PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO BE GROOMED HERE. I only wish I had read all the other reviews prior and not taken a chance on my dog. These pictures are of my poor 7 pound yorkie mix who I had to pick up from Vetco after they cut him so deeply that 2 staples and antibiotics were recommended. (I opted to try surgical glue first because we are moving and can't come back to have staples removed, so that's what you see in the pictures.) This review is not about Vetco, they were great. It's about the HORRIBLE GROOMING DEPARTMENT and MANAGER! After having my dog for half the day (longer than other locations), I get a call from the manager that there was an incident and my dog was fine but they just wanted the vet to check it out incase he needed ointment. Of course I was confused and asked questions, she did not tell me much because it's a COMMON area and MY DOG MUST HAVE MOVED. Then the Vet calls to inform me of the size (1 inch laceration) and her recommendation (the staples) and she was actually heartfelt, genuinely understanding my concern and apologized for something she didn't even do. Upon further looking over my dog at home, I see that he is basically scalped/bald in certain areas and has long hair in others. WHAT KIND OF BOTCH JOB WAS THIS ANYWAY? And what I really want to know is WHY THE GROOMER WASN'T USING A GUARD ON HER CLIPPERS?? I didn't even request the shortest cut, the bald areas on my dog are clearly no guard and there is no possible way to gash my dog like she did with a guard. This was entirely preventable and nothing my dog did (he's been groomed successfully many other times by other locations) but instead someone was negligent and clearly not trained in grooming. The groomer didn't apologize, the manager made excuses, and my dog suffered. After now reading all the horrible reviews on the grooming here, I hope corporate pays attention to my email and does something about this stores management and hiring practices, it's clear they are a liability and YOUR DOG COULD BE NEXT. PLEASE DRIVE TO MALDEN PETCO OR TAKE THEM ELSEWHERE, it's not like Petco is cheaper anyway.

Danielle did an excellent job with my Goldendoodle puppy! I was worried my puppy would get nervous since this is her first grooming, but Danielle was so good with her and I am happy about the outcome!

I wanted a trainer who could work on every day puppy manners around the home in addition to leash training. Prior to training, our pup was a handful - as a large breed, he was already 75 lbs at 6 months and his pulling and lunging while on a leash was becoming dangerous. I'm 5'9 and he would lunge suddenly while walking on leash and he would literally pull me off my feet. He also would bite everything - not aggressive, just puppy mouthing, but it was non stop. He could not be left alone unsupervised for even short periods of time (like cooking dinner in the other room) because you would find him chewing a couch leg, etc. We picked him up from his training this week. I am shocked at how well his training went. BryAnne truly loves dogs and treated my pup like one of her own. She gave us frequent video and photo updates. From her videos, I could see that she clearly made my pup feel at home in her house. When our dog came home, we joked that we picked up the wrong pup. Where was the 75lb maniac? The first night, I assumed he was calm because he was just exhausted from running around during our training session (BryAnne worked with us for over an hour to show us all the training). But we are a few days out now and the change is remarkable. He's calm on the leash, plays appropriately, but he's still our snuggle bug. He's a pleasure to have around the house (no jumping, nipping at feet, etc.) We will continue to work with BryAnne to make sure we keep working on his training skills. We now have a strong foundation to build on. Thank you, BryAnne, for all of your hard work with our good boy!

She's incredibly sweet and submissive with other dogs, but she loved to jump on people and had a habit of pulling hard on the leash during walks. At 60 pounds, it was definitely a lot to manage! From the start, Kylie and the Atlantic K9 team were amazing--professional, knowledgeable, and so caring. Brinley attended their two-week bootcamp, and I'll admit, it was hard sending her away for that long with no visits. I was worried she might feel abandoned, but Atlantic K9 made the experience so much easier. They uploaded pictures every day of her playing with other dogs, looking happy and confident, with a smile bigger than I've ever seen on her. It was clear she was having the time of her life--more like a fun vacation than "training camp." When Brinley came home, the transformation was incredible. She has great recall, walks beautifully on leash, and I can now even let her walk off-leash with full confidence. She's learned to stay in her "place," respond to "no" consistently, and--best of all--she no longer jumps on people! I'm so grateful to Kylie and the entire Atlantic K9 team for their compassion, communication, and the amazing results they delivered. Brinley is happier, calmer, and more connected to me than ever. I can't recommend Atlantic K9 Training enough!

We reached out the Atlantic at a complete loss of how to help our sweet Ollie boy succeed. They were nothing but kind, communicative and supportive during our initial conversations, and put us completely at ease about sending our boy to the two-week bootcamp, a choice that was incredibly hard for us! Ollie is a five year old Australian Shepherd/Poodle mix who went to training pre-pandemic and has always been incredibly shy with strangers. Before 2020, this manifested as leash reactivity and we were working hard at it when social distancing went into place. Post-pandemic, we tried every method we could find to try and help him with this, but despite all efforts, his reactivity increased tenfold to include dogs and small children. Sometimes he would he completely fine, and other times, he would aggressively bark and lunge at dogs and kids. It was so stressful that we started keeping him away from other dogs, and our small nieces and nephews to be safe. Ollie's alert barking additionally reached an all time high in the summer of 2023, and his counter-surfing was out of control. We decided it was officially time to get professional help. My husband and I want to start a family soon, and were terrified to think that Ollie's unpredictability could jeopardize his relationship with our future kids. His alert barking was creating a near-constant level of stress in our home, and we couldn't imagine how Ollie would be able to function happily or be involved as our family continues to grow. Throughout the two weeks of bootcamp, we got daily communication about Ollie's progress from the team and pictures of him playing happily during break times. Most importantly, however, K-9 Atlantic has completely transformed our boy, and given us the utmost confidence that Ollie will be the BEST big brother someday. He is literally like a different dog in all of the best ways. He's still our sweet, snuggly, silly boy, but without all of the incessant barking and sneakiness! His reactivity is now basically nonexistent, and he happily plays with our little nieces and nephews when they come over! He is a rockstar on and off-leash. We've even slowly integrated meeting new dogs in controlled settings, and he has been so very successful. He hasn't even counter surfed (despite us purposely leaving chicken on the counter in his reach in order to practice!!!!). Ollie's newfound confidence shines in his ability to meet new people and have experiences without all of the anxiety that he displayed prior to his time at K-9 Atlantic. He is the best version of himself, and we are so beyond proud of the good boy his has become!!! I don't know what magic the K-9 Atlantic team did with him while he was training, but we cannot believe that he is the same dog. He has been SO good, and an absolute angel while practicing. We are beyond grateful for everyone at Atlantic for truly transforming our boy and our lives. We can never thank you enough!

The groomer noticed that Chloe began to behave strangely and when she picked her up noticed that her snout was cold and that her gums and tongue were white. They immediately took her to Saugus Animal Hospital. When she arrived there, Chloe's blood pressure was extremely low. She was very sick and we had to rush her to Mass. Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn. There we learned that Chloe had an aggressive form of cancer and was bleeding internally and had fluid around her heart. We were blindsided by this. Chloe had shown no signs of anything being wrong. She appeared to be a happy and healthy 7 year old dog. We said our goodbyes and she was euthanized. I want to give special thanks to Dr. Bloom at Saugus Animal Hospital. She did everything she could for Chloe. Also, my heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer, the groomer at PetSmart and to Anthony, the store manager. They went above and beyond. They stayed at Saugus Animal Hospital until we left. They were both visibly upset. Anthony followed up with me the next day. PetSmart paid for Chloe's cremation and urn. They certainly didn't have to. They had done nothing wrong. But, it was a very kind gesture. Thank you again to all involved. RIP Chloe...the sweetest dog.

On their website it states: "Pre-registration and payment is required to reserve a spot at orientation. Orientation is without your dog and does not count as one of your training weeks." So my partner and I signed up to learn more about their training, while looking at other options to determine what was best for our dog. We went to orientation on April 27th at 7pm where we received a booklet explaining their method and had a chance to ask questions. As our dog's aggressiveness was getting worse, we decided to start implementing some of their exercises in their book. We also agreed to confirm our attendance originally for May 11th and after emailing Canine University that we were struggling, we were moved to the May 4th class and confirmed our attendance. As our dog's behavior was escalating, we decided to contact another trainer that provided in-home service. We then emailed Canine University on May 4th that we would not be attending their classes and requested a partial refund. We received an email that they do not give out refunds and then they tried to convince us to go to the first class and then to private training. The cancellation policy on their website states: "Full refund if you notify us 48 hours prior to class start date. No refunds after the first class." We attended orientation and not a class. We asked where on their website the policy of no refunds after orientation was stated and have not received a response. If this business was confident in their training methods, they would operate differently and not be afraid to give customers refunds when no services have been rendered.

The place looks like an abandoned warehouse, but inside it turned out to be a sweet dog training school. I found this place thanks to Dachary C, who suggested it for agility classes. From the beginning, when I emailed Paul and Gerilyn (the husband and wife duo who own and run the place) through the seven week class, I felt that I 100% got my money's worth. Gerilyn was our instructor, and she managed all the dogs wonderfully. She just knows how to coach you and your dog, and catered her feedback to each dog's needs. (In other words, she made me feel comfortable with my unruly, ridiculous dog, which helped me manage him better and get the most out of class). These guys use operant conditioning(big word for clicker training) and sell tasty treats and foods too. And Gerilyn fielded random questions from dog owners each week, and provides resources for you on anything from training to medical advice, to where we could take our dogs for further expansion on our class. We'll definitely be back for more, since Gerilyn and Canine U totally rock!

Finding a daycare for your furbaby that FEELS right is tough: some are too expensive, some are too…read moremuch like a kennel, some have facilities that you don't like, some do a lot of crating, some are poorly staffed, the list is endless... Dogs for Days is none of these things. It checks all the boxes you need: clean, affordable, safe, staff that loves your baby like they're one of their own pups, 24/7 staffing, and CAGE FREE -this one is really important because there are a lot of places that advertise hotel suites for your dogs but honestly those are just fancy-looking kennels... great if your pup is into that and is comfortable sleeping alone, not so great if your pup is used to snuggling with you in bed - ANYWAY, I digress. We started at Dogs for Days when our puppy was about 9 months old, and when it was still Paws Up - our doggie loved it, we liked it but we weren't thrilled. We were thinking about switching to another daycare when Nick and Michelle took over. Katie, one of the staff, told us that these new owners (whom we hadn't met yet) were amazing and truly dog lovers. Okay we thought, let's stick around and see how this turns out. THANK GOD THAT WE DID. In the last 4-5 months, Nick and Michelle have created a place that we honest to God would be lost without. They, and their staff, go above and beyond to make sure that you feel 200% comfortable leaving your dog with them for a few hours to a few days (or more!). They will text you pictures, give you updates, email you, facetime you, whatever you need when you're away from your baby. Unfortunately this year our puppy Mila turned 1 the same weekend we had to be out of town. What did Dogs for Days do? Well I'll let you look at the pictures and see for yourself - birthday bandana, a handmade birthday sign, and constant updates to let us know that she was having a wonderful time. These are the types of little things they'll do that are truly wonderful. They didn't need to do this but they did it because they knew how much it meant to us - probably more than it meant to Mila haha I've personally seen Michelle work with a family who had a dog with a disability to help them socialize the pup and make sure he (or maybe she) has a happy and well-socialized doggie life. Could they have just turned the family away as so many other daycares would do? Probably, but they didn't and that's what matters. When a dog in the area that they knew went missing, Nick was out there every day helping to find him (don't worry they found him so it's a happy ending!). My point is that it's very hard to find people who understand your connection to your dog(s). Dogs, cats, other pets...they're family. And when you have to leave them for work or a weekend or for whatever reason, you want to feel like they'll be treated like family. We leave Mila during the week week knowing that she is going to have a great time, that if something happens she'll be in good hands, and that she's happy - which makes us happy. We leave her for longer periods - weekends - knowing that she can sprawl out on a couch or bed surrounded by other dogs and most importantly, A PERSON. We know that she won't be scared in a kennel all by herself, and that if something goes wrong there is always someone there for her. Although full disclosure I still cry every time we have to leave her. If you're anything like us (and I suspect you are if you've read this very long review about a doggy daycare), then your dog is like your baby and Dogs for Days is the best for your baby.
