dishes. They were so good we kept ordering and ordering.

I come from a south Asian household and grew up eating North and South Indian food. This has to be one of my favourite restaurants ever. Handsdown, this is the BEST Indian food in Dublin. And I've tried a lot of the other restaurants. The food has amazing flavour and uses good quality ingredients. Do try the Goan fish curry - if you ask.. They'll make a Goan shrimp curry. That is my absolute favourite here from what I tried. The mango with shrimp AppetIzer is also good! The mango Lassi is a refreshing drink with some cardamom. I absolutely love it here- even as good as some of the food from India itself, and as good as some of the Indian restaurants in Toronto. I've tried many Indian restaurants in Dublin which serve horrendous food but get rave reviews- which leads me to think Dublin doesn't know Indian food. No offense. But you want great flavours, creamy curries and amazing naan? COME HERE. If you want real Indian flavours, classy seating and great service... Go to Konkan!

Everything we tried was super tasty, the spices were balanced, the presentation was great, and not too spicy for our pallet. Chicken Biryani rice (€29.9), with a bready top that was taken off by the server, side of yogurt, side of masala sauce. Super tasty dish 10/10. Potato cake appetizer (€13.5), super tasty, it was topped with complementary sauces, well balanced between savory, sour, and tart. Excellent appetizer. Puri Chaat? (€15), They didn't list it on the menu, I asked for it and the chef was nice enough to create it for me. Super tasty and not too spicy We also go the slow cooked Wicklow lamb to go (€28.5), the meat was super tender, the flavors were excellent, some of the best Indian flavored lambs I've ever tried. The price for two people without drinks is (€104.65), which is on the pricy side, but the flavors and experience was worth it. All in all, I tried this place about 6 years ago and it was great and I tried it again and they still kept their high quality tasty food. Definitely recommend

I visited their Camden St. location which is an area of Dublin that's buzzing with restaurants. Other more highly rated Indian restaurants (which were also more expensive) were all booked up, and I'm glad they were, since Diwali was right up our alley for tastes as they provided delicious food and excellent service. The music was great, and decor just right for ambiance. Meals start off with complimentary papadum and various chutneys, which is always appreciated. For drinks, we got the mango lassi and Cobra beer. The mango lassi had the perfect yogurt and mango accents without being too sweet, and was better than even the highly rated restaurants we went to in London. The Cobra beer was decent with regards to flavor. We tried the onion bhaji and chicken pakora to start off. The onion bhaji was a little bit oily, but great in taste and presentation, leaving us wondering how it was made as it was a pull apart variety while still preserving the chickpea batter accent with each bite. The chicken pakoras were also good, with a batter spiced just right. For main course, we ordered the butter chicken along with pulau rice and a naan. Nothing groundbreaking with regards to recipe, but just fresh and delicious food for these items. The pulau rice was better than plain basmati rice, and naan was a thin, but very generous portion. The food was so good that we returned a second night after being indecisive on where to go for dinner. The manager noticed us and provided us with mango lassi and a sampling of an aloo dish on the house, thanking us for being repeat guests. I love it when management shows such a genuine appreciation for customers like that. Service was attentive and on top of their game throughout both our visits. I'd recommend a visit to the Camden Street location of Diwali Indian Restaurant when in the mood for delicious Indian food when in Dublin.

Well.. I do say…read more. That was simply the best meal I've had out in donkeys years. Truly the dogs pyjamas. It's no wonder it's in the Michelin guide, no Burger King or kebab Princesses here, let me tell ye. Not the usual 3 in 1 I got for, but this night was a special occasion.. a celebration of love and good fortune of which I am eternally grateful. A ham sanger and a wank would not suffice this Valentines Day to be sure to be sure. I brought my love through the open legs of Ananda and up to her warm bosom for an Indian embrace. All in after a tamarind cocktail to lube us up for an evening of meat slapping and spicey divilment. It was Saint Valentines birthday, after all.. Another entrée young Rajesh! We were here to spend. I had just landed a new high paying role with a formidable company and was in a feckless mindset brought on by the sexual ambience and perky nature of my lover. The service was uplifting, they hilariously all wait patiently about 2 foot away so as not to intrude and wait to be called, even though they know exactly when ye need another cocktail. Lol. Makes you feel like a real (Burger) King summoning his servants to dispose of your freshly filled nappies. Another tequila young squire! The food..a delight for all the senses, "tudo perfeito," my luscious Latin lady would later go on to whisper in my ear at the nightly climax. Usually, I'd fill a doggy bag to bring home for Max, but on this occasion, we left the plates emptier than a french synagogue in 1943. Massive portions busting with more spice than the brasserie in front of me around my wifes neck desperately trying to secure in her enormous tits. Fuck! And the dessert? Awf.. shtap. It was like sucking the Easter rabbits nipples drizzled in chocolate syrup. Take my money! I demand to pay! And pay we did. Then, a quick nip to the ol' head for a pipe squirt and a tingley poop as per usual after a west End Indian, not this time, though. Even my farts smelled like freshly cooked rosewater, cinnamon, and saffron biscuits. Needless to say.. when we got home, I took my partner's unmentionables off one leg at a time, persevered, sweated, and reached the tunnel of solitude until.. ugh.. silent grace and a peaceful dawn befell unto me, and we reached a sense of true oneness. Thank you, Mr Ananda, for more than just a meal, a new outlook on existence itself. For you I will gladly sleep in a wet patch.
