As a college professor and professional pianist, when it came time to address my under eye circles and sun-soaked skin, I took my business to Dr. Kenneth Steinsapir and his Office Manager, Faith. There are many reasons; the most significant is that I have known these people for over thirty years. I truly count them among my best of friends. What most Yelp-posters don't seem to acknowledge is that they are getting not only the highest quality medical and surgical care, but, between the two of them (Ken and Faith), they have six upper-level college degrees in their respective fields. I have never known them to brag, manipulate or break the code of privacy. You are completely safe and totally anonymous with these wonderful professionals. It is true that Dr. Steinsapir charges towards the top of those cosmetic surgeons in his field, but so what? So do I, in my field. Would not recommend this surgeon. He deletes bad reviews on Realself. A lady had a botched operation and it was deleted from the reviews. Yelp provides a better estimate of the quality of service. Faith is condescending and rude. I had a problem with eyelid discomfort and asked her for a price quote for the surgery and she ignored my messages. I scheduled an appointment via phone call and she told me "I didn't think you were still interested" to justify ignoring my messages because she probably thought I would be put off by the price quote. Spent 4K on two consultations with them and then the business manager did not apply the consultation fees to the surgery although she said she would and it would have been 30k for one procedure if I had done it. I also stupidly agreed to dissolving filler for 5k because it can be done much cheaper at other locations. I would go with a university hospital instead if possible. read more

My story is long and complex, however, the long-story short is: ** If you've had problematic eye surgery, Dr. Steinsapir is the person you MUST see to fix it. ** Between them, Dr. Steinsapir and Faith are both saving lives and healing people, "one eyelid at a time." I'm still on my healing journey with them -- but I'd like to share my experience, and hopefully inspire you to reach out to them. Let me tell you my story. I had unnecessary eye surgery in the UK. And it went wrong. Corrective surgery also went wrong. I was left with severe scleral show, a change in eye shape, and other problems I simply didn't comprehend. I visited all the top oculoplastic doctors in the UK. Nobody could help. I felt that I'd lost my "soul"... my eyes represented an empty hollowness that resulted in me withdrawing from the world... I finally decided that I need to see a specialist overseas. So, the search began... Dr. Taban, Dr. Massry, so many big names... who would be the best? I was mainly interested in Dr. Steinsapir, who had written many whitepapers, and clearly dealt with the most complicated cases. I visited his office in Beverly Hills, and he spent MANY hours with me. Every other "specialist" I saw gave a cursory glance at my eyes, and reached for an instant conclusion. Dr. Steinsapir was different. He took time to listen to my story, to understand my surgical history, to check the health of my eyes (functionally, as well as aesthetically), and to propose a solution. He also honestly explained that a "one and done" solution isn't always possible, and that different aspects have to be addressed separately, to ensure proper healing. (Beware of those that say they can "fix everything" in just one operation, especially with the eyes... it's simply unrealistic, and you'll struggle when the results don't fit.) Over the course of several operations, Dr. Steinsapir's incredible attention to detail and insights have helped me to gradually heal... both physically, and emotionally. His follow-ups, his personal phone calls, his utter professionalism... he is nothing short of a genius and an artist. He "gets it" when others DON'T. A few things to note... Firstly, Dr. Steinsapir will NOT sugarcoat or gaslight you. One Doctor once told me there was "nothing wrong" with my eyes, as though he were the determinant of that fact. You don't get this with Dr. S. He under-promises, over-delivers, and will tell you what is realistic, and what isn't. When I'm healing and things look messed up, he will say... it looks messed up. And it's very empowering to feel validated, after every other doctor tends to make excuses about their work. Secondly, the office is METICULOUSLY organized. After many visits, I have never (ever!) seen anyone else there. Appointment times are reserved exclusively for you, and the attention you receive is unlike any other office. Please, trust me when I say this. There is a rhyme and reason behind the way everything is put together, even if it seems a little complex. Try to trust the process. And don't be put off by having to leave a voicemail when you call; once you've connected, this office WILL take care of you, and will not abandon you. Thirdly, FAITH. If