I have had my husband's suits tailored here. As well as buttons replaced. The fit came out perfectly for all of them. Regular dry cleaning and laundered shirts are great as well. We are new to the area, so I can't compare prices, but I trust them with our clothes. They also go over each piece when you pick them up. read more

I came here to get a couple of pairs of pants fitted for a wedding. They did great work and the price was extremely reasonable (fast service, too)! They also took care of dry cleaning an additional suit. Super friendly and great service. Will definitely use them again! read more

I've been a happy patron here for years and I always appreciate their great service and attention to detail. OD is exceptionally great - she always greets me with the biggest smile and makes me feel like the most valued customer. Over the years, she's been able to know my family and watch our family grow. She and the team go above and beyond to help with all service requests whether it's a quick turnaround or special alteration or repair. She takes good care of all items I bring her way. Thank you for always providing such amazing customer service with quality and care - and great prices too!! I know I can always rely on OD and the Highland Square Cleaners team! read more

Fair communication, great work, great value. They fixed a problem on the spot. Repeat customer!

Alteration itself was fine but the person helping me was rude and not helpful at all. I tried to ask her multiple times on how to alter my garment but she did not go beyond a minimal effort to help me. read more

I am so happy that I have found this business!! Good tailoring services are so difficult to find now. Her prices are the best in all of Chicagoland! I had some pants hemmed and my husband's waist taken in on his dress pants. I also had multiple small tears repaired in jacket seams, pockets and a rip in the pants that were all repaired meticulously. Her prices are great and so is her work! Highly recommended for alteration services!! read more

The 4 stars are for friendly service. Other than that, at $7 a shirt to dry clean, this place is definitely too expensive.

Called for price range for hemming the length of a jumpsuit. Went in, was then charged $10 higher than what I was told over the phone. This is a little pricier than what other places quoted, but I went with it because of the convenience of the location for me. Everything went quickly, smoothly. Fitted the length and picked up a week later. read more

I would give them six stars if I could!!! An incredibly wonderful place- they were kind, communicated, and offered me a very affordable rate for dry cleaning my very dirty jacket (pictures attached). The jacket was very dirty, especially around the sleeves, and would not wash out with a regular washing, and after getting dry cleaned, the whole jacket looked completely BRAND NEW! They got it done very quickly and were both very kind, which I appreciated so much. They also added in getting a tear in my pocket fixed for very cheap, which I appreciated as well. I WILL BE GOING BACK!!!! they are AWESOME GO HERE!! they are both incredible at what they do!!!!!! read more

I have brought prom dresses of my 4 kids here and have had pants and blazers here for alterations and ma y clothing to be cleaned fo many, many years. The husband and wife team is so friendly and are fabulous at their jobs. Alteration turn over depends on what needs to be done and the pricing is just right. The quality of the work speaks for itself. read more

Service is top-notch; the people here are warm and generous. One time the lady repaired a torn pocket lining gratis while I waited. I don't dry clean that often, but have been here three times in the last year just for repairs. The first time I got a little sticker shock, but the craftsmanship was excellent and I learned to ask about cost up front. Each time I've felt that the price was fair, and now I know that they do reliably solid work. Highland Square is my go-to for both repairs and cleaning. read more

The first cleaners I've ever been to, and the only one I will visit now. I discovered that my winter coat from the previous winter season was filthy dirty and I considered throwing it away, but I figured I would ask someone to try and revive it. I should have taken before and after pictures - no one will believe how dirty and full of stains the sleeves and collar were before. At first, the owner was a bit apprehensive about the stains. It took a while, but the results were worth it. They had to wash it 3 times in order to clean the coat! It looks perfect like a new coat now. If you visit the Highland Square Cleaners you will see how kind they are and how dedicated they are to quality work. I will be bringing all my seasonal coats and other items to them annually. read more

Got my wedding dress cleaned and preserved here! The owners are SO nice and helpful! My dress was cleaned spotless (even with stains and dirt at the bottom) and it was done so quickly! Best of all it was only $375, I got other quotes in the $600 region. I will be returning for any other dry cleaning or alteration needs. read more

I bought a discounted floor sample wedding dress for my upcoming wedding this summer and I knew I needed to get it dry cleaned somewhere. What I didn't know was that dry cleaning a dress could cost anywhere from $150 -$600! I did a ton of research and ultimately decided to go with Highland Square Cleaners based on Yelp reviews. Pricing was midrange of the places I found, and living in Lincoln Park, it was also quite a trek up north but it was 100% worth it. I got my alterations (reinforce the buttons, 1-point bustle, shorten the straps, add bra cups) and cleaning done for a very reasonable price and they were able to turn it around in just about a month. Suzy and her husband are very sweet and they did a great job with the cleaning. The dress looked like new! The alterations were also great - I think I might have to redo the bustle because it ended up being a little too long and after some research, I realized a 3-point bustle might be better fitting since the train is so long and heavy. I would definitely come back to have them clean and preserve my dress post wedding! read more

