This is for the taylor (man) at the New Dempster location.... I brought in an old wool blanket. I wanted the satin edges sewn back on. I could tell that he didn't think that it was worth it, and it clearly showed in the workmanship (lack of ), but I still wanted to do it . The job cost $40. He did not have to buy any new material. When I got home and looked at the blanket, he did such a bad job. the lines were not straight, they were not parallel. Parts of the fabric could have been folded down for a better appearance, but he did not bother. I am really unhappy with this. read more

Very disappointed. This is not cleaning. That is purely ironing dirty clothes to look like it was clean. Shame, as people count on picking up clean cloths. I was in a rush going out of town, sure the coat is clean, not fun when you want to wear and see basically the same as I dropped but just not wrinkled up. I returned asking for correction. This time I checked picking up to see that nothing was done and I was told when I pointed out that obviously it can't be cleaned, but still was charged for it. First off, the lady working the counter (also the seamstress) is VERY nice. But I'm disappointed with the work that was completed. I needed a zipper replaced on an expensive parka coat. Brought it in and we both agreed it needed a heavier zipper. She asked, "Do you want a double zipper as it has now?" I asked what she thought and she replied "Yes, a double zipper is better since it's a longer coat." Sounds good, let's do the double. I go to pick up the coat. There were a few places where the seam was off about a quarter of an inch and a couple of places where they went off the line, backed up, and started over. That was disappointing, but it was too late to complain. Then I look and it's a single zipper! I take the coat back and say "I'm sorry, this is supposed to be a double zipper." She replies, "I don't have any double zippers." I explain that we both agreed on a double zipper and it's on the work order. She says "Why do you want a double zipper? The coat is not that long. Also, it's the same price." Again... "But it was supposed to be a double zipper." She replies again "I don't have any double zippers. You don't need it anyway. Single is fine." If you don't have any, why sell me on it the first time? Also, why decide what you think "works" instead of what the customer wants? I should have read the reviews below before going in. That was my first time at a Kenny the Kleaners and will definitely be the last time. read more

Have been using Kenny the Kleaner for several years because of the really great counter people at the Wilmette location and their OUTSTANDING Taylor Tyrik in Evanston, and what started out as great prices! We've gotten the wrong clothes, brought them back to the cleaners and others have done the same- mistakes happen! We have 5 golf shirts that we picked up that were not ours, brought them back( it was a large coming home from college order), waited for our polo& I I'd shirts to be returned- called Kenny several times... he left me one message, I called several times again... We've left money in the pockets, this is our fault- for sure- but it gone forever! We had our grandchildren's christening and my dress had pockets- well I took off my jewelry (and was talking to my family) and you guessed it! The jewelry was in my dress pockets- my two wedding bands, diamond ring, gold bracket and earrings- the dress went to Kenny's the next day... when I realized what I had done I called right away! I offered a reward but was told by Kenny that" it was winning the lottery to the guys working in the back, you'll never see it again " I was surprised by that response! It was completely my fault! I asked everyone that worked there, but none of the items were returned! (BTW they don't have cameras in the plant- even though Kenny knows his people WILL take things owned by his customers- the police asked). So, I knew it was my error! I couldn't blame anyone else. Today was the final straw, Kenny waited on me- I asked are you Kenny? He said yes, I explained I had been calling for a long time we had been waiting to see if our shirts were returned! He told me that he believed that the shirts I got were ours and I wanted better shirts! I said no, we got five golf shirts size M, my son wears a L! He then said I'll give you this cleaning free- I said that doesn't seem fair. He shouted at me "what do you want? What do you want from me? I said an I'm sorry might be nice! My jewelry was taken here and it didn't matter- he said that's your problem! He said what the FU_k do you want from me ? I don't need the bull---! This is fuc_ing ... Wow what a pig! I said well it's amazing these people work for you, you are truly are not a gentleman! How disgusting to speak to anyone that way- Don't trust him- he doesn't seem to care! He said look at all the people coming here, so leave don't come back, we are still busy! Fore warned is forearmed . I just hope nobody else has the trouble we have had- buyer beware! read more

I've had four suits tailored as well all completed on time with care and attention to fit me just right. I highly recommend Kenny The Kleener to everyone. Awful service!! They ruined my perfectly clean dress. First time to complain, the lady was so rude and yelled. Finally she agreed to fix the stains, the second time I picked it up it had more stains than before and still rude and refused to take it back and offered for $5 back. I told her I wouldnt go back there. Not recommend this place!! Very dissapointed. read more

I always appreciate the prompt, friendly service here. Plus, I can always count on the alterations to be excellent. I brought in a boy's down jacket and a ribbon with a red and white reflective stipe. She was able to sew the ribbon onto the length of the arms perfectly. It looks just like the jackets from Barney's. Couldn't be happier. read more

I use them mostly for the laundry service, wash & fold by the pound, and while it takes a day longer than it used to, I have been happy with the service. The staff usually helps me get my "bundles" from and to the car, since I use a cane/walker. I have been mostly satisfied with the dry cleaning; the only issue I have had is with my cotton cardigans. The cuffs get stretched out. While the cardigans are buttoned up, folded and hung over the hangers (so the shoulders don't get stretched out), the cuffs are still stretched out when I get them back. They really need to be hand-washed, so I take some responsibility for this. Illene does alterations and I have been happy with the 2-3 items she worked on for me. read more

On our first experience here, not only were they extremely rude but they insisted that we pay in full upfront which is extremely abnormal and does not give the customer the opportunity to make sure that everything turned out all right before painting. To add insult to injury, they refused to take an article of clothing because "It was covered in dog hair" and they wouldn't clean it, never in all my years have I heard a remark such as this or had a problem with any of these things at any cleaners. Their treatment of customers and their every day practices as a business are abhorrent and they do not deserve your business. read more

We have gone there before and have been so happy, however they missed a HUGE stain on my husband's jacket after picking it up! He needs it for a wedding tomorrow and they will not be able to have it ready until after 5. They gave me no other options and did not even offer to refund our money. Not happy! read more
