Amazing staff, hometown atmosphere & delicious breakfast. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try for some good ole comfort food.

Omelette with green chilies, the eggs were burnt or overcooked did not look well at all

I came in to get an omelette with green chilies. And this is what they served me and overcooked omelette. Everything looks burnt. I didn't eat it. They didn't bother to offer me something new. The waiter says that's how our omelettes are served. Not for this man I'm probably never gonna go back there again.

    Closed for good. 10/29/2024

Sign on the door says this place is permanently closed. Very unfortunate. Loved their food.

I swear to God, this is such an odd place! The dichotomy between old and young still perplexes me…read more The majority of the clientele is elderly....think 80+. The majority of the employees (the servers, at least) are 25 and under. Plus, this place gives off Greek restaurant vibes, like the kind where you can get a gyro, spaghetti, or chow mein all in the same place: jack of all, master of none. You think it's all going to be tasteless food, but you would be oh so wrong. Mom and dad (80+, but with it) ordered liver and onions, I got an open faced turkey sandwich, and hubs got country fried sirloin. Everyone agreed that their food was delicious. I can't speak to the others, but for me, the turkey was moist, not dry, and the gravy (which they drenched over my turkey without asking, thank you very much) had really good seasoning to it...not overly peppery like at most places. The mashed potatoes were soft, not chunky, my side of corn was very buttery and NOT served in a bowl of corn water, and my cranberries were from a can (THE BEST KIND, and yes I WILL FIGHT YOU on this). We all ordered pie for dessert and I should have went with everyone else and gotten Key Lime, but I chose cherry. It wasn't the greatest of flavor as, even though there were real cherries in it, it was predominantly cherry flavored goo. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised, and I would come here again. But only with my parents, because I think hubs and I were the only people under 60, lol. 10/2026

A Midwestern Classic Done Right at Jimichael's…read more I found Jimichael's while searching for "breaded pork tenderloin sandwich near me," and I couldn't have been happier. The restaurant is celebrating its 30‑year anniversary at this location, and the owner is rumored to be from Chicago, which makes sense--the place feels very much like a classic Midwestern eatery. I went with my wife and a group of friends, one of whom is originally from Detroit and was craving an "Iowa Porker" (a breaded pork tenderloin sandwich). He and I both ordered it, and it was excellent--perfectly breaded and served on a bun with lettuce, onion, tomato, and mayo. Absolutely delicious. The restaurant was clean, the staff was exceptional, and drink refills were constant without ever having to ask. My wife ordered the chef's salad, which was fine but not outstanding. My friend's wife ordered a burger and fries, and that was spot‑on: thick, juicy beef on a deli bun with a full garden of toppings. The fries were crispy, not greasy, and definitely noteworthy. We will absolutely be going back. They also serve walleye for their fish fry, the menu is substantial, and they offer specials for all holidays.

The interior is a throwback to grandma's house, cozy yet surprisingly large inside. There are small knickknacks in areas all over, most with sayings on them, and cutesy yard decorations for sale up front. Remember, this is Sun City we are talking about, so we wouldn't expect much else. We were seated immediately. There were several diners in the place yet it still read somewhat empty. The menu is large, with lots of options, all day breakfast as well, and several specials, including fried walleye. That did it for me- I'm from northern Illinois and there are very few places out here serving walleye, my favorite fish besides halibut. My son got the payment and brother in law got the polish kielbasa with the sauerkraut on the side because he doesn't like it and Mike and I would eat it. Service was prompt and very attentive throughout the meal. Dinners come with soup or salad, potatoes or veggies. I chose one of the soups of the day: cabbage tomato. It was pretty tasty. Their cup size is almost a bowl in other restaurants. My son got the split pea and he was happy with his as well. Our entrées arrived. Mike's patty melt was huge. Ron's kielbasa was ok. Not a giant portion of the sausage but he also got mashed potatoes and the sauerkraut came in a salad dish. He loved the sausage. There were four giant sized pieces of fish on my plate, golden brown, and a good-sized portion of French fries. Plus tartar sauce. One bite of the fish and I was instantly transported back to family vacations in northern Wisconsin when I was a kid. The fish was amazing -- moist, flakey, perfectly fried. The coating was not thick- it let the fish shine through. At 72, I don't usually eat much at dinner anymore but I downed every bite of the fish, most of the fries, and a couple of spoonfuls of the sauerkraut. It would be great if they had an all you can eat walleye day there. But I think they would go broke because I would be there each time, lol. The tartar sauce didn't seem homemade - it was a little sweet for my taste but it went well with the fish. I'm a fan of malt vinegar on fish but didn't ask for it. Did I tell you fish was so freaking good? With our bellies quite full, we got desserts to go - my son got carrot cake, I got the chocolate cake, and Ron got cheesecake. I've had their carrot cake before and it's really good. Ron liked the cheesecake. The chocolate cake was just meh. It was dry with an odd aftertaste. Hardly any frosting. I expected better at a place that looked like most things are homemade. I'll definitely go back for the walleye there. They also had catfish on the menu - maybe I'll try that if the walleye is not on next time. With tip, the four of us ate for a little over $88.00. It wasn't cheap but it was not like getting dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant in the city (even though I'd nominate that chef for the catfish, lol).

