It could've used a bit more matcha to balance it out since it leans more horchata-forward, but that's a minor thing. Still a solid, unique drink and one I'd recommend trying at least once. I wasn't planning on getting food but the papa & egg taco was actually fireee. The potato and egg were seasoned very well, not so dry and rubbery, probably one of the best breakfast taco's I've had so I'd also recommend getting one of those. They have a few other interesting drinks and flavors that I don't see on other menus so I'll be making another trip back!

There were a couple of folks sitting there which is good but honestly the register on the corner as shown is a very awkward spot with the people sitting there. Everything from the furniture to cutlery to glasses is beautiful and goes well together. The staff is very friendly and happy to explain the menu. The coffee is rich and flavorful, and there are some really interesting flavors I have yet to try. On Thursdays, there is a special where you can get an Addis latte (kind of sweetened latte) and a lentil sambusa for $7 only! I've only been here on weekday afternoons/late mornings, and the street parking is plentiful and seating has never been an issue (which is something I worried about since it's in a home structure). There are couches and more solo seating arrangements upstairs and standard tables and couches downstairs. Overall, highly recommend coming to study or catch up with people! La Vita's owner, a very sweet and passionate man who clearly loves what he's doing here, shared that they fly in their chai in powder form from Italy. No nasty syrups or pre-mixed chai here and I can absolutely tell the difference! Food: I had THE BEST everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese since my last trip to Manhattan. I won't spill the beans on how they achieve this, but they have legit true NYC bagels here. DO NOT PASS ON THIS sandwich! You'll be very sorry you did. My go to has been the garlic chicken bowl with white rice, steamed broccoli and garlicky, slightly sweet, tender chicken bits. So good! The shrimp kimbap is basically a shrimp tempura roll accompanied by a dip that provides a little wasabi kick.
