I purchased a Groupon for $16 and which gave me 3 games. Upon arriving at the bowling alley, we found out that shoes were $4/pair. If we had purchased the games from the alley, they would've been $2.50/game. This being the case, the Groupon was much more expensive than buying the games individually. The bartender didn't notice we were there until about 10 minutes or so later. On the bright side, the bowling alley was almost empty, and we had a good time bowling.

It is a pretty average bowling spot. I would have rated it 3 stars but, the individuals that worked at the register, whom I also believed owned the place had alot of unnecessary problems. A few friends of mind came together as a big group. We all bought separately on groupon. He insisted that he wouldn't put us on lanes next to each other, even though the place wasn't crowded. He also said, " If I want to be mean, I could separate you guys." However, they ended up putting us next to each other in 3 lanes; I don't understand why there was a problem. The place also smelled of cigarette smoke prior to entering.

I'm really bad at bowling. But I was asked to be a substitute in a friend's league. I obliged if only to have something to do immediately after work. Happy hour + sports (kind of) = Always fun I learned some techniques to help with my throwing motion. And not since I 'graduated' from bumpers had I broke '100'. I got 2 games of over 100 consecutively! Now, if everyone would stop stealing my lucky ball ...

We're from out of town and needed to kill some time before dinner on Grand Island for my husbands birthday and we ended up here. The place is huge, and super old school. Like others have said, you definitely feel like you've stepped back in time. The ball selection wasnt great-most were far too heavy or weren't labeled with the size and many that I tried had things and grossness shoved into the finger holes, which was super disgusting. The place also smelled like cigarette smoke which wasnt great considering that gives me asthma attacks. We were also a little bit weirded out by the sounds the machines were making when resetting the pins-it was very loud, and too forever, and sounded like it was breaking down every time. Funny but also offputting. I can pretty confidently say we will not be back.

Lanes on the left side. While extra set on the right!

Well it's a divey bowling alley. Little arcade, sweet sticker machine, big enough bar, TONS of lanes, fast (snarky) service. