Update [4.13.2010]: Kenny, this one is for you. Once again, I am more than pleased with my experience at Kenzo. I was in there a week or so ago and it's always like going to hang out with friends. The environment is great and I recommend this salon to anyone who is out there looking. UPDATE: I went back two weeks ago for another hair cut and was once again blown away (no pun intended) by the service and experience. Original: Best salon experience I've ever had by far! I found it on Yelp and didn't really read any of the reviews, just saw that everyone gave them 5 stars, so I decided to schedule an appointment. Let me just tell you, it definitely deserves 5 stars! First thing they offered me when I walked in was a glass of wine! Really, you don't have to do much more than offer me free booze to get me to like you. It was exactly what I needed after a long day at work. Donalyn, my stylist, walked over introduced herself and led me to her station. She asked me what I wanted to do and I basically said I want this but not like this, and do this, and she said alright, let's do it! The next best thing happened, we walked over to the hair wash station which is usually my favorite part of getting a hair cut anyways, but this was so much better than any other time. Why? Because the chair was a freaking massage chair with a reclining seat so your feet are propped up so you're back isn't strained like every other time i've had my hair washed. I almost fell asleep, seriously. Nap time over, we head back to get the hair did. Sit down and she tells me what she's going to do and she does it. Perfect. She took the time to tell me what products she was using and gave me tips on how to style my hair. She cut it exactly the way I wanted it and styled it and it looked and still looks awesome. I was worried today I wasn't going to be able to style it the way she did, but the cut is so awesome that it pretty much styled itself! So happy! I highly recommend Kenzo to anyone that lives in or around Boston. It is only 15 minutes outside of the city and the prices were so reasonable. For a wash, cut and style it was only $35. I bought product so it was a little more, but TOTALLY worth it! They even give you a gift bag with a few goodies in it to send you on your merry way. Customer service was great! Hair cut was great! Love it! I'm a "I was blonde when I was little" type blonde (the people who understand this will know what I mean) and I've been getting my hair foiled for 14 years but have had a lot of trouble finding the right balance recently. Now I realize what I was missing - a stylist like Brandy! She is absolutely phenomenal - a total pro with experience in Manhattan & on Newbury Street so you can be confident that she knows what she's doing. She sat me down in the chair & grilled me for what I was looking for. When I asked for low lights she made sure I understood what that meant and when my hair came out it was EXACTLY what I was looking for & I LOVED it! I've never had that experience happen before. To top it off, she sent me a thank you card, which was also a first - I should have been the one sending a card to her! Beyond her, the salon has a great vibe - good décor, the receptionist Melanie is great and the staff seems familiar, friendly & real with each other. They even offer you a glass of wine when you walk in (yes please!). And after wincing at my credit card statements caused by a few trips to Newbury Street, the price was a steal! My search is finally over!!! For the past two years I have been searching for a salon to call "home" in the greater Boston area. After trying 5+ salons, after reading reviews on Yelp! I figured Kenzo would be the next place to visit. They were very accommodating to my schedule and assured that I would have enough time to have a consult as well as my color and cut. (Which needed to be corrective color, since I was brown w/ blonde highlights, going dark red.) Also, the receptionist was great, full of energy and sweet. Upon first walking in, I just love the overall feel of the salon, everyone is really inviting and warm. Which to me, is a huge plus, since other places I have been people just run their mouths about each other and customers, ect. This was not the case! All of the other customers were having a great time, young and old, male and female. Everyone with a smile. (always good to see!) I saw Bridget who was spectacular! Super nice and walked me through everything we were going to have to do to get me to where I wanted to be with my hair color. I really appreciate this, cause I just like to be in the know. Kenny the owner, also great. Introduced himself, which is another strong point, I have been to salons before where the owners have their private area, with the THRONE of hair chairs, and only come around when THEIR clients arrive. This was another great aspect of Kenzo. The color is great, and she gave me lots of recommendations about how to care for red color treated hair. I absolutely loved my cut as well. I left feeling like a million bucks! Still excited to show people my hair and will definitely be passing on the name to all. ALSO, Bridget told me not to be discouraged by the price, since I