I had never scuba dived before so I purchased a Groupon for Dive KS I saved $174 by doing this! With any deal I called in advance and reviewed the deal After doing the theory class online, met the owner Kirk, started my training. After 3 hrs of pool time and 2 days of Boston "ocean" I received my open water docs and with the advice from Kirk off to the caymans where I had the best time scuba diving not snorkeling! Learning to dive is something I've wanted to do for years, and I couldn't have asked for a better instructor than Kirk. From the very first session, it was clear I was in expert hands -- not just in terms of skill and experience, but in patience, communication, and genuine passion for the underwater world. Kirk made complex concepts easy to understand, always took the time to explain the "why" behind every skill, and most importantly, never rushed the process. They created a calm, supportive environment where I felt safe, confident, and encouraged at every step. What really stood out was his attention to detail. Whether it was checking equipment, giving real-time feedback underwater, or sharing fascinating facts about marine life, they went above and beyond what I expected from a dive instructor. By the end of the course, I wasn't just certified. I felt like a true diver, ready to explore the ocean with confidence read more

Dive KS is the best!!! Kirk and his team are extremely thorough. Getting certified was a well organized and fun experience. I felt so ready for all aspects of the skills of diving by the end. I recommend this shop to everyone I know looking to get certified. read more

Kirk truly goes out of his way to give you the best experience possible. He and the team have great coordination and try their best to work around your schedule to meet your needs. The classes are well priced for the experience and education you gain. I completely my refresher course easily and timely with Kirk. He was friendly, listened well to what I needed, helped me stay on task, and has an amazing knowledge/experience base that he educates well. I was very comfortable and felt safe while learning with Kirk. He was open to talking with me about some areas I self identified were concerns and gently pointed out areas where he saw I could make small improvements to enhance my diving skills. The course material was quick, but not too fast, and I felt supported always. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a safe, fun, and enriching diving education experience. I look forward to continuing my education with Dive KS and hopefully venturing with them on a dive trip at some point!! read more

Responsive, great detail, and classes occur almost daily! They have a great system so when I called them back after a year, they still had all my info, which makes it easy and fast. read more

Captain Kirk might be the best scuba diving instructor out there. I was a failed-once student from a resort certification class while the rest of the family members got certified like a walk in the park. Also in general I am just not very comfortable with water. But I did make a new year resolution to get certified so I can join the rest of the family. I have to admit that I had lots of doubt when starting the class. As time went by, with Kirk's systematic step by step instruction, I slowly gained the confidence that I might be able to do this. I still can't believe I actually got certified last week as I started with not being able to jump into the pool just a couple of months ago. I am so grateful that Kirk helped me achieving this goal through tireless patience, encouragement, solid knowledge as well as the simple yet precious integrity of being the scuba diving instructor. Kirk has opened up the rest of 70% world to me, so I get to see the colors that belong to the under the sea wonder. More importantly, Kirk helped me to overcome some biggest fear that I had toward the water. For that, I am forever grateful. A big shout out to Erika who is equally patient, sweet and considerate. Thank you for helping me to tick off another bucket list. I can't recommend this class enough especially if you are like me . read more

The Dive KS team couldn't have been more helpful and supportive in helping me ReActivate my PADI Divemaster certification after a few years off from diving. Organising a day to train was very easy with the team being super flexible for my busy schedule. The training itself was detailed, informative and, best of all, fun as all diving experiences should be! Kirk is very patient, friendly and I could see he has a passion for teaching. As a divemaster, I've seen a lot of courses/training and know how a good course should be run. I can highly recommend Dive KS. Thank you Erika and Kirk! read more

DiVE KS - Scuba Diving Near Me - Beverly, Massachusetts

Since moving to the Northeast in 2020, I declared to my family that we had to take a tropical vacation instead of a ski vacation, because, you know, February in Massachusetts. I also decided it would be a dive vacation. But we didn't want to spend all our vacation getting certified so I looked into what could be done locally beforehand. I found Dive KS online. I contacted Kirk and he walked me through exactly what we needed. I could tell he was organized an thorough from the start. The pool instruction was great. He knows his stuff front and back and knows how to communicate it so clearly. It was fun and easy to stay focused on his class. He takes safety seriously. I trusted him completely with training my 16 year old. I'm starting to think we may get into dry suit driving through him--he's that good that I might get into the icy waters of New England under his tutelage! He always goes the extra mile too--he's just a good person and I couldn't recommend him more highly. read more

Dive KS is a great place to finish up your SCUBA classes or head out on dives! I needed to complete my PADI confined water dives before heading on vacation and Kirk made sure I had completed every skill successfully before my flight (even if it meant a private pool class in the middle of the day). He made sure that I knew what was coming in the Open Water dives so I would be prepared. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to become PADI certified! read more

Life changing instruction, a welcoming family environment that really prepares you for the open water.

