I called Kenny after noticing that my family and I were getting "shocked" in our home pretty frequently; we were fairly certain it was due to some DIY electrical work our landlord had done. Whatever you do, stay away from Kenny's electric. Our school retained Kenny for what turned out to be a simple fuse box adjustment and we were charged a total of $600. There were no supplies used and the total amount of time he worked was likely 30 minutes. (Our school team tracked by all the drawings to help identify the right fuse box.) He did not discuss the costs at all with us, and instead called and demanded $600. We told him he needed to write up a bill. It took about 1-2 weeks to get any paperwork. Once we got it, it was $200/hour: 1 hour for driving time and 2 hours for "Layber." He was only in our building for 84 minutes. Stay away. read more

I called Kenny's Electric to install 3 ceiling fans in my new home. I sent up an appointment two days later with Ishkhan. He kept me informed via text and showed up on time. Ishkhan worked very hard, nonstop, installing and programming 3 ceiling fans. Ishkhan did a great job, very professional, done right the first time. Ishkhan is an excellent electrician, and his prices are very reasonable. I will use him again. I recommend Kenny's Electric highly. read more

He claimed the breaker was broken after being left in the house alone for a minute! it was def not broken before & it was the MAIN breaker switch! If that was broken we wd have had more issues than just one fixture flickering! Not much I cd do about the fee since 'work' was already done by the time I got home. Also tracked mud & snow into my house - and ruined a brand new rug I had in my kitchen. Not impressed at all. Very old school, did not provide receipt, refused to take credit card-would only take a check AND to top it off the the damn light is still flickering !!!!! read more

Helped me select the best circuits, wired it neatly, installed transfer switch exactly as I wanted for aesthetics, and we tested it together to be sure I knew how to operate it. He is super responsive via text. He is also very personable and I enjoyed our conversations. I'd say the stand out traits of Kenny are #1 he placed our safety first and made several suggestions to be sure he built the safest system for our needs as he understands lay people can forget a step when in a rush and #2 he was highly responsive and took care to do a great install. I called on a Friday afternoon around 4:30 and Kenny picked up damn near immediately, which I've thought was impressive. I described the work I needed done (checking for active knob and tube wiring as part of the National Grid energy assessment) and he gave me an estimate ($150, which I thought was fair) and scheduled a time for the next day, Saturday around noon. He showed up closer to 1 than noon, but he acted professionally and did the inspection quickly and checked all the places he was supposed to. Before I called I read the reviews on here and saw some people were really not satisfied with their experience with Kenny's Electric. I know I didn't ask for anything difficult but I'd definitely recommend them because I thought they did a great job. read more

Simply needed an estimate on three house projects, so this is not a comment on their work, but on their prices. Install kitchen counter accent lights - 2 of them. Install a switch and light at the top of the basement stairs. Install a switch and a light over the vanity in the bathroom. I'm thinking 6 hours work, generously, for all 3 projects. Their estimate was $1,400. We're not knocking down drywall here, we're drilling holes and snaking wire no more than 5 feet from the power source on all 3 jobs. Who out there earns a thousand bucks in a 6-hour day? Not recommended, except for rich people. read more

Kenny was great! We had some exposed wires in our attic. My husband was away and I wanted it looked at immediately. I called Kenny early on a Saturday morning. He said he couldn't promise that he had time to come make an estimate, but took my number. A few hours later, he said he had time and would come by. Very professionally came in, saw that we removed our shoes in the house and removed his shoes too! I certainly didn't expect him to but it was nice. I notice little things. Kenny fully inspected the attic, offered a reasonable estimate, and offered to either do the project at that time or return later in the week. We had him finish it up that day. He was great! I left a message on Sunday and Ishkan returned my call on Monday (that is, Christmas Eve Monday). He came 10am and spent about three hours at our house to trouble shoot and find issues we were having with the circuit breaker. The charge was reasonable and we were grateful he came even though it was the busiest day of the holiday season. He was very patient in explaining the process and I also appreciated that he cared to take off his shoes when he came in. It's sometimes the little things that make a big difference. I have used Kenny's Electric twice and been very happy both times! Ishkahn Tavitian is a knowledgeable electrician who came within a few hours both times that I called him. He has installed light fixtures, fixed a problem caused by a water leak near my electric panel, and fixed a short in a circuit. I highly recommend him. I live on College Hill and therefore close to Kenny's Electric. The light sensor in my driveway was not working. I contacted Kenny who arrived the next day, fiddled for an hour with wires and then asked for $250. He explained that he had spent two hours on the road and only someone as expert as he could solve so difficult a problem as a defective light sensor. I thought he charged me about three times more than he should have - especially since he did not fix the sensor and had to return the next day. Why was I so flagrantly overcharged? Because I am a little old woman. What Kenny did not realize is that I am a very smart little old woman who has lost none of her marbles. read more

I had a problem with my circuit breaker and used the yellow pages for this as my internet was not working. I am always a little wary of using someone without a recommendation, but I needed it fixed, so I called this number. I not only got a live person on the phone, but he was in my house in less than an hour. He fixed the problem and I felt his fee was very reasonable. Shortly after he left I realized my microwave was not on. I called Kenny again and he came back to the house and was able to diagnose the problem and fixed it. He did not charge me for the return and I tried to give him something, but he refused. I find it hard today to find someone so reputable and honest, so I had to write a review for this man. He was wonderful and I wanted to share this with others ...as we need to keep people like him in business. I will definitely use this service again and recommend him highly! read more
