This is a nice spot for a date night. Somewhere upscale. Very attentive waitstaff. They have a variety of delicious foods on menu and allow you to adjust the slickness if needed.

We had a lovely dining experience. Ordered chicken tikka masala, masu ra saag (spinach and lamb dish), veg fried rice, and garlic naan. All were excellent except the naan missed the mark... I prefer butter and herbs with the garlic and bread. Fried rice was actually more like biryani and better than expected. The crowning glory was the chocolate mint ice cream dish, perfect to share and we fought over the last bits. I don't know why this isn't rated higher, we leave very satisfied.

I needed to spice up my culinary excursions during my trip, so decided to stop by Kathmandu, as I love Nepalese cuisine. I went early enough on a Saturday evening (before 7) that I was able to take advantage of their appetizer/entree deal. I ordered the khasi ko kebab, Himalayan lamb curry, and naan. The kebab was well-flavored, and reminded me of shami kabob. The lamb curry was also quite flavorful and hearty, and plenty of lamb in it. The garlic naan was good and they did not skimp on the garlic! I love that papadum is provided to start the meal. Service was friendly and I noticed they offered a lunch deal too. It's in a touristy area, but if you are nearby and want a good meal, definitely stop in.

Are you on vacation in Dublin, Ireland and craving Indian food?! Then I'd recommend Kathmandu Kitchen, they have excellent Indian/Nepalanese food. Most importantly, they have an affordable lunch special especially if you are on a budget. Basically for 8 Euros, their lunch special includes an appetizer and a main dish. FYI, they have a variety of tasty dishes you can choose from and they accommodate vegetarian. I'd ordered the vegetable pakora for appetizer! I was blown away by the colorful balls compounded with all types of delicious vegetables and a touch of corn, which was deep fried. For my main dish, I ordered their spicy lamb curry with a side of basmati rice. If you prefer to have your curry cooked mild or medium spicy, then they are happy to accommodate to your preferences. My friend ordered their chicken biryani which was not part of the lunch special. Super delicious!!! Overall I had a great experience in a relaxing environment!

Tonight me and my family dined at Kathmandu kitchen in Dublin. The food was great, we ordered the chicken wings as appetizers which were super flavorful and not too spicy or filling. For an entree we ordered the chicken tiki masala and the garlic chili chicken with a side of garlic and cheese naan to share. There chicken tiki masala was the best I've ever had and that's coming from a Indian food lover. It was so creamy and I could not stop eating it, if you dine here definitely get it. The only complaint I have is that the entrees did not come with rice or naan you had to order it separately. As for the service it was okay, it started off very good but the waiter stopped checking in on us and we had to ask for water several times. We waited around for the check while the waiters conversed with each other. The ambiance was quite nice but nothing too special, definitely very spacious. When it comes to the ambiance of the restraint the only complaint I have is there were little fruit flies flying around the entire time and one even fell into my martini.

Excellent food & service! Really enjoyed dinner here twice during our stay in Dublin! Samosa chat and an appetizer sampler were delicious. We also enjoyed several dishes. My family enjoyed different meat dishes (including chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh) while I enjoyed vegetarian dishes including potato and cauliflower and a mixed vegetable dish with fresh herbs. All very good so we came back again. Very comfortable, elegant dining room in a popular part of town. Very good all around.

One of the best Indian restaurants I've had in a long time. The service was top notch. I wish I had a picture but the samosa chat was AMAZING!

After touring Dublin Castle we popped into Kathmandu Kitchen for an early dinner. The restaurant was recommended to us by a local friend and they were totally right, this place is a gem. The gentleman who owns Kathmandu Kitchen is Nepalese, as such the food is very authentic. We ordered the Vegetable Biryani and Saag Paneer with basmati pilaf. The biryani was accompanied by a lovely aromatic sauce that I could not get enough of - absolutely delicious. And the saag paneer is some of the best I've ever had. We also ordered garlic naan and it was amazing! Overall the service was spot on, the food was great, and the ambiance of the front window table was fantastic. If you like Nepalese food or have been wanting to try it, get it here - you won't regret it!

There aren't that many restaurants open past 11:00 pm other than pubs but you can't get food there, can you?, so we settled on this restaurant. It wasn't our 1st choice, but I was glad we dined here because the rich saucy comfort food was perfect on a rainy and cold Dublin night. The decor was totally Nepalese, very peaceful, esoteric & Buddhasy. The background music of Buddhist chant brought back pleasant memories of childhood trips to the temple with my parents. The proprietor was a friendly, chatty fellow. You know, Being fellow Asians & foreigners in a non-Asian land, we have shared commonalities so talk away we did. Come for Good food, decent prices, friendly staff and be in an oasis in the urban jungle.

Nice restaurant near Temple Bar. Staff are warm and welcoming. The decor is traditional. Started with the samosas which were decent. Chickpea and Potato. Yum. I had the shrimp tikki masala. The sauce was a little on the sweet side. There were plenty of shrimps. I have had better, but have also had worse. The rice was nicely flavored and very colorful. It was very artistic. Saag Paneer was nicely done as well. We ordered two rices which was overkill. One rice for two entrees would be fine. I thought the restaurant was somewhat overpriced.

After couple days eating traditional Irish food we were ready to try some other cuisine. High ranked Kathmandu caught our eyes. It was a great choice. We loved the food. Traditionally good naan, this time we share garlic and garlic, onion & coriander. Delicious tandoori chicken and vegetarian kerau paneer. Service was ok and timely.

Came here on a busy night to get a taste of some home cooking and was not disappointed. First, a clarification: Nepalese food is not exactly the same as Indian food, so don't come here expecting the usual Indian fare. Service was great throughout the night - a tad slow at times but the restaurant was packed. The menu was a bit pricier than I'd expected - plus, if you order a la carte, you need to order naan and plain rice separately. However, they have pre-fixed menus that more than make up for the value. We were able to substitute 1 curry that we really wanted to try and pick our own house wine. Appetizers were deliciously fried and tasty. The curries were complexly flavored and yummy. Try the Himalayan Curry (think cilantro and coconut) and the Balti Curry (very lemony and flavorful). Dessert was some kind of green tea ice cream which ended the meal on a sweet note. We had plenty of food and had to take a bunch home, so come hungry!

We ducked in here to get away from drunk tourists, and had an excellent meal. Staff was attentive and the food was delicious.

I've been to Kathmandu Nepalese Restaurant a number of times in the past and was glad to read…read morerecently that they had reopened their doors after been closed for a number of weeks. Myself the wife, sister-in-law and a close friend headed down for a meal last Friday night. As always the reception we received was warm and very welcoming, the centrally located fire was lit and there was nice traditional Nepalese music playing quietly in the background. After been shown to our table we chose a lovely bottle of lebanese wine and we were served a large basket of popidoms with a selection of three dips. Starters arrived promptly, I chose the tandoori prawns and my wife chose the always good Mo,Mo's. For mains I went for the Sherpa Chili Karakura (chicken) These were to die for, utterly delicious and the herbs and spices so fresh, I am just amazed that a piece of chicken could taste so good. We didn't have room for deserts, but after asking for the bill the owner came down to our table with complimentary glasses of wine for each of us. As I had 'liked' the Kathmandu Facebook page we received 35% discount off the bill total, (offer till the end of Nov 2012) the bill came to €97 for four which included the wine - at €27 the most expensive on the list. We actually felt embarrassed with such a low price for such lovely food so we all chipped in and left a nice tip for the restaurant staff. As we live locally and have eaten in pretty much all the local restaurants in the area Kathmandu in my opinion is the best eatery in the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown area, which is high well deserved praise.

I visited their Camden St. location which is an area of Dublin that's buzzing with restaurants. Other more highly rated Indian restaurants (which were also more expensive) were all booked up, and I'm glad they were, since Diwali was right up our alley for tastes as they provided delicious food and excellent service. The music was great, and decor just right for ambiance. Meals start off with complimentary papadum and various chutneys, which is always appreciated. For drinks, we got the mango lassi and Cobra beer. The mango lassi had the perfect yogurt and mango accents without being too sweet, and was better than even the highly rated restaurants we went to in London. The Cobra beer was decent with regards to flavor. We tried the onion bhaji and chicken pakora to start off. The onion bhaji was a little bit oily, but great in taste and presentation, leaving us wondering how it was made as it was a pull apart variety while still preserving the chickpea batter accent with each bite. The chicken pakoras were also good, with a batter spiced just right. For main course, we ordered the butter chicken along with pulau rice and a naan. Nothing groundbreaking with regards to recipe, but just fresh and delicious food for these items. The pulau rice was better than plain basmati rice, and naan was a thin, but very generous portion. The food was so good that we returned a second night after being indecisive on where to go for dinner. The manager noticed us and provided us with mango lassi and a sampling of an aloo dish on the house, thanking us for being repeat guests. I love it when management shows such a genuine appreciation for customers like that. Service was attentive and on top of their game throughout both our visits. I'd recommend a visit to the Camden Street location of Diwali Indian Restaurant when in the mood for delicious Indian food when in Dublin.