Outstanding food and eating-in experience…read more Their KRISPY KRUNCHY FRIED CHICKEN is FAR better, MUCH more highly superior, to any of the other fried chicken chain outlets we've tried before. Cooked just right. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Excellent, fresh flavor! As it is prepared to order, expect about a 15 minute wait time for the chicken... but WELL worth that wait, as it turned out. Fries and Onion Rings sides were PERFECT, and tastier than most. Interesting, varied menu, too! Very generous portions... and the chicken pieces were real, actual sized pieces of chicken... not like the canary-sized tidbits served up by today's fried chicken chain outlets! Although the seating area was VERY small (store front operation,) the facilities were bright, clean and well maintained. The staff was welcoming, patient and most helpful as we worked our way through their surprisingly large, and varied menu! Reasonably priced, too! Overall... a happy find... and now one of our go-to favorites! Just wish they had a LOT more locations closer (to us!) Surprise/Sun City areas would benefit from having closer access to Outta Bronx sandwich/hot dog/wings/Krispy Krunchy chicken locations! I think it would catch on in no-time... assuming today's quality, and value, remained the same, of course. I'm, generally, hard to please... but Outta Bronx/Krispy Krunchy chicken seems to hit it on all cylinders! VERY pleased. Mark us down as huge fans!

Today is my mom's birthday, so I wanted to take her somewhere for brunch. I've heard good things…read moreabout Hash Kitchen, so I decided to take her here. I'd say it was a good decision. We both loved the food! Since it was a Sunday, I knew it'd be busy. I figured it'd be a good idea to check whether Hash Kitchen offers a way to join the waitlist online. Luckily, they do! I joined ahead of time and we arrived about 30 minutes later. While there were tons of people waiting for a table outside, our table was ready within minutes of us checking in. We were promptly seated and our waitress did not take long to take our order. I wasn't sure how long the wait would be after ordering, but it was surprisingly quick considering how busy they were. We ordered the Boujee Biscuits to share. Those were delicious! It comes with three kinds of butter, but my favorite was the salted caramel one. We also each ordered the Best F#*%ing Birria Hash and shared a stack of the Buttermilk Pancakes. Everything was so good, but I especially loved the Birria Hash. Once we finished eating, I was able to pay by scanning a QR code on our table, which was really convenient. I can truly say we had a great experience.

My husband and I visited Hash Kitchen on Sunday morning right before 11:30 AM. We were able to join…read morethe waitlist online, but their process is a bit different than what we're used to. Even after joining the waitlist, you still have to check in with the hostess upon arrival, and there may still be an additional wait. When we arrived, we were told it would be about a 20-minute wait for a table, or we could sit at the bar. We chose the bar, but honestly, we wish we had waited for a table because the bar area felt a bit tight. The bartenders were very nice, but at times it seemed like they were a bit overwhelmed, as we had to wave them down a few times for assistance. One highlight was the live DJ--the music selection was great and really added to the overall atmosphere. For food, we ordered the Basic AF and the chicken and waffles. Unfortunately, the food temperature was disappointing. The waffles were cold, and most of the Basic AF dish was cold as well, except for the eggs. The only item that was warm on my plate was the chicken. This is definitely something that should be improved--breakfast dishes should be served hot and fresh. For drinks, we ordered a Bloody Mary and wanted to add a mini Miller High Life, but they were out of stock, which was disappointing. Instead, we opted for a Corona, which felt overpriced at $7 for a single bottle--especially when it's being used as an add-on. A lower price point would feel more reasonable in that situation. On a positive note, I also ordered the Boozy Bag drink with a watermelon slice, and it was absolutely delicious--definitely a highlight of the visit. The restaurant does offer a good amount of outdoor seating with shade coverings, which is great for avoiding the sun. Inside, especially near the bar, you can hear the music much better, but it's still audible outside depending on where you sit. Our total bill for two came to about $70, so it's something to plan for in terms of pricing. One additional suggestion: we did notice bartenders and staff handling drink garnishes--such as fruit and decorative items like cotton candy--with their bare hands. For hygiene and cleanliness purposes, it would be highly recommended for staff to use gloves or some type of protective covering when preparing drinks, especially since these items go directly into customer beverages. Overall, we enjoy the vibe and energy here, but consistency with food temperature and attentiveness during busy times would really improve the experience. Also, it looks like they offer a rewards program that requires linking a credit card--we're not fully sure how it works, but it might be worth asking about for future visits.