I came here twice for alterations, and more times than I can remember for cleaning of nicer clothes, like my silk tees and dresses. I picked up a fabulous red jacket at the thrift store that needed the sleeves shortened and buttons tightened. The jacket had lined sleeves so that was easily 2-3 the work of a 'normal' sleeve, especially because decorative buttons had to be moved! They did a fantastic job, couldn't be happier. At another time I needed pants taken in and hemmed. These trousers turned out fantastic, too! I love their cute little changing room. It's clean and functional, and well-lit. It's tucked into a small corner and has a step up/down. If you are on crutches or in a wheelchair this may not work for you. Also if you are claustrophobic or a very tall or large person, you may find the changing room lacking. I love how neat the alterations work area is kept. Customers can see projects stashed in their little alterations cupboard and I don't worry about my project getting dirty from clutter or dust. As a side note -- Please remember to bring back your hangars and recycle the plastic coverings! We remove the paper and staples and include with our plastic-bag recycling. read more

If you are looking for a place to preserve your wedding dress, this is definitely the place to go! I was amazed with how beautiful my dressed looked again. It is truly a work of art! It did take a little bit but you can't rush something like this if you really want a job well done. I am very satisfied, and I highly recommend this place for wedding dress preservation. read more

The owner and his wife are the sweetest people. I took my bridesmaid dress that needed to be altered in 15 minutes before closing (just got off of work). As I was trying on the dress, so she could do the measurements, I realized that I didn't have the heels to go with it. They said it was important to have the heels so they let me go home to grab them and come back. They stayed an extra half hour just so I could try the dress on with my heels. I was so appreciative that they would do that for me. When I picked up my dress, it fit perfectly! I would definitely recommend this place if you need alterations. read more

I needed to have my wedding dress preserved and found Thomas' business on Yelp. All of the other businesses I came across were overpriced. Love this place! I called a few other cleaners to get my wedding dress preserved and they all quoted me upwards of $500.. I called highland square and they were so nice, when I walked in the manager was very friendly and when it was all said and done it cost me less than $300 to preserve my wedding dress!! It's gorgeous, I love the work they did and they called me every step of the way. I went back twice after dropping it off, first to inspect that they cleaned it and then after they boxed it all up. Definitely recommend this place for any service read more

Pretty disappointing, went to this place since they had great reviews. Went here with my elderly aunt and the lady there was very rude. Kept telling my aunt to go to a fabric store to do her own alterations. Very unprofessional. read more

My experience with getting my wedding dress cleaned and preserved was better than I imagined it could be! After my wedding, I did a lot of research to find the best place to take my wedding dress, as I had read many reviews of brides whose dresses were ruined. Highland Square Cleaners had phenomenal reviews, reasonable costs and was in the perfect location! After a whole day of celebrating and dancing, the bottom of my dress definitely showed it and I was scared that this could not be cleaned. I also had a belt that was permanently affixed to the dress and many of the rhinestones in different shapes and sizes were missing. Highland Square Cleaners was not only able to clean the bottom of my dress, they cleaned it so well you would never know it was worn! As for the belt, they worked their magic and were able to fill in all the gaps of the missing rhinestones! I was amazed and so incredibly grateful! Prior to preserving my dress, they had me come in and look at it once they had cleaned it and fixed my belt to make sure that everything was as I hoped! I do not know many places that would take the time to do this! When I came in to pick up my preserved dress, they made the experience as special as the day I bought it! They had me close my eyes and unveiled a box, which resembles a picture frame book with my dress and veil beautifully displayed! I was speechless and my heart was so happy, as this is the perfect way to remember my special day. I would recommend Highland Square Cleaners to all brides who are looking for the perfect place to clean and preserve their wedding dress! Their customer service and work is exceptional and worth every penny! read more

Wonderful service and very friendly. they were super accommodating to making sure i can get my dry clean on time.