did have to pay for corrective color, which was still only $130! Which for me was way less than I imagined seeing as I have paid more than that for just a partial color and color at other salons. I recently moved to Melrose after spending the past 7 years in Salem. When you move, it's really unnerving to have to change all of your service providers, but I think the most unnerving of all is trying to find a new hair stylist. I booked an appointment at Kenzo after reading the reviews on Yelp. I was able to get a Saturday morning appointment for a week out after I call. Online appointment booking is available, but you'll probably still get a call to confirm your time. My appointment was with Bridget, who was just awesome. My hair had been fairly drab after having let it grow out a bit, and after having added some lowlights in the fall. I went to Kenzo looking for something different for the new year, and that's exactly what I got. Parking was simple, free, and ample in the lot across the street. I arrived for my 11am appointment and was greeted right away by a friendly receptionist who offered me their beverage menu (6 coffee choices, yes please!). I sat down for about a minute and Bridget came out right away. We spent maybe 5-10 minutes talking about my hair (well, she listened to me complain about how sick I was of my cut and color and the stupid cowlick I have in the front). Then she got to work. I went blonder and shorter, and ended up with beautiful natural looking light blonde highlights and a shorter stylish cut (that I can still get back into a nubby ponytail- just what I wanted). The thing I liked most about Bridget was she seemed like she was a perfectionist. She spent a lot of time making sure that I had enough texture, that the length was right, and she checked with me every few minutes along the way to make sure I was happy. I will for sure go back. The prices were reasonable as well. I paid $136 without tip for a partial foil and a cut with a glaze. The icing on the cake for me was the little salon dog, Pedro, who sat on my lap while my color set. I almost took him home with me! read more

This salon is like a breath of fresh air. I had been looking for a salon in the area for a while now and have tried many unsuccessfully. I figured that I would need to start going back into Boston if I wanted a great haircut but decided, because of the reviews and from some recommendations, to try Kenzo Salon. I am so thankful that I did! I saw Donalyn who did an amazing job. All I wanted was to put some life back into my hair (which I had been growing out for a long time since the last person to cut it took off six inches.. but I digress), and she did just that. She listened to everything I said (basically, try to keep the length but do what you do!) and she gave me a great haircut. Also, I need to add that my hair can be in a pain in the bum to blow dry, as it "swells" when you first add heat to it then slowly calms itself down and looks like it should in about an hour. This girl blow dried my hair like nobody's business and it looked perfect when she was done and lasted the day. This does not happen to me. So she should get like 10+ stars for that. Overall, it was a great experience. The entire staff is very friendly and it is a very welcoming vibe when you come through the door. It is affordable, conveniently located (lots of parking in the area) and they definitely appreciate their clients (I got a gift bag because it was my first time there, like really? That's awesome). When I called to set up an appointment, I had a nice chat with Sheryl, the receptionist. She was super friendly, asked me a few questions and set me up with Gina. When I arrived, I was offered a beverage, and only waited about 3-5 minutes until Gina was finished with her prior client (a very acceptable amount of time for me to enjoy my beverage). She and I talked about what I wanted and we were off. I've been very happy with cut and color and was really happy with the freebies I got as well (who wouldn't be!). Definitely will return. UPDATE: Have been a regular here for year or so now. Everyone in the salon is super friendly. The prices are decent too. One of my favorite things is just relaxing in the massage chair while my hair gets washed, listening to the eclectic music mixes that saturate the air with their beats. I went here because I received a lovely marketing letter when I moved to Waltham to come in and receive a free haircut. Duh, it's not supercuts go! Well, it was bit further than I would have liked to drive but think free. Maria was very nice, personable and a decent stylist. She gave me a cute haircut like I asked her for. On subsequent trips I was not as satisfyied. The last time I went, two weeks later my hair had hundreds of split ends already. Totally not worth the drive especially since only my first haircut was free. The staff was great, the facility was very nice open, I love when places give me coffee etc. magazine selection wasn't so great but Inever had to wait that long anyways. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place! After getting a HORRIBLE haircut elsewhere, I did a search for salons around my area and this one seemed to have good reviews. so I called to make an appointment, and told the receptionist that I needed someone that could, well, fix what was done to my hair. she was so sweet and assured me I would be take care of and made me and appointment with Dena. I loved the atmosphere. it was small, but wasn't cramped. Dena was sooo awesome. she saw what was wrong, I told her what I wanted to do but instead suggested something else, which I obviously listened to her. the wash she gave me, oh my word, I could've sat there ALL DAY. the haircut was really great, considering what she had to work with. and I left with a tote bag with a few pink wide tooth comb, a pen, and some samples of things that were specific for my needs. the price seemed expensive at first, but then again, I've been getting $12 haircuts for a while now lol! This was back in Jan and haven't been back because I wanted my hair to grow longer. But I plan on making another appointment with her very soon. And I love the new website! Just echoing what everyone else has already said about Kenzo Salon. Setting up my first appointment was a refreshing change - the woman on the phone was so sincere and helpful. Warm and inviting staff. The woman at the front desk offered me a drink and hung up my coat. My stylist was Donalyn, and she too was great! Actually listened while I tried to describe the cut that I wanted (which my prior stylist, although great, never quite got right). The massage chair while getting your hair washed is fantastic. It almost makes you wish you could have your hair washed for 15 minutes :) Donalyn was friendly, fast, and most importantly - she nailed the cut. She also explains each of the products that she uses on your hair and gives you pointers on how to style it. My haircut was a very reasonable $35. Not sure if this was just an intro price, but even if it's a bit more, the experience is so worth it. read more

Today was my second visit with Dena, who is a wonderful stylist and very accommodating. I decided to try out Kenzo after obtaining a very reasonable cut and color deal through Groupon. My first experience was awesome. Dena took time to listen, look at a couple of pictures of color, and got my color spot-on. It looked absolutely beautiful. I chose a deep red color, without being aware of all that it takes to maintain red. I very quickly decided it wasn't for me after several disastrous attempts to maintain the color. My hair was a mash-up of ginger, red, some darker red.. YIKES! I was semi-embarrassed to return to the salon with my mess of hair. Anyway, when I went back today I went with a different color with some red tones. Looks great, and Dena was very helpful. I was only scheduled for a glaze, but she ended up doing a total color and I have a lot of hair. I often feel I am inflicting my hair on an very unsuspecting hair stylist and they always (yes, always) remark on the amount of hair I have. Today's comment from one of the assistants after washing/blow drying was: "200 pounds of hair later....!" HAH! I loved it. Which leads me into my next compliment: everyone at Kenzo that I've come into contact with is very friendly and welcoming. They do a wonderful job and are very warm people. They have excellent receptionists as well; very helpful and kind. I almost don't feel like I am in Boston anymore.... ;) Randoms: Nice big screen TV if you're into television. Great mix of tunes from 80's to current and any kind of music you might think of. -Not sure who on that team is a DJ but the mix really works, oddly enough. They have massage chairs to use whilst you get your her washed and conditioned. Today there were dumdum lollies out as well as a big jar of trail mix. They also offer a drink menu! Cool place with a laid-back feel. Most importantly, I always leave out with my hair looking glamorous and could step onto a news anchor chair. I was relieved to see all of the stellar reviews that fellow Yelpers have given Kenzo, because now I am reassured my experiences and my Yelp-calibration are not off. One beautiful June afternoon, I parked my car in the sizable lot across the street from a handsome brick building, walked up a flight of stairs to a spacious, tastefully decorated salon, and placed all my trust and hope in the hands of DonaLyn. I had just graduated college and was ready to shed that outgrown unkempt mane I had been pulling up into a ponytail for the past 8 months since I was too stressed with schoolwork to do anything else with it. I was ready for a grownup cut, and DonaLyn delivered. Gone was 11 inches of my straight, fine Asian hair, into a bag to be sent off for Locks of Love, and enter in a chic, angled, balanced bob. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Everyone working at Kenzo is super friendly, and they even offer you an array of drinks when you walk in. You also get a goodie bag when you leave! I have been going to Kenzo Salon for a few months now. My hair is naturally dirty blonde, but it pulls red/orange hues. I have been highlighting my hair for 4 or 5 years and WITHOUT FAIL, within 3 weeks of doing so the highlights turn brassy. However, after visiting Kenzo Salon in May, I was able to go over TWO MONTHS without needing any sort of touch ups or toners. My hair had maintained the ashy tone that I like and there was absolutely no brass. I felt like I could go another month if I had wanted to, but decided to go in to touch up the roots. My second experience was just as great as my first. Nick is an expert at highlighting hair. I have very fine baby hairs right around my hair line and he is sure to include these so that my hair looks completely natural. There is no harsh root line when I pull my hair up into a ponytail. I love it! In addition, the salon has a great atmosphere. I have never been pressured to add additional services or buy products, which is one of my pet peeves at hair salon. I recommend this salon to anyone, especially those with highlighted hair! read more

This is the first time I've ever been a repeat customer of a. a salon and b. a specific hairstylist! The salon itself (as others have said) is very cool...kind of like a trendy loft atmosphere. They do offer you wine or whatever beverage you're craving at the moment when you get in. Most importantly, my stylist consistently gives me a great, quality hair cut at a fantastic price! I went to Shag (one of the super-trendy and expensive salons in Boston) last summer just before trying Kenzo for the first time. I had the owner of the salon cut my hair (for a cool $80) and was only 'meh' about the results. It's such a difference at Kenzo! Much, much better results for less than half the price! It's like a salon in Boston, only better (and in Stoneham). read more

I took advantage of a Livingsocial deal and received my first haircut at Kenzo today. Being happy with a women's short haircut is a rarity, but not here! I couldn't find a sitter, so even toted along my bouncing tot. Luckily, the salon had a Bumbo seat for the baby to soak in his mama's hair treatment from a front row seat. It was cute, although he could only sit still for about 15 min :) I didn't have any inspiration photos on me but Nick listened as I tried my best to explain what I envisioned...chic, hip short do that doesn't scream punk-rock and isn't quite a pixie. For the most part, he delivered. My hair feels much lighter and more manageable, and I love most of the cut. The back bottom can be tricky on a woman's short hair style because you can only do so much with scissors to keep it tapered but neat looking. However, fading it with a buzzer teeters along the danger zone of resembling a man's haircut. Alas, it's a bit choppy, slightly uneven, and a little too buzzed, but since it's the back and it'll grow out, I'm not too worried since I love the majority of the haircut :) I think it would help to bring photos of a desired haircut from different angles the next time. I went to Kenzos on the recommendation of a friend after drooling over her hair every time I saw her. I had Kenny (the owner) give me a drastic makeover cut from almost waist length long, curly blond hair, and let him pick the style, and Kim Ruiz (now at Lumina) transformed me into a red head. I loved the cut and the color, which was quite a drastic change (and is the look in the photo I use here). I haven't figured out the logistics of keeping the awesome cut now that my favorite colorist is at a different salon, but just like Kim is worth the drive to Lumina, Kenny is well worth the drive to Kenzos, so I'm sure I'll work it out... All of the girls there and Kenny are nice, and the salon is pleasant and bright with natural light. It's a B&B salon, which is a great product series, and their Thickening treatment really helps plump up my fine hair. Highly recommended! read more

Another Groupon customer here! I had heard about this salon by way of yelp but once I saw the Groupon available, I knew that I had no excuse not to give them a whirl. When I emailed (which I LOVE) about an appointment for cut/color, I heard back same day and made an appt for 4 weeks out. They probably could have gotten me in quicker but Saturday is basically my only day I guarantee to get there on time. Salon is in a building in Stoneham center with a municipal lot across the street. The salon itself is smaller than I anticipated but they use the space well. It seemed very clean and it looked to me that everyone took part in keeping it that way. Very friendly staff...everyone looked happy to be there. I met Gina, my stylist and she was great. She listened to what I wanted and made suggestions for color and such. Very good at explaining what she would do and that put me at ease (I had some very bad childhood haircut issues that still to this day make my stomach in knots when going to a salon). Anyway, the shampoo stations are awesome - massage chairs and you can put your feet up. Very nice touch and super comfy. My color came out great! Gina's cut was fast and well executed. Upon paying I got a little gift bag with a pen, comb and magnet and rebooked another appointment. The only downside is that this place is expensive...BUT, it is worth the money and priced fairly. I didn't feel like the service I received was overpriced. I'm definitely a fan. read more

