Being an American I've heard plenty about how South Asian cuisine is better across the pond. Being a fan of Asian food in general I was determined to try Indian cuisine at least once during my trip. Considering how expensive it is to eat in Dublin and considering how close this was to my hotel I had this twice and was impressed with my food both times! The restaurant space is quite small to eat in and most of their orders are for takeaway. The plastic containers used for takeaway is quite sturdy and I'd be reusing them again if I was a local. Service was great. They threw in a single piece of veggie samosa for good measure as a typical order comes in a set of 3. They even put in a little chutney sauce for dipping. There's plenty of potato and some peas in the samosa. I ordered one chicken and one lamb dish. I love spicy curries so I ordered the curries that come naturally spicy. The curries are made to order so expect at least a 10 minute wait while they cook your dish. - Chicken Madras (Curry from southern coast of India cooked with fresh coconut and curry leaves, €10.50). Madras is a British interpretation of curry found in South India. It is red due to the chili powder and there's usually a "milk" base to it, similar to Thai curries. The chicken pieces are big and there's plenty of curry left over to finish the rice. - Lamb Jalfrezi (Stir-fried lamb with onions, peppers and tomato flavoured with carom seeds, Stir-fried lamb with onions peppers and tomato flavoured with carom seeds, €11.50). Jalfrezi is Indian-Chinese made spicy because the meat is cooked usually with green peppers and onions. This dish was properly spicy and there's a good amount of lamb meat. There was enough curry left over to finish the rice. This was made by the suggestion of a local who overheard me asking for a recommendation for preferred lamb curries as I had chicken. This is reasonably priced comfort food considering how expensive it can be to eat out in Dublin. If this were in the US this would easily be my go-to place for Indian food to go. read more

We were staying at a nearby hotel and smelled the lovely spices of Indian food each time we passed by. One night we had to stay in, so we got some canned beer and stopped by here. It was pretty good Indian food, with a small menu but big servings. The paneer was really good--not too squeaky rubbery like what's found at some places. The chala wasn't as spicy as what I am used to, but still it was good takeout food. The naan was particularly tasty , so if you are choosing between the rice and the naan, go for the latter. read more

This right here is the most authentic Indian food I've had inside Dublin and this comes from an Indian. I haven't visited the restaurant in person but just ordered home delivery and had a really pleasant experience. I got the Chicken Tikka starter which had just the right amount of spice to it. For main course, I got the Saag Paneer which actually had a very strong aroma of Spinach (unlike other restaurants in Dublin that end up overcooking this dish). The Paneer was delicate and was delicious to bite into. I enjoyed this with a portion of Lemon Rice on the side which constantly kept reminding me of how my mum would make it back in Madras. All-in-all, it was a really enjoyable meal and I must admit that I haven't had such good Indian food in a very long time. Highly recommended. read more

This is an excellent Indian place (and a reminder of how much better Indian food is in Europe vs. the US...us poor Americans). There's barely any room to sit down in here and the place is very hot so I'd suggest getting take-away only. It's clear that the food is very authentic and that everything is cooked to order. I really appreciated that dishes were clearly labeled with allergens (nuts, dairy, etc.) making it an easy place for vegans and/or people with other dietary restrictions to eat at. My parents and I ordered a couple different veggie dishes including the onion fritters, channa masala, daal, and bombay aloo. Everything was very flavorful and not oily which, for me, is the single biggest issue with Indian food. You'll see some standard Indian dishes on the menu which were all done very well along with some more unique items (such as the onion fritters). The channa masala was some of the best I've ever had. Not particularly authentic but I also really enjoyed the potato wedges. The portions were solid and they pack up everything nicely in plastic boxes. If I lived in Dublin I'd come here all the time and will definitely be back when I visit! read more

I am proud to say I'm on a first name basis with the fella that drops off my Siri to my apartment. If you disagree and think I'm a weirdo, then you are elitist. Siri is by far the best Indian food in Dublin, and given my nonexistent South Asian roots I'm the overly confident in my statement just like my President Elect on his twitter account. Don't believe me? SAD! I have eaten here 13 times in 6 months. Not technically there, because it is mainly a takeout only place. They do deliver, obviously, but probably only around city center. Use Just-Eat or their own website delivery app online. Chicken masala is da-bomb. Not to spicy or sweet, just right. Naan is fluffy and tasty. Vegitable mamosas are adequate. No complaints from this guy. Try it out y'all! read more

Nice little spot in downtown Dublin for some casual Indian. Lunch special is a great value at about $10 per person for an app and a main course. The reason this rating is pretty low is because the chicken tikka masala I got for lunch was SOOOOOOOO SOO SO SO sweet. Dessert sweet. Not spicy or savory, it just tasted like dessert. We are big fans of another Indian take away in our house but after numerous times walking home past Siri with the amazing smells coming from it making our mouths water and making us wish dinner wasn't already waiting for us at home, we decided to give it a try. It's one of the best Indian take aways I've eaten in Dublin. The menu is more limited than other Indian take aways I've used but having gotten food from here a few times now it means that every dish is delicious. Great flavours! The samosas, onion bhajia and seekh kebab are amazing. We had Murgh Makhan Palak last night; chicken which was cooked with spinach and tossed with onion and tomato. Having tired of fish and chips and Irish pub food I decided to try out Siri just last night and I was amazed. I ordered the dinner deal which included Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice, Naan, and a drink for only 11.50. The Chicken Tikka itself had the perfect amount of spice -the spice that has you reaching for water, but doesn't keep you from finishing your meal. The "deal" also came with quite a large amount of food and I had trouble finishing it all! I'm going back home tomorrow and the only thing I could think to eat for dinner tonight was the Chicken Tikka Masala from Siri, so I have another to-go platter sitting across from me as I'm writing this! read more

I can't say enough about this place, I've tried almost everything on the menu with my favorite pick being the Prawn Jalfrezi. I usually order it spicy. This isn't a painful hot but flavorful, memorable and enveloping type of spicy that will get you hooked. The owner and staff are very friendly as well. There's one cook in particular, a younger, skinny guy probably in his 20's who really knows what he's doing - tasting as he goes and pushing out solid, consistent plates full of flavor like a professional, it's fun just to watch them cook. Also try the Saag Paneer, full of richness and flavor but not too heavy. Overall my favorite Indian place in Dublin. I had been looking for an Indian place for a while before getting to this place. First of all the staff are very friendly and attentive. It's more like a takeaway place, grab and go, but still there are seats available if you are not in a rush and feels like having a seat. My partner and I both had the Chicken Tikka Masala and it wasn't disapointing. The dish is considered to be medium-spicy but for my taste it was more than that but it didn't turn out to be a problem once I love spicy food. The dish is served with an Indian butter bread which is amazing. You can either dip it into the chicken sauce or having it on its own, either way it is just perfect. I haven't had the chance to come back and try other dishes but I'm looking forward to it. It's worth dropping by and try it yourself. read more

I don't give fives almost on principal but some times I loose control and throw it down. . Some of the best take out INDIAN ever. Flavor was very good. It is take out only but if you need to get out and get some exercise the place smells heavenly inside...as if you weren't already hungry enough. My favorite Indian takeaway in Dublin. They do a very reasonable Cardamom Set Menu for Two (Chicken Tikka or Chicken Wings starter, one Vegetarian Main Dish and one Chicken or Lamb Main Dish, Two Pilao Rice, Naan Bread, and two drinks) for 25eu, which my partner and I usually get. There's a small counter space for eating in, and you can get a peek into the kitchen as it's all one big area. Lovely saag paneer and other veggie options. The staff are very friendly as well. My only gripe is that the food is always served in takeaway containers, even if you are eating in. I hope that in the future Siri might offer plates and cutlery for eating in and switch to more eco-friendly/compostable takeawat materials. read more

This review would be a bit different if I was writing it maybe a year ago. Things have changed since then in Siri. I would have said it was the best Indian takeaways back then. And its still one of the best after the changes. From the current menu the best dishes would be: Garlic chicken, Prawn biryani, Butter chicken and the tandoori chicken. They also occasionally do specials like south indian dishes and typical Indian breakfast dishes. They used to do Aloo bonda (potato cakes), Chana Bhatoora (chick pea curry with fried bread) which were absolutely to die for. Delicious made to order Indian food that is just steps away from ChristChurch. Honestly, I thought it was too good to be true so I looked in the window and then walked past. But when I was passing by it just smelled delicious so I turned around and went in. I had the SaagPaneer which was just decadent. Fresh spinach, lovely paneer, and lots of good garlic. The people behind the counter were super friendly too. My only complaint at all is that I ate in and still ended up with disposable plastic/utensils because I hate the waste. Found this very nice takeout place on the way back from the Guinness factory. Location is great and it is across the street from the oldest church in Dublin. The food was amazing! I eat a lot of Indian food and this is some of the best but I have had in a very long time. The owner was friendly and took great care of my group of nine friends and I who took over the small but very nice place. I highly recommend it. read more