you work with this office, you will work with Faith. And Faith is incredibly special. She has been the greatest support to me throughout my journey. She has called when she sensed I've been upset. She has helped counsel me when I've been on the edge of reason. She has helped assure me throughout my healing. Her wisdom and empathic insight is something that I am in awe of. Please, be respectful of Faith and her talent; she helps to heal more people each year than most people would in a lifetime. I've seen other reviews refer to Faith as an Angel... and that's absolutely 100% accurate! I could continue writing for pages and pages. But you'll soon get bored. So let me try to summarize. *My experience with Dr. Steinsapir and Faith Gomberg has been BEYOND excellent.* The process of rebuilding and healing following poor surgery can be a traumatic one, and you need a true team to help you... a team that will collaborate with you, and find solutions together. I recently underwent lower eyelid reconstructions and mid-face surgery with Kenneth Steinsapir, M.D., a Beverly Hills, world-renowned oculoplastic surgeon. I cannot say enough positive things about the entire experience. I am extremely satisfied with the results thus far and am impressed with the precision, thoroughness, and passion of Dr. Steinsapir and his team in treating me. They have exceeded my expectations in every aspect of the consultation, surgery and after-care that I have received. I sought out Dr. Steinsapir after a botched canthoplasty surgery last year by a different surgeon that left me with eyelashes painfully growing into my corneas, numerous granulomas in my eyelids and redundant skin at the outer edges of my eyes which made me look decades older. I had a consultation in which Dr. Steinsapir analyzed the problems with my prior surgery and presented a solution for me to consider. He also identified another issue with my mid-face, which was that my facial implants (from another prior surgery) were poorly positioned in the sub-malar region, making me look older and tired. He recommended lower eyelid reconstruction to address the botched canthoplasty and replacing the old implants with new custom Gore-Tex implants. During surgery, he hand carved the implants to match each side of the face and orbital rim, so that the cheek sits in a more natural position and my eyes close and feel more comfortable. I am extremely happy that I took Dr. Steinsapir's recommendations because the results, even at this early stage, are phenomenal. My eyes look and feel healthier and the implants in their new positions make me look years younger. It will take time - several months minimum - to see the full results of this surgery. (Anyone who thinks that they can assess the results of eyelid surgery immediately is not well-informed and does not understand the healing process- recovery takes time!) But an initial look at my eyes and face is already far superior to what I had before the surgery. Dr. Steinsapir's team, and Faith Gomberg in particular, are caring, thorough and completely patient-centric. I have been treated by many physicians' offices but never have I experienced the level of personal service, attention to detail and quality control that Faith exercises. She is a professional's professional, who is not only supremely competent but also is a genuinely caring individual whose love for her work and the patients she serves is incomparable. I can only aspire to be as good as Faith is in my own work - she sets the bar that high. If you are contemplating oculoplastic surgery or mid-face surgery, I strongly recommend that you consult with Dr. Steinsapir. This is especially true if you have already had a surgery that was performed by someone who does not understand eyelid surgery, its anatomy, and did not achieve a positive outcome as you were promised, which is unfortunately most plastic surgeons. Dr. Kenneth Steinsapir is a very talented surgeon, and the passion he has for his work is evident once you meet him. I feel very fortunate to have had him perform my surgery because I am very happy with the results and with the whole experience, from the consultation and surgery to the after-care. I was very impressed with the individualized approach, with the personal service and with the care, attentiveness, thoroughness, precision and professionalism of Dr. Steinsapir and his team. I sought out Dr. Steinsapir for Reconstructive Bilateral Upper Eyelid surgery because of another surgeon's unsatisfactory bilateral upper eyelid surgery. During my consultation, Dr. Steinsapir was very patient, attentive and thorough, spending about four hours with me. He was meticulous in his evaluation of me and discussed in detail what my problems were and how he could fix them. According to Dr. Steinsapir, my previous surgeon was very aggressive with my blepharoplasty. Not only were my upper eyelid creases made too high, but also I lacked volume of my upper eyelid folds, which he said possibly