I loved the urban, gallery like vibe with the concept of getting a flower stem or putting together a beautiful bouquet to enjoy with your drink. It felt like sipping coffee in a chill art museum. The server was very kind and welcoming. I got a strawberry rose lavender lemonade for my son and a honey lavender matcha latte for myself. I think the lemonade had a strong floral taste which I didn't mind but not the best option for my toddler so I will definitely choose a more simple flavor for him. I loved my matcha latte. I'm new to matcha and I appreciated the employee's suggestion to pair with oat milk. It was well balanced and creamy without an overly earthy taste. There isn't a restroom inside but you can go next door to the museum and use their restroom. I also liked how there were covered outdoor sitting options too. I definitely come back again!

The inside is very cool. Bright. A lot of art. Airy. Just chill, which I appreciated. Jonathan and…read moreCece were friendly and kind. They introduced themselves and we chatted. My chai latte was just ok. It could have been more robust with flavor. Tasted mostly like milk. The lemon pound cake was really good. I'd give it another try and try something else. Path of Tea is one of the longest running purveyors of artisanal organic and herbal tea in Houston…read more I have known of this tea spot's existence for years and frequently pass by while driving along West Alabama. To be perfectly honest, I am really more of a Tea Sip kind of person and still lament the closure of that Heights institution. For me, 19th Street isn't the same without it. Path of Tea is a totally different kind of operation, however. As for ambience, although I did enjoy looking at some of the decor (hanging fixtures, wall art, etc.), the overall design of the interior felt a bit dated and I would classify the lighting as dim. When we walked in, the guy who works the counter was actually seated and seemed to blend in with the clientele. So, initially, it wasn't clear who's minding the store, so to speak. I thought the guy's communication was on the dry side, but was really more interested in the offerings to focus much on that. The tea I ordered was just OK (peach and apricot blend, as I recall). My guest enjoyed their tea and cookie, but for myself, my heart is still with Tea Sip and it will probably take a long time for me to find a shop of that caliber. Parking, as I recall, was fairly easy as it is towards the end of a strip center. Overall, I would rate this business a 3/5.

The coffee is rich and flavorful, and there are some really interesting flavors I have yet to try. On Thursdays, there is a special where you can get an Addis latte (kind of sweetened latte) and a lentil sambusa for $7 only! I've only been here on weekday afternoons/late mornings, and the street parking is plentiful and seating has never been an issue (which is something I worried about since it's in a home structure). There are couches and more solo seating arrangements upstairs and standard tables and couches downstairs. Overall, highly recommend coming to study or catch up with people!