Kirk is an excellent instructor! He cares about your safety and is very encouraging. My boyfriend and I were able to complete the PADI confined water dives/classroom tests with Kirk over the course of two weekends. At the end we received a referral to complete our certification in Bermuda. I highly recommend Dive KS for Kirk's excellent teaching and the affordability of the PADI certification courses. read more

I had a great experience with Dive KS! Highly recommend Kirk's instruction to anyone that wants to discover what most of the world has to offer. He was thorough with the classroom prep work and took the time to review the materials with us to make sure we truly understood the concepts and the dive tables. He was super flexible with scheduling around our groups needs including later nights in the pool and early weekends in the ocean! I felt safe throughout our experiences, and he really helped me to appreciate the nuances of cold water diving! He made sure to check in on us during the dive and ensure we were sufficiently warm and regulating our air well. When we struggled with skills (the dreaded mask clears!) he took extra time to let us practice and made sure we were thoroughly capable of completing the task calmly and effortlessly. Plus he was just a bunch of fun, at the end of each class we would debrief about the things we learned and what we needed to improve on before the next class, and he always had a funny story to share! TLDR: Great personalized attention. Patient and thorough instructor. Flexible to the students needs. Entertaining guy! read more

Kirk is quite possibly the most fundamental diver I've ever met. He's passionate about diving and loves what he does. Full of information and safety at the same time... That's the difference, he loves what he does! I highly recommend Dive KS, you can't find a better instructor! 5/5 read more

Seems that the guy who owns this business, Kirk, has a problem honoring Groupon deals that were purchased online. He claims to want to add on the difference of the new Groupon to the old Groupon deal from July. Seems like he may have realized that he's lost too much by offering 73% off so he now wants to unfairly price someone who was promised something less. He also claims that we've made "accusations" when asking for reasons for why we aren't entitled to what we paid for. Very shady business practices, and from what I read of the "unrecommended reviews", this isn't the first time that this has occurred with potential customers in the recent past. Good way to force yourself out of the business, as the diving community is small in these parts and words travel fast. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

Kirk was an exceptional scuba instructor who helped us attain our padi open water certification ! We did the confined pool portion here in Boston and the open water portion Mexico! Our instructor in Mexico was very impressed with how well trained we were! We certainly felt comfortable with the level of mastery we had on the material! If you are in the area I would definitely recommend you get in touch with Kirk who is flexible to help you achieve your scuba goals!!! Happy diving! read more

Kirk did a great job helping me and my boyfriend with our open water dive certification. His flexible schedule was able to work around our very busy schedules and he was always easy to reach if we had questions along the way. He was also patient and able to guide me through some difficulties I didn't think I was going to be able to work past, but now I am extremely confident in that skill. In the water we always felt safe and now feel confident and excited to move forward with our diving in the future. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for PADI dive certification in the area. read more

Very unreliable. Scheduled class dates and never answered the phone (did this multiple times) . Blamed AT&T instead of taking accountability. Go somewhere more reliable. read more

My Boyfriend and I completed our PADI Open Water Certification with Kirk in May. He was super professional and a great teacher that made sure we understood each of the required components of the course. We ended up doing our open water portion while on vacation in Mexico as we were more keen on finding warmer waters... the second instructor in Mexico was very impressed with our skills and how well we had mastered the concepts (thanks to Kirk). If you are in the New England area and are interested in diving, get in touch with Kirk, you won't regret it! Happy Diving! read more

I had an awesome experience with DiVE KS and would recommend it to anyone interested in scuba. After being certified, I went to Hawaii and had no problem diving with confidence, and I dove at night and even to 110 feet. The dive masters in Hawaii couldn't believe I was so new to diving because of how well I was trained! From the moment I spoke with Kirk about scheduling classes I felt like he truly was an expert and a qualified teacher and this proved to be true. He was very open with what to expect, where the challenges would be, and how to get this done at the best pace for me. He was very flexible with scheduling classes and he wasn't just an expert diver, he knew how to teach in a way that made it make sense to each student I was in class with. He wasn't just interested in his business, he was interested in teaching me and he did a great job. Can't say enough positive things about Kirk and this company! read more