was caused by matted down scar tissue or too much fat removal, but he would not know until he opened up the eyelids in surgery. When I came to Dr. Steinsapir I was very distraught by the way my eyes looked, but he gave me hope after speaking with him. His extensive experience, knowledge and expertise with reconstructive eyelid surgery are incomparable. I discovered during his consultation that integral to his philosophy and practice is his focus on the individual's unique issues. He does not use a cookie-cutter approach, rather he pays careful attention to individual differences. With regard to my case, he was able to make my eyelids look closer to what they used to look like prior to my original blepharoplasty. Because I had enough fat left in my upper eyelids, Dr. Steinsapir, being very skilled, detailed and precise with his surgical approach, was able to mobilize the fat that was matted down by scar tissue. And being not only a talented surgeon, but also a gifted artist, he determined how low to put the creases during surgery. As a result, my eyelids look much better now, closer to what they looked like prior to my original blepharoplasty and have a softer appearance. In addition to Dr. Steinsapir, all of his office and surgical staff were wonderful and provided excellent care. The nurses were very nice and friendly and the anesthesiologist was excellent. Faith Gomberg, a true patient advocate, who happens to be a healthcare attorney, was outstanding. She made sure my consultation, pre-op and post-op went flawlessly and provided me with personal attention, counsel and care throughout the entire process. Organized, solicitous, helpful with all questions or concerns and the consummate professional, she made me feel welcome and comfortable whenever I called or visited the office. I came to see Dr Steinsapir at a very low time in my life. About a year and a half ago I went through a horrible experience with a previous plastic surgeon who performed both upper and lower blepharoplasties that left my eyes not only hollow and tired looking but also terribly dry and uncomfortable. Instead of looking refreshed and younger I looked old and sick. I was devastated and went from being a very outgoing person to a completely miserable introvert. My whole life came to a standstill. I went to several Drs who used filler to mitigate the hollowness which helped somewhat but in some ways only made matters worse. I still didn't look like myself and I continued to hide out at home as much as possible not sure what to do. After much research I realized I needed surgical help and that's when I made an appointment to see Dr Steinsapir. All I can say is that from the very first phone call I was so impressed with his office. Wow! His office manager Faith is unlike any other person I have ever met. She was so kind and reassuring when I called to schedule my appointment! After being harmed so badly by other Drs at first I had a hard time believing her kindness was for real but now I can attest 100% that it is. I was told that my initial appointment would take 3 hours which I couldn't even imagine was possible considering my first surgeon probably spent less than 15 minutes with me as had other Drs I interviewed about a revision. When I met Dr Steinsapir I was beyond impressed. He is kind, direct and extremely knowledgeable. After a thorough examination he was able to tell me exactly what was wrong with my eyes and how he planned to fix the problems that were caused by my prior surgery. I felt an emotion I hadn't felt in a very long time - hope. I knew right then that he was "the guy". Faith guided me through all of the office paperwork and the surgery quote. I was surprised at the level of detail in their paperwork and their office policies but after going through my surgeries it all made perfect sense. Because of Faith this office runs like a well oiled machine! All of their protocol is in place to insure a seamless experience for their patients so once I decided to go ahead with my surgeries I followed their instructions to the letter. Boy, was it worth it! As a side note, their receptionist Savannah is the sweetest, loveliest person who always greets you with a smile and a warm welcome. She is a huge asset to the team. The surgery was not inexpensive by any means but it was worth every penny. Every surgery the Dr. does is tailor made to the patient. Not only was my initial consult three hours long but once I decided to go ahead with the procedure he spent additional hours with me prior to my surgery, answering all my questions big and small and discussing with me in detail the results we wanted to achieve. I was amazed by his level of care and attention to detail. My surgeries went extremely well and I am beyond thrilled with the results!! I look like myself again but younger and fresher and prettier than I could have even imagined. Dr Steinsapir explained every detail of the surgery and what I could expect as an outcome and to be honest, I didn't have very high expectations. I figured as long as there was some improvement both in appearance and comfort and I didn't look worse I'd be good with that. So to have the incredible results that I do is truly unbelievable. In addition, the after care I received went far beyond anything I've ever experienced. The Dr. made himself accessible in case I had any concerns and Faith checked in with me regularly- encouraging me daily as I went through the early days of healing. I'm still early in the healing process (3-4 weeks) but I can honestly say I feel like Dr. Steinsapir gave me my life back. He charged thousands of dollars to inject hylauronidase to dissolve HA filler. I later found out that most physicians charge very little (i.e., under $100) for the same treatment and feel extra taken advantage of. His technique was fine (he spent a lot of time explaining it, but the procedure took less than 5 minutes), and the results were great. But business ethics are another matter... I've since had a correction with hylauronidase for a slight overfill with another provider with perfect results. $50. There are many excellent physicians out there with superb skills. I'll choose ones with fair business practices in the future. Live and learn. read more

Dr. Steinsapir is a good doctor and gets more than a 2 star. But, in order to get to see the doctor you have to go through his office manager, who is his wife. She is controlling and dishonest and does a wallet biopsy to determine how much she thinks she can get away with charging you. She sets an exorbitantly high price and then reduces it, telling you that you are getting a special discount. Even with her "special discount" the prices she sets are easily 3 x higher than other doctors. There should e a set price and everyone should get it, but she is greedy beyond belief. She is also contorolling beyond belief. She lets the front girl do nothing. The wife stands guard at the front desk and won't let the front desk girl do anything....I mean anything. She hovers over her and suffocates her. She controls when you see the doctor and if she thinks you aren't going to spend any money she tells you there is a two month wait or longer. She scolds you if you have to change an appointment or if you call with a problem and she has to squeeze you in. Usually an annoying office manager is no big deal, but this one is so intrusive and controlling over the patients that I had to find a new doctor to do my work. To boot, the wife tells you that her husband "invented" the microdroplet method of botox, which every doctor I have told this to just laughs. I have to hand it to the wife, she does a good job selling you that her husband is "the best" and she manages to get triple the money for his procedures compared to other doctors I have been to other doctors before him that were just as good and doctors after him that were just as good. There is no reason to pay triple. Dr. Joseph Stone in Hollywood on Sunset is a dream. Lovely office manager, great prices, same mircrodroplet technique that Steinsapir uses, same price for everyone, honest and not greedy. Don't be suckered in by dr. Steinsapir's wife. read more

I really like the doctor. I used to go to them a long time ago when they were located by the 405.. So far canceling an appointment for a friend who got the flu.... was a bit of a nightmare..... But the doctor is awesome. He is so sweet. He spent about 2 hrs with me, back and forth talking about weight loss and dentists and all kinds of things. related to facial features... YES I did pay $950 for BOTOX which is outrages, but I firmly believe he knows his work. I have a gf who needs restalin or collagen under her eye and her doctor said he had to do it from the inside...I told her to go to Stenshapir, he has done it for me under the eye before and I was always very pleased. I'm sure I have been to more than 3 medical practices my entire life and yet I only complained about 3. So if you are trying to show I'm not happy with every single doctor I have visited, it's not working. Considering the previous two surgeries didn't work and yet I still didn't leave them any negative feedback and the fact that I haven't walked in your office yet and I already had to write a bad review, what does that say about the quality of service provided by your office? - Totally irrelevant and unprofessional of you to post my email with my medical history as it has nothing to do with my complaint: the attitude of your office manager, which you never addressed. - "When you called my office, you were hostile to Faith on the phone. You stated that you "just needed a small amount of skin removed" and demanded to know what that would cost." All lies. We both know that is not how it happened. And you are lying to save face. I DID pick up a dishonest vibe from your office and that's why I didn't want to sign up, even though it was my intention to schedule one at the beginning. Dishonest employees work for dishonest