Like many other reviewers, I found Kenzo Salon on Yelp! I called for a cut and blow dry and was able to get an appointment promptly. My appointment was with Brandy who was incredible. She cut and styled my hair beautifully and even gave me tips on how to home style my hair. I bought Bumble and Bumble products from the salon and I have been very happy with them as well. I received a card in the mail from Brandy thanking me for coming in to Kenzo and hoping that I was still happy with my hair. I thought that was a perfect touch. I went to Kenzo last night after reading all the stellar reviews on yelp and let me tell you....I DEFINITELY was not disappointed! When I walked in I was instantly greeted and offered a glass of wine (they had other options too, coffee, soda, water....but how could I resist wine?) I met my hairdresser Donalyn and she was more than fabulous. She sat me down for our consultation and I told her exactly what I wanted (which is usually unclear because even I don't know what I want half the time haha). I thought I was being confusing but she knew exactly what to do right away. She washed my hair while I sat in an amazing message chair with some really great smelling shampoo. While she was cutting my hair it was clear that she knew exactly what she was doing....she took her time and was careful with every cut. I also enjoyed the conversation, there was no awkward silence at all. She dried my hair afterwards and styled it so perfectly (I wish I could make it look that good today lol...but it still looks really good!) She gave me lots of styling tips and let me know what products she used in case I wanted to purchase some (although a first visit comes with a goody bag containing samples of the products that were used!) All the stylists were so nice, I think each one of them came by at some point and said hello. Such a warm atmosphere in there, I would recommend it to anyone. THANK YOU KENZO!!!!!!!!! Kenzo has a great atmosphere, the receptionist is always very friendly right when you walk in. They offer you a drink when you walk in, and this includes wine! Who wouldn't want to enjoy a glass of wine while having their hair cut? Then to make things even better, they have message chairs which message you while they wash your hair and while you are waiting glazes to set in. I have now been going to Kenzo Salon for a couple of years for cuts, coloring, and Keratin treatment. My hair used to be crazy curly and frizzy, but since I started seeing DonaLyn at Kenzo, she recommended the Keratin treatment which has improved my life so much by making my hair straight, frizz free, and manageable. DonaLyn does a great job with cut & color as well. She also was the stylist that did my hair and some of my bridesmaids hair for my wedding party in 2010. She did an excellent job for my wedding and all of us got compliments on our hair. Also, all four of us who had our hair done by DonaLyn had our hair style stay in all night even after dancing wildly on the dance floor. I highly recommend going to Kenzo and setting up and appointment with DonaLyn. My only complaint is that DonaLyn is popular and sometimes it is difficult to get an appointment, but that just means I need to call ahead. The difficulty of getting an appointment here shows how popular this place is. I see some other reviewers here have given poor reviews due to price increases. I do not feel this is a fair as I have now been going to Kenzo for at least 3 years, (maybe longer), and seldom have I seen them increase prices, and when they do they usually have a sign warning customers prior to the increase and apologizing for increases. I used to live in Brookline, but traveled out to Kenzo in Stoneham since their prices are very reasonable, especially when compared to salons in the city of Boston, which I think their quality is on par with. I live in Boston and have been salon hopping since I moved here in 2004. Finally I've found a location I'll be back to... again and again! I had Maria just do a cut and a style, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. In fact, I think I can confidently say it's the best haircut I've ever had. Overall the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cool and posh, but not pretentious at all. For people who live in Boston, it's definitely worth the short drive. You won't spend what you would on Newbury, but you won't sacrifice in quality either. read more

I've been searching for a new salon and hair dresser for some time. I found Kenzo Salon through Living Social and after reading other reviews I decided it was worth it to try. I could not have been happier! My experience began with the receptionist being incredibly helpful scheduling an appointment for me. I was offered a drink list of teas, espresso, etc when I arrived which was really nice and welcoming. I had my appointment with Bridgette and she was SO great. She asked me what I wanted and listened to me go on about my fear of getting too much of my hair taken off. I got a full foil and she did the absolute best job on the highlights. My cut came out amazing --she did exactly what I asked for. Did I mention she also offered me wine? And the shampoo stations have massage chairs. Let me start off by saying I went to a different salon to have a full foil and cut for my son's wedding. Well that was an enormous mistake. The girl screwed my hair up so bad that I honestly would not leave my house. I called Kenzo Salon I spoke to JoAnn the receptionist who is a doll, while on the phone with her she spoke to Nick Rocco he had me come right in for a consultation. Nick is absolutely fantastic he booked an appointment for me right away which was only two days later. Nick is my hero! He fixed my hair and there is absolutely no sign that anything was every wrong with it. I can't say enough great things about Nick Rocco. I love him, he's clearly an experienced stylist and colorist. He is super friendly and cares about his clients. I have definitely found my new salon and stylist. The salon it self is gorgeous, clean and comfortable. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I'm actually going in the morning of the wedding to have my hair done and I can't wait! I love this small but innovative space with it's contemporary and modern design. I dropped in last year after a hectic day looking for some B&B products and ended up changing salons. There is free municipal parking near by Donalyn gives me the perfect haircut each and every time. She actually listens to me. The staff is very friendly (complimentary drinks) and they don't incessantly gossip with each other (like every other salon out there). UPDATE: Been going to Donalyn at Kenzo for nearly 2 years now. Just got back from a haircut today and I so love that Donalyn genuinely listens! The cut she gives me looks fantastic for nearly 3 months and each and every visit to Kenzo is an utter pleasure. My overall experience at Kenzo Salon was FANTASTIC! I was warmly greeted and offered a beverage. Kenny listened to what I wanted and completely delivered. He made my long locks look luxurious, I Love my new cut and as you know a great cut can make you feel prettier. After he educated me about the hair products that he used on me (it was informational rather than pressure to purchase) I was skeptical. In the past I have wasted my money on products that did the same thing as my $5 bottle of shampoo from Target. I didn't want to waste my money again. Kenny gave me a very large sample of a shampoo called hydrate-me.wash by Kevin Murphy. WOW when my sample is gone I will absolutely purchase a bottle, best shampoo I have ever used. I had moved away from my previous hairdresser in the last year and wanted to find a salon closer to my new home. My hair was beginning to bore me. I had been wanting to cut my hair pixie short for a while, but too scared to do it because it was so radical. My hair was medium length, fine, and medium blonde. After reading reviews here, I decided to try Kenzo, interviewed two stylists and settled on Brandi. She has short blonde hair so I felt she understood what I was going for. She was confident which also helps when you're unsure about such a change. I brought her a bunch of photos of haircuts I liked, basically a lighter verigated blonde pixie. I booked the appointment. I envisioned lighter hair, but in my experience, when I have said I wanted to lighten my hair, the stylists all shake their head like they're in agreement and say they understand, but then when its finished, it doesn't really look much different than when I walked in. Brandi described the color she recommended as golden blonde. I really had ash in mind, but thought well, you do this every day, let's go with golden. After cutting my hair, Brandi mixed the bleach and started painting my head. When she rinsed it out, I was quite shocked... it was much lighter, and all solid, not verigated and it looked kind of yellow. (I know, I asked for it. I said as light as you can). I was really kind of freaked out but thought, well... it's a change, let's see how it dries out. I went home. The next day, I decided I needed to adjust the color because it was looking yellow, not golden, so I called the salon back and asked if we could tweak it. They said no problem, she had an opening in the afternoon. She toned the color so that it was the ashy color I was hoping for. It's been a couple of months since. I am sooo happy with my hair! The cut is amazing, the color is cool and I absolutely love it. It looks so great with minimal fuss. I get compliments on it all the time and sometimes from people I don't even know. I found Kenzo by googling free haircuts in Boston. I received the royal welcome as described in the other reviews here. This is my first time entrusting my slightly wavy Asian hair to an American stylist. I've always gotten cheaper haircuts and exceptional service in southeast Asia and Taiwan, and once in Europe. They gave me a drink, told me that they were sorry for running a little behind because of their overwhelming clientele flow, but I was totally fine since I am just getting a free service by an apprentice stylist. Still, Kenny the owner greeted me in person and was very friendly and courteous. I got a great shampooing, was told to wait a little. And the cutting began. Kenny was carefully mentoring my stylist, awesome Nick, and they started trimming my outgrown layers into thinner layers and took some length off (I decided that 2 inches). And they gave me the loveliest and versatile V-bangs that can be worn left or right. My only thing was that they put a lot of Bumble bee product (detangler and prep) to prep my hair for the cutting. And I really don't like chemicals, especially since Bumble Bee does so much animal testing, I didn't like it. But since my hair dried out so quickly for the trimming, I understand it. I wished I had been more vocal about requesting them to use water. I love my free haircut and was proud and glad to be a hair model for Nick. I've been going to Kenzo Salon for about 9 months now - my first appointment I asked for the first available stylist which happened to be with Carla. Shes been my go-to ever since. Not only are all the stylists extremely talented (I have multiple friends that go to this salon as well) the salon is amazing. You feel like you should be in downtown Boston paying $200 for a cut. The receptionist is always welcoming - she always offers a drink (everything from juice, to wine, to coffee). They don't shove their products (Bumble & Bumble) down your throat, which is always nice. The owner, Kenny, is always there with a smile on his face and always makes sure to say hello to everyone walking in, a nice surprise, especially from the owner himself! I swear my haircut is better every time I go there - probably the best cuts I've ever had - its no fluke that this salon has 5 stars. I highly recommend this salon to anyone - I've already sent a number of friends and family their way :) read more

I love Kenzo salon and have been going now for about 6 months. I was looking for a new salon after my previous stylist left to have a baby and came across Kenzo on Yelp, as I couldn't wait any longer to get my long hair trimmed. I called and made an appointment with Maria, and I will never get my hair cut with anyone else. The salon is small but clean. The receptionist is the sweetest women you ever want to meet. Maria never takes too much off my hair (like some people when you ask for an inch off take 5), is super friendly and always takes the time to make sure my hair is styled to perfection before I leave. The first time I went to this salon I had a great experience. Mary was superb, so much so that I booked in an appointment with my 2 year old. When I brought my child in, Mary was lovely and the charge was reasonable. Fast forward to today's experience. Mary was not available so Bridget cut my toddler's hair. The charge? $31 for 10 minutes of trimming a toddler's hair. Unbelievable. That's more than I am making with a master's degree. When I asked about the cost, I was told "that's what Bridget charges, Mary charges differently." Needless to say, I will not be returning to this salon. read more

This week, I made an appointment at Kenzo Salon for an eyebrow wax during my lunch break. I was able to sneak out after twelve and find a parking spot in Stoneham. Once I got my bearings, I took the stairs up to the Kenzo salon space on the second floor of the 5 Central Square building. What a beautiful space! The Kenzo salon has gorgeous, dark hardwood floors and the walls and ceilings are a bright, luminous white. The salon has accents of its signature color red throughout the space alongside its neutral furniture. They have a lovely waiting area with a flat screen TV and leather couches for guests. The feeling of the space is bright, clean, and modern. The staff at Kenzo does an extraordinarily good job of relationship management with their clients. The receptionist was quick to offer me a beverage and the owner of the salon offered to take my coat. The staff took their time to meet and speak with each client on-site individually, and they were careful to make sure that I was comfortable and relaxed. Maria, one of the stylists from the salon, did my waxing. She consulted with me before the waxing with a mirror, asking me to spell out exactly how I wanted my brows shaped and maintained. Her work was artful and efficient, and I enjoyed chatting with her throughout. I'm looking forward to having my first haircut with Gina in early November. The receptionist explained that the stylists do a consult with each client before they start their work, and guests receive a goodie bag of product samples that are tailored to their needs. I was pleased to see that Kenzo uses Bumble and Bumble products, and I can't wait to pick up some to try during my next visit. Things have been very stressful this past fall for me with the uncertainty of our economy and the increasing pressures at work. To have a place like Kenzo Salon as a retreat is a true gift! I recommend taking a breather there when next you're in the Stoneham area. They'll take excellent care of you. read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I have never received better customer service! Joanne is so welcoming as soon as you walk through the door. Everyone at the salon is super friendly and very professional! I have gone to Mary for a full foil and Sarah a full foil and cut. I have received so many complements on the color and cut after I starting going to Kenzo in April. They are both absolutely amazing and so talented. I would recommend Mary and Sarah to everyone! read more