After doing some research, I brought my daughter's wedding dress here to get cleaned. Thomas mentioned that he might not be able to get some of the dirty spots off the bottom of the dress. I understood and knew he would do his best. When I picked the dress up (after only a couple of weeks) it was beautifully cleaned and placed nicely back in the bag I brought it in. I am very happy with the friendly service and the wonderful cleaning job! I will definitely be bringing in more items to get cleaned! read more

I needed my wedding dress cleaned and preserved after a wedding in the mountains (the train was practically brown with mud) and, after reading other reviews, decided to go with Highland Square Cleaners, and boy am I glad! I am BLOWN away with how my dress looks! The whole process was seamless - they deep cleaned my dress and got every single speck of dirt off of my dress and called me to have me come in to look at it along with my veil before they preserved it in the box. I was not expecting to get to thoroughly inspect my dress and veil before it gets tucked away forever, but I am so so happy and still can't believe how clean and perfect they made everything. If you're looking for a place to clean and preserve your wedding gown, look no further! I now use them for all of my weekly dry cleaning needs and will never go anywhere else, even if I move. They are the real deal and treat your clothes as if it's their own. I never have to worry about receiving a shirt/dress/suit/etc with a weird stain on it, which has happened to me at previous dry cleaners. read more

Personalized tailoring services by Suzy are spot on for this petite girl! It's no wonder they got voted as one of the Top Dry Cleaners of 2011! I have been going to Highland Square cleaners for more than 10 years now. The owners Tommy and Suzy are the nicest and most personable couple I have ever seen running a business together. No matter what, you are always greeted with big smiles and warm personalities. It's almost impossible not to sit for at least five or 10 minutes and chat. Suzy's tailoring skills are expert level and exceed your average service of "we shorten pants" that most dry cleaners offer. I fall into the extreme end of being petite and have never bought an item of clothing that didn't need to be altered in some way. Suzy is always able to take whatever I bought off the rack and make it look like it was made just to fit me. On several occasions when coming to pick stuff up Suzy will have me try an item on and then she'll keep it to tweak the fit in some way. The level of personal service is above and beyond, and you can tell that Suzy really takes pride in her work. The dry cleaning services are great and the prices are on par with similar businesses. For dry cleaning I am always given my price upfront. While I can't always be quoted a price for my alterations on the spot (because my clothes often need a little extra), I am always given an estimate that is pretty close to the total. Regardless of what suburb I have moved to over the years or what dry cleaner may be closer to me, I always come to Highland Square Cleaners for their genuine friendless and exceptional level of service! read more

Alteration Magic. Even my T-shits are killer. This is replacing my 5 star review re: dry cleaning from ages ago. With dry cleaning need dropping and paying more attention to my casual clothes, I've brought in alterations with excellent results. Slacks and blouses that look better with a bit of a tuck along the waist, etc. My big discovery is having some treasured T-shits hemmed so they don't flow across my hips making my hips look bigger than they already are. Such a difference. The hem is beautiful. I think it looks better than the original hem. My T-shirts "make over" resulted in a compliment from my 20s niece that only I could make a T-shirt look designer. I shared the secret. read more

I came in on a Thursday morning looking to dry clean 2 two-piece suits and one dress shirt. I told them I needed it by Monday morning. They said that was fine. On Monday morning, it wasn't ready. They asked for another day, which was unacceptable. Then they said they could have it by 4 PM. And then they charged me a rush fee, bringing the total to $47. Stick to cleaners that charge a reasonable price and have items ready when they say they will. read more

Never have I taken the liberty to write a yelp review. However, Highland Square Cleaners is a business that has earned their merit with me and it is quite essential that they are recognized for their consistent commitment to excellence in their craft. I am notorious for wearing white button-down shirts that require much care and attention to detail in order to clean. I have been to MANY dry cleaners in the Chicago-land area and have NEVER received the same quality cleaning as Highland Square. I cannot express how disappointed I have been picking up my shirts from other dry cleaning establishments with stains still embedded in my shirts. I have been told countless times that there is no guarantee the blemishes on my shirts will ever come out. Thomas and Suzy take these same shirts and ensure they look brand new every single time I pick them up. I haven't been let down once in the years I have been coming here and drop-off my clothes in full confidence. They take too much pride in what they do to let even an inch of a garment go unchecked. Unfortunately, their level of dedication has become a lost art amongst their competitors. Nevertheless, they have seized this opportunity to develop their niche in building a loyal client base such as myself. Clothes are an investment. You want security in knowing they will receive the level of care that protects that investment. I undoubtedly recommend Highland Square Cleaners for anyone looking for a reliable service that they can trust. I only dread the day Thomas and Suzy choose to retire... read more

Amazing topnotch service. I have only use them twice before now, but they have been great at getting the stains out. I recently gifted my brother a yellow coat. They are drycleaning masters, and suzy is a celebrity in the area for her amazing and creative alterations.