employers and this is no exception. I had seen your type before and the other reviews reporting how you ripped your patients off help prove my point. Hi Everyone: I have been thinking so much about all of the botched surgical people in the universe and I feel awful for all of you. I truly understand what you are going through and that the true terror and loneliness is unbearable. My story was horrific. I was so botched that doctors did not want to touch me, with the exclusion of Dr. Shorr. He was a kind doctor who no longer performs surgery, but he in fact sent me to Dr. Steinsapir who spent 3 hours with me during my initial consultation and devised a plan that suited my particular needs and medical situation. You know all of that from my last review but what I want to share with you is Dr. Steinsapir specializes in botched jobs. He will never promise anything he cannot deliver. Please note that most doctors do not want to repair or touch botched jobs because it is so difficult to fix other doctor's bad work. My goal is to help the botched people and give some special tips to you. We need to each help each other. Guys, I know a lot of you do not understand Dr. Steinsapir's prices but when you see him as a result of another doctor's bad surgical results, it takes a lot more to fix you than a primary surgery. The time, the effort, the skill, the surgical supplies are far more expensive the second, third, fourth, and additional times around. Most supplies needed for reconstructive surgery are very expensive. There is so much involved that we might not understand. That is why everyone has different prices. We are all so different in the degree of how bad we are destroyed and need to be repaired. That is why Faith cannot give you a price quote over the phone until you are examined by Dr. Steinsapir. Guys, I know you are angry because of what happened to you but please remember Faith did not do this to you. It was the doctor who performed the surgery who did this. I also understand that when you schedule your consultation, you want to know for certain that Dr. Steinspair is the one for you. Please consider the following: How much time he spends with you, allows him to develop a detailed plan to correct your bad surgical results. He is methodical in his approach. He does not promise the world. He takes precise measurements of your eyes, pictures and sketches the eyes. He talks to you about a plan for your surgery. He also has an additional plan where required when he does reconstructive surgery on your eyes after being botched. His plan could change during surgery when he sees firsthand what the other doctor did to you in the previous surgery. I find this extremely comforting. He is very honest about this during the consultation. I find this reassuring. My advice is to make the choice to have surgery with Dr. Steinsapir. Note that if you have more bad surgery, you may never be able to be repaired. If the cost is an issue, I would like to make some suggestions. It is better to take time, save up, instead of having another bad surgery with someone who is less expensive, and less competent. You only get one face and one set of eyes. Furthermore, if money is an issue, check with your accountant, CPA, or tax attorney and inquire if this is considered a medical expense. If it is, find out if your can write off the cost of surgery if you have met IRS' requirements. Do note that you will be in amazing hands. Faith is so kind and wonderful in helping you through this ordeal. I know this is a traumatizing experience. Many of us have posted and you are not alone in this traumatic way. Be grateful since you can be fixed. If you have been botched, it's not your fault. You are not alone and my heart aches for you because I too went through what you are going through. This is an awful time in your life and it is most difficult to make a decision as to which doctor is right for you once you have had this terrible experience. Talk to Faith and Dr. Steinsapir. I know you will feel better once you have done so. One huge thing I ask is please, when you are angry do not be rude or angry with Faith. She is so kind and feels for you. She is quite sympathetic and loves what she does. Also, she did not do this to you! If you want to feel better, call the doctor who did this to you and let he or she know how you feel. Write reviews and post all over the place about that doctor to protect others from being destroyed and hurt as well. Warn others and protect others. We need to stick together. Also, when you call the doctor who rendered a terrible result to you, let he or she know how they destroyed your life. Tell them they need to own up to what they did to you! I have never met nor had a consult with Dr. Steinsapir so cannot speak to his level of skill. I know that I have read a lot of positive things about him. But I am disheartened to read what appears to be an obvious deception on his part when in a response to a review he says "I wish I got a