When in Salem, you have to do something bewitching so I came to this museum to learn about the…read moreSalem Witch Trials. It's housed in a historic church and is quite pretty outside. We got tickets through the GoCity card, and had to make our reservations for a time slot slot the day before. We arrived and checked in, got our sticker, and then waited at a second area to enter the museum when it was our turn. First part of the "tour" was a presentation of the history of the trials with creepy looking mannequins on display. I recommend you sit on the stools in the center of the room for best viewing as you have to rotate around left on your seat to see each display as they are presented. It's actually quite informative but the presentation of it was kind of cheesy to be honest. After that is over, you are taken to the back end of the museum where there are exhibits about how witches are presented in movies (ie the witches of Oz), and defining witch hunting then and now. There's a gift shop for all things witchy at the end.

Inside, however, the vibe is a bit of a time capsule. It feels like a mix between a theater and a history classroom--very "vintage 1970s" but in a way that feels like a Salem rite of passage. The museum is divided into two parts: The Main Show: You sit in a large, darkened room while life-sized dioramas light up around the perimeter to a narrated soundtrack. It tells the story of the 1692 trials with a lot of drama. It's definitely "campy" and a bit dated, but it's a solid, digestible overview of the history. The Guided Exhibit: After the show, a staff member leads you through a second area that explains the evolving image of "the witch" through time. This part felt much more modern and actually touched on some interesting social themes like scapegoating. Duration: Plan for about 1 hour total. Booking: This is the most important tip--book your tickets online in advance! Especially in the shoulder seasons or October, they sell out hours (or days) ahead. Don't expect to just walk up to the door and get in. Price: At around $19, it's a bit pricier than the smaller museums, but it's the "big one" that most people feel they have to check off their list.

The groomer noticed that Chloe began to behave strangely and when she picked her up noticed that her snout was cold and that her gums and tongue were white. They immediately took her to Saugus Animal Hospital. When she arrived there, Chloe's blood pressure was extremely low. She was very sick and we had to rush her to Mass. Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn. There we learned that Chloe had an aggressive form of cancer and was bleeding internally and had fluid around her heart. We were blindsided by this. Chloe had shown no signs of anything being wrong. She appeared to be a happy and healthy 7 year old dog. We said our goodbyes and she was euthanized. I want to give special thanks to Dr. Bloom at Saugus Animal Hospital. She did everything she could for Chloe. Also, my heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer, the groomer at PetSmart and to Anthony, the store manager. They went above and beyond. They stayed at Saugus Animal Hospital until we left. They were both visibly upset. Anthony followed up with me the next day. PetSmart paid for Chloe's cremation and urn. They certainly didn't have to. They had done nothing wrong. But, it was a very kind gesture. Thank you again to all involved. RIP Chloe...the sweetest dog.

Booking this was super easy through my CityPass. We were already next door at the aquarium so it was very easy to get here. The line was a bit confusing because they said that they would tell us where to go but I had to go to the box office to find out. She was actually quite rude and not helpful, so we ended up just joining the line we saw because we figured it was it. It was, so all was well. The boarding process was easy enough and we boarded the ship pretty quickly, even with the photos being taken at the beginning. The boat itself was a little bit worse for wear and smelled weird but we went up top on the highest deck so we were outside. The chairs up there were also pretty worse for the wear but it was good enough. I loved the guides dad jokes and weird humor. He made it all better and I appreciated that. To be honest, weird jokes make it much easier to remember the historical facts and my husband is still spouting some it it to this day.

Guess what, whale watching season had not started as we came to early. Good news we avoided the crowds, bad news some things were not open. Arrive into Boston and look at taking a tour and lo and behold, that weekend is the first weekend for Boston! So, we book those tickets for that morning and are out on the boat in less than 1 hour from start to finish. Waiting in line, a breeze! Getting tickets, a breeze! The crew was amazing and happy to see all of us (it was the first weekend of whale watching)! Our captain took us out and spent the longest time with us on the water as it was difficult to catch those whales! We were able to see a couple of brief glimpses, which really made the entire trip worth it. As we were going back to shore, we were told that our tickets would be reissued for another tour with them since we had really seen whales on the tour. That was amazing! Best part of the trip, the lovely Linneea who seriously had the best voice and demeanor for talking about the whales. You could really feel her passion and empathy for the creatures through her voice! WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. I was even out on the side and the captain peaked over to say he was hoping that we would find some whales today! They really do care about the experience but also about the sanctity of the whales and their environment. PROS Good sized ship Good areas to whale watch Restroom facilities Food/drink available Depending on the time, take a sweater BEST CREW AROUND CONS Parking to get to the boat!

Inasmuch as he was spending his own hard earned money, this was a very big decision which took 45 minutes. I think before he had made a determination, he had asked every single employee a multitude of questions. Each one was more than patient and very knowledgeable as to what fish would do well in his tank along with the fish he already had. Definitely a ten star experience. Thank you.

I drove 40mins (one way) to the store and the girl said "it looks ok to me". I asked can she switch the ones with the white spots, then she said "we can't take fish back especially you suspect that they are sick". I said "but you were sure they are not sick!" she went: "you can get 50% refund if we test your water, but can't be this water - it can't have any fish in it". At the end I gave up; I really cannot figure out her logic. I cannot afford another trip of 1.5 hours round-trip to send in water sample either. She even went "if they are sick, now all your fishes in the tank got it". - Very helpful. I am extremely disappointed as I have been with the store for more than 5 years. I only hope my other fishes in my tank did not get it
