The Bourbon Braised Shortrib dish while I don't think was actually shortrib was as a whole one of the best dishes I've eaten in a long time. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and even worked with us to get something kid friendly made up for my toddler when they don't have a kids menu. Whole family enjoyed their meals. I work around the corner from Keon's and love to come here when I have friends visit. The place is usually busy every time I've been here but even without reservations they are always so accommodating. I love how the chef is always cooking up new dishes and offers great dining options. My go to place in Haverhill when I have guests visiting. Food was a big disappointment. Had the meatloaf I think they left out the meat. Very mushy. Never did find the meat. Overpriced and can't figure out why people think it's worth it. If you want what they serve buy some hamburger helper and leave the meat out. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful date night at Keons on Saturday. With crazy work schedules we don't get to do this often. The owner greeted us and offered us a choice of table we went with the private table for 2 nestled in a quiet corner. We both thoroughly enjoyed our salads, appetizer, entrees and dessert as well as our cocktails and never felt rushed. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. You have the down to earth and friendly wait staff, an inexpensive menu for the quality, and a $59 weekday special that includes any two entrees and a bottle of wine or a shaker of martini. One star off for the cloyingly sweet pomegranate martini. Otherwise the seafood parpadelle was rich and cheesy with quite generous samplings of shrimp, scallops and lobster, and my wife's salmon with Pearl cous cous was fantastic (according to her, somehow it was gone by the time I thought to ask her for some.) Been here at least four times and each time has yet to disappoint. This place is fantastic in just about every aspect. Let's start with the building itself; right downtown Haverhill located in a small and cute building. The ambiance of it is perfect, very intimate, but it's not extra by any means. The service here is perfect. When you go, expect to have a bit of time. Not saying service is slow, but it is all a part of the experience to the dinner as that's the purpose of going out for dinner, it's not you typical in and out type place. Talking about food; wow! My personal favorite is the filet (probably the most expensive item on the menu) as each time I have got it, it is cooked to absolute perfection. I always get medium rare and most places always send it out closer to medium, but Keons always gets it right. In all, I highly recommend going! read more

My husband and I got a Groupon to try out this restaurant. I must say we were very disappointed. The severs were not friendly or interactive at all. Our server took forever to come to our table. Never offered more water. Everytime I looked over they were on their phone. The food was just ok. I got the baked haddock and my husband got the three brothers. For my starter I got the lobster bisque which was a huge let down. There was abosuletly no lobster in it and they had no oyster crackers! My husband ordered a mojito and they had no mint. read more

Really one of the worst meals ever. I've had much better at a diner. Place looked like a diner too. Dark and dingy. Sticky tables. Ordered the special appetizer which was so salty we could not eat it. The appetizer was a poke bowl of crabmeat and tuna but the chips were drenched in salt. The bread came with a garlic spread that was also salty. Ordered braised ribs that was actually NOT braised ribs at all but a tasteless piece of pot roast. I have had braised ribs at different restaurants or at home many times and the are usually delicious. I mentioned it to our waitress who happened to be the manager. She claimed it was the way the chef cooked the ribs. Sorry but no. I know the difference between beef ribs which are almost $20 a pound at the grocery store and pot roast which is $3.49 today at the Market Basket grocery store. I've made them both many times and know the difference. The meal would have been $100 but had spent $50 on a Groupon. Was not worth $50. Most disappointed I've been with Groupon ever. I noticed no response from the owners or managers to any reviews. Guess they don't care. read more

This spot is a hidden gem! It is my favorite place in Haverhill to have dinner. Food is always amazing and staff are great. My favorites are the steak bomb egg rolls, lamb lollipops, the pan seared scallop (ughhh amazinggg) and the spinach and arugula salad. There are two dishes that I am crazy about and have tried all over the country - eggs benedict and chicken marsala. To date, the Marriott in New Orleans has the best benedict. Tonight, I found the most AMAZING marsala created with love from Chef Rob, but it's SO much better than the "usual" dish. If you're ever in Haverhill, ask for the Mystery Marsala and I promise you, you won't be disappointed. read more

Came here for cocktails and food with a friend about a month ago. We sat at the bar. I ordered a gin martini straight up and also did the crab cakes. My friend got wine, a salad and an entree. I'm pretty picky about martinis (I've done a lot of research, donchaknow) and this one was great: dry, but not too dry and a decent gin. If you're looking for mediocre food and terrible service look no further... Keon's is the place for you! The power was out in our town and we were heading to the local butcher when we realized it was also closed. In a bewildered state of hunger we stumbled upon Keon's. The reviews online looked great so we took a chance and went in for a quick bite. The place is cute and inviting and we were seated right away at a cozy booth. Twenty minutes passed by before our drink order was taken, so we put in our food also to prevent a longer wait. I sent a text at 6:05, after we had placed the order (this will be relevant later). Several people came to our table asking what we were waiting on... I'm guessing we looked pale and hangry. I told my husband I wanted to leave... at that point I checked my phone and it was 7:09... a cool hour had passed since we ordered. As I was standing up to leave they brought the food over. It was unimpressive at best. Heavy on the sauce and light on the actual portions. Starving, we gobbled up our meals in less than five minutes. The bill came over and we were told that the manager was able to comp the drinks. I ordered a Diet Pepsi and my husband had one glass of wine. Seriously? Is this their idea of customer service? To put it simply, this place is grotesque. Go someplace else... there are a million spots on that same street. Oh, and thanks for the Pepsi guys!! read more

Nothing was really bad, but nothing was really good. A solid "Meh" experience tonight. We got the scallop appetizer special. The taste was good, but the scallop consistency was a bit mushy. The sauce on the scallops was a bit thick (this was the theme of the meal - thick, cloying sauces). I got the three brothers (steak, chicken, shrimp) meal. The chicken was excellent, the steak needed seasoning and the shrimp were good but covered in a thick white sauce that I didn't particularly like. The green beans were a bit over cooked; no crunch. My wife got the chicken and ravioli special. She did not like the thick sauce on the ravioli and felt the pasta was over cooked and mushy. We split the cheese cake dessert special. The cheese cake wasn't very creamy, but not bad. So, it wasn't great, but wasn't horrible. Given we paid $130, we didn't think it was a good value. read more

Was here because of Groupon and it was the best I bought recently. I had the steak egg rolls to start. Very hot from the kitchen, delicious too. My wife ordered the three brothers medium rare. This is why they scored four stars. Her steak came out medium well ish. I told her to say something because my food was perfect. I ordered the filet mignon med rare and it was perfect served with asparagus and mashed potatoes that were AWESOME. We also tried the wedge salad which was good to split and the lobster ravioli. For dessert we had the tiramisu can I just say that it was exquisite!!! And I haven't used that word. It melted our palates and was the perfect topper to our evening. Service was great! Although she never told us her name she was a great server! She did warn us to read the small print on the Groupon. You have to wait 24 hours before you use it. We went there last night to celebrate my sister-in-laws engagement The service was good and everyone else's meal was also good. But they all had red meat. Unfortunately, my meal (the haddock) and our appetizer (the tuna) was very bad. I am still sick 12 hours later. The tuba app was brown and smelled.