nickel for every person who thinks my office manager is my wife!" His office manager IS his wife. A little Googling on the same internet that caused me to contact his offfice in the first place clearly discloses that fact. I admit that I was totally turned off when I called his office to ask some questions about a consult. His wife is certainly his best advocate and she offered me everything but the Brooklyn Bridge with respect to what Dr. Steinsapir would be able to do for me. Unfortunately I don't live in or around Beverly Hills and frankly cannot afford to fly there and pay the expenses for the charge of a consult and hotel fees, only to fly back home and then have to go there again if the doctor feels he can help me out. While I respect that patients need to be seen to get the very best advice and recommendation, many doctors will look at photos and will Skype when patients are coming a long distance. At least a patient then doesn't waste her or his time going to a consult across the country if the doctor can tell immediately that a patient might not be able to be helped; or conversely, it doesn't feel like a waste of time and money to fly across the country if told that it appears the patient will be a good candidate for whatever procedure. I asked Faith some very basic questions about the doctor's background and practice and she was quite evasive. I found that troubling. At the time I didn't realize that she was his wife as well as office manager. I thought it was less than professional on her part not to be totally forthcoming with (what I considered to be) basic information. When I later realized she was his wife, I better understood her evasiveness was more protectiveness. HOWEVER, all of that caused me to decide that even if I could afford to buy out Dr. Steinsapir's practice, I wouldn't go to him because I felt I was being manipulated. If nothing else, Faith is very hard sell. After reading Dr. Steinsapir's comment where he tried to throw people off the track with his "if I had a nickel" comment regarding Faith being his wife, I know I made the right decision. One thing I prize above all else is honesty. If you're willing to be shady about one thing, how can I ever trust ANYTHING you say - or do? I've been in enough doctor's offices in my lifetime that I can separate the wheat from the chaff, and I will tell you that the experiences that were most successful were those where there were no questions about the integrity of the players, especially the doctors. read more

I went to see Dr. Steinsapir for a consultation for an existing eye complication i had, And i have to compliment Faith , his wife and patient coordinator for being so kind and atentive , beautiful office, The Doctor was knowledgable and atentive, But i felt sad and disapointed leaving his office, i went in to get information on my eye complication but instead he insulted my past surgeries like my LipLift with another surgeon , which i actualy love my results, and being transgender my surgeries are personal and im proud of them, but for him to sit ther and insult my previous surgeons work and criticizing my scars was very unprofesional and uncalled for, and his comment has nothing to do with what i came ther for, As a surgeon u cant sit ther and judge other surgeons work or judge u for the decision u made to enhance your look, Surgeon have a moral obligation to be profesional and respectful, i did not feel he was profesional and respectful, he is good on paper but in person he is prideful and cocky, LGBT patients be warned i felt sad and judged leaving his office read more

Dr. Steinsapir first caught my eye because he had amazing reviews on-line and no bad ones. I called and emailed with photos since I had a bad bleph (3 lids) that needed to be fixed. I also wanted to see before and after shots. Faith, his wife, told me that in order to see the dr., or get his advice at all, would cost me $1,000. She would not send me any before and after shots. Stupidly, I went for the appointment. I was told I had to sign a gag order saying that I wouldn't post any reviews about my experience with him, which was bad. What kind of doctor makes his patients sign that? I am seriously doubting the legitimacy of his online reviews. I personally saw a negative review on one site immediately get taken down. I went back to read it again the next day and it was gone! Also, he only ever comments on negative reviews. I sought out and talked to others who have had surgery with him and most came out feeling their issues were worsened and not addressed properly. However, you won't find their comments because they are too afraid to say anything due to the document they signed. I spent more time with his wife in my consult than the doctor and she gave me a high pressure sales pitch about how wonderful he was. Then I saw him for about 20 minutes. I was also told I would not be able to ask follow-up questions after my consult. I got my brief time for $1000 and that was it. BTW - I paid $200 -$300 at other oculoplastics for consults. He recommended a surgery that was not suitable for my problem. I took his suggestion to other oculoplastics I saw and they thought his surgical plan was extreme and wouldn't work. Not to mention it was a ridiculous amount of money. No other highly trained oculoplastics suggested the same plan. His wife then tried to hard sell me on getting some old restylane dissolved (one shot of dissolver) and wanted to charge me $2500! I ended up getting it dissolved at another doctor's office for $200 and I'm happy with the results. After seeing the doctor briefly, his wife tried to hard sell me on $5000 worth of botox and restylane (which I didn't need) and she kept pressuring me to book a surgery as soon as possible, not worrying about how I felt about it. All I can say after this-stay away. All they care about is how much money they can suck from you. Don't get sucked in by his reviews on the internet. I have had ptosis since I was a teenager due to chickenpox's. First, on my left eyelid at 18 years old and then the right eyelid worsening in my 20's and 30's. I ended up having 7 surgeries with a different surgeon during that time period to correct the ptosis and corrective surgeries for the surgeries that were not successful. Fast forwarding now to my mid 40's. All that time, I have lived with a knowing that my lids affected my daily life, how I felt about myself when looking in the mirror and the emotional toll it took on me to camouflage with makeup every day. The drawing of the eyeliner thicker on one side, curling the lashes on the one eye only to make it appear wider and the pulling and tension I felt in my right lid in general. It's been about three years since my earlier review, so I thought I should provide an update. I still stand behind everything I wrote in my initial review. Dr. Steinsapir is the only surgeon I will ever see, and the only surgeon I feel absolutely confident in recommending to others. After having my life derailed by the botched work of another plastic surgeon, my ability to wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Steinsapir to friends and family is evidence of my absolute confidence in him and his abilities. I would never risk the health or happiness of people I love! Since my initial review, I have had several additional procedures with the Doctor: Sub-mental liposuction and platysmaplasty, a temporal eye lift, and quite a few rounds of restylane, as well as the micro droplet botox. I have been very happy with all of the outcomes, which is why I keep coming back. With Dr. Steinsapir, you will never be harmed. This may sound like a strange thing to emphasize, but anyone who has been harmed by the bad work of another surgeon will know just how much this means. After your appearance is destroyed, it takes over your life, you obsess about it, you continually kick yourself for not choosing a doctor more carefully, and hate yourself for trying to save money on something as potentially life-changing (or life-destroying) as plastic surgery. Is Dr. Steinsapir more expensive? Yes, but certainly not the most expensive, and anyway you are paying for the time and expertise of a truly top-notch, honest, and decent doctor whose outcomes you can trust. About 6 years ago, I was fortunate to get help from Dr. Steinsapir for facial liposuction / resculpting. I was impressed with his expertise, genuine kindness to his patients, and the fact that he never made anyone feel as though they were asking a "dumb" or "silly" question. I found out later that he specializes in plastic surgery mistakes, so that sometimes, he has a new patient requiring significant accommodation because of their emotional and physical distress. He also tries to do as many procedures as possible in the office, under local anesthesia, not only to reduce costs, but also to ensure fewer possible side-effects which can occur with a general anesthesia. Faith, who handles the billing, worked directly with the finance company, to be sure that I would be approved, and that it was a payment schedule I could afford. In response to other posts on Yelp, I don't think she charges a high price and then claims to discount it for you. There is a market price for any service. Some people can afford to pay the market price, and for some, Dr. Steinsapir may choose to offer a discount. The quality of medical treatment offered totally justifies the prices Dr. Steinsapir charges. 