I came here on the recommendation of others and am glad I did. The pani puri was a special appetizer. With the flavored waters, it each bite is a different experience from sovory to spicy. I wanted a dish with a little heat and the haldi chili prawns fit the bill. I used the rice to absorb the finger licking sauce. I was told the owner works the floor occassionally and gives great adice on meals. I look forward to being there for that experience in the future. read more

This is my first visit to Ravi's Kitchen. Wow! I eat a lot of Indian food, but the food and service was some of the best I have had. Tonight I had the lamb Roganjosh and the Okra. This meal was spot on, and the spicing was exceptional: there was a great balance of spice, heat, and flavour. The fat level was quite pleasant and there was beautiful use of green cardimom pod in the Roganjosh, and black cardimom pod in the Okra. The lamb was soft and flaked apart nicely under my fork without being dry. The service was quick, and polite, and I was able to walk in without a reservation. The place is spotless, clean, well furnished and has some extra touches in place including nice woodwork, and woven place mats and special cushions to sit on. Great experience. 5 stars! read more

This is my 5* Indian restaurant in Dublin so far. Prices are really decent, they have a 2 dishes deal for just 10€ and I wasn't able to finish it. The taste of the food is amazing and the owner told us that if we don't like very spicy we could order it milder since they made everything from scratch. Having been here a number of times now that we've settled into Dublin, it's easy to say Ravi's is one if the more hospitable restaurants in town. The food is always wonderful and if you are a vegetarian, you are in for a treat with their specials. Of course, the lamb and chicken is also fantastic. Try the kingfisher beer for a refreshing change, for non-alcoholic drinks, try the yogurt mango smoothie.. Outstanding Indian cuisine. I talked with the chef asking for recommendations and he went into great detail about a few of his specialties. He asked for my preferences in spices and flavors and then gave me a sample of what he came up with for me. I ended up getting the lamb rogan josh with the sauce tweaked to my liking. The lamb was super tender, not too fatty, and full of pungent Indian flavor. Samosas were home made and very good. Naan and rice were great. Quality seems to be a big deal here and the chef wants to please. Prices were very reasonable and service was fast for takeout. Would definitely come here again any time I'm in the area! read more

I've been here on work trips for lunch and dinner. I used to work a lot in India, and am fairly picky with my Indian food - and can heartily say that they do it well at Ravi's. The family owned atmosphere, varied menu, presentation and quality are all top notch. I haven't had anything there I didn't enjoy, and I would say it's one of two of my favorite Indian restaurants I've eaten at not in India, and certainly the classiest. I've gotten take away here for the last few months and the quality of the food is amazing. You can tell the ingredients are sourced well and are always fresh. I've never had Indian food so good - you can taste all the different spices in each dish and the meat is so tender. Ravis is the best Indian food you will get in Dublin. Their spicy dishes are packed full of heat- if it's too much for you, just let them know when you order and they will make it more mild for you. Service is great, it's like going over to a neighbor's house for dinner. My husband, who typically won't even try Indian food, loves Ravis...that's a big deal. Only complaint is takeaway quality is not nearly as good as when you eat in. The takeaway isn't bad, but definitely doesn't do the food justice. read more

For once I will be brief...I've been wanting to try this place for a while given the reviews. I finally had my chance a couple weeks ago, and maybe I expected too much, but I was completely underwhelmed. The tikka masala was okay but pretty unmemorable. I guess if you live close by it is an easy option for Indian takeaway but I much prefer the quality/flavours at Rasoi in Ranelagh. You could also argue that if you are spending that amount in takeaway you might as well spend a bet more and get the real deal at Diwali or Punjabi. Pass. read more

Didn't know there was a rule where everyone HAS to order per person and sharing main courses was not allowed. I have always felt Europeans are really getting short changed when it comes to Indian food as restaurant choices are limited and only a handful are worth the exhorbitant prices. I was visiting from the US and tried them as I was in the neighborhood. Really terrible food...undercooked and overly spicy. I asked if I could get it made mild and the server refused. The best Indian food I've had ever tried it last night simply beautiful. Got the lal maans spicy but delicious the lamb was so good it strips apart not at all dry. No not one bit. They don't have a dessert menu but the chocolate dessert was really nice (I have no idea what it's called the waiter said all the options quite fast all I heard was chocolate and that's always good in my book) the Palau rice was good and so was the name bread I highly recommend it. Portions aren't to big just right. The decor was beautiful and the cushions were extremely comfy with a back cushion too just note there is one grumpy looking waiter but the other waiter is great at his job. To boot, when the owners realized my (jet lagged) twin boys were having a birthday the next day they provided them with ice cream and then gave them a tour of the kitchen so they could watch sweet naan being made for them. We went to this amazing little restaurant on a quiet Sunday night while visiting Dublin, it was honestly the best Indian food, as an Indian person, that I have ever eaten! The yogurt was amazing with fresh cucumbers and tomatoes with cumin seeds roasted to perfection, the naan was awesome, the lamb and cauliflower and potatoes were on point, and the service was amazing too!