6+ years later, I still marvel at the difference in my face and do not begrudge the cost. I have friends who traveled to Mexico for "low cost" cosmetic surgery - and the results are not impressive. I have to write this because I had a totally different experience. I found Dr Steinsapir's work to be outstanding. He filled restylane under my eyes and I truly looked years younger. I tried other doctors but they did not know how to do this process. It lasted way beyond the promised time period. There was a very high level of professionalism in respect of his work and the in depth questions with regard to my health before he even started. The lady I met with first, I found to be very thorough, very professional. I also liked the fact that when I asked whether I should have more filler the doctor was honest and said definately not I do not need more in that area and he was right. If I could give him a zero I would. He overcharges compared to other well respected doctors such as Derek Jones, who wrote a book on fillers. If he had actually given me some improvement in my undereye area like he claimed he could then the money would have been worth it to me. However instead he put too much filler under my eyes, making them look worse. I had to go back numerous times over several months to have vitrase to disolve the filler and my undereye are was not improved. Alot of the filler ended up in the SOOF area next to my nose making the tear trough look worse and i can still feel a lump after all the vitrase and several months after the treatments. Several well respected doctors I consulted said they would have only used 1 syringe for both eyes in my case. Read other reviews that mention he overfills. I t is not for your benefit and improvement. It is for his pocketbook. Please speak to other doctors and believe the bad reviews. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! I had the most amazing experience with Dr.Steinsapir and his employees! From the moment I was interested in having my Chalazion removed, I was contacted the very next day. I was given such thorough information about the procedure I was going to have done which was the kenalog (corticosteroid) injection. I had a chalazion for almost a year and kept being told surgery was my only option... well it wasn't!!! Thanks to Dr.S and his team for providing me with all the details & convincing me that it was worth a shot by looking at previous patient results of this procedure. My chalazion that was on my eye for year went away within two weeks. I cannot thank them enough!!! Everyone that works here is so kind, welcoming and punctual. Faith is very thorough and provides you with honest/pertinent information needed before your appointment. Lastly, Dr. S takes his time with his patients and is very competent and trustworthy. I see absolutely no difference in this botox result and any other I've had where the physician didn't over inject and freeze my face. Nor do I see any magic with the filler I had injected. Well, there is one big difference: He charges an unethically high amount. And the bizarre price negotiation that his attorney office manager engages you in feels like you are in a pawn shop. "Normally, this would be $5000, but we are going to only charge you $4000." And "Dr. Steinsappir has a special set of skills and artistry. That's why the prices are so high." Please. Save your money, don't buy into the scam. He is a qualified physician who does a good job. But so do thousands of other doctors who don't take advantage of their patients. read more

My experience with Dr. Steinsapir was not good. I met with his nurse for the consultation and she was the one who was making the decision on how much filler to use under my eyes. I told her that I did not want to use that much filler and she would not agree to put anything less. I continued with her advice and sure enough my eyes looked too puffy after the procedure. I went in a few weeks later and asked if I could dissolve some of the filler and Dr. Steinsapir made me come back four times in a span of two months in order to dissolve the portion I wanted dissolved, all because in his eyes he didn't think the filler looked puffy. The price was outrageous compared to other top Los Angeles surgeons, the advice on the amount of filler used was terrible, and the time it took to dissolve what I wished to be dissolved was too long. read more

Let me admit that I was expecting alot when I went to his office from reading his website. I was disappointed. I asked him about some research papers that I had read about Intense Pulse Light and he didn't know anything about it even though it was in the review of ophthalmology. Then he stepped out of the room and came back in and talked about it like he was an expert. He must of read the articles and came back. My friend and I thought it was pretty funny. Dark undereye circles are not easy to treat!! I looked specifically for a highly skilled injector who had demonstrated success with this restylane technique and wow did i find the right doctor. Of course I could not resist some additional filler (Perlane and Restylane) as well as Botox. I've also had TCA peels (Dr. Steinsapir is a master peeler). I'm 50. I wanted to look 40. I easily pass for younger than that. An accomplished surgeon who volunteers his time helping patients at UCLA. Bright and communicative, this doctor spends time with you. When comparing prices understand that this practitioner does all of the work himself (!) Priceless! read more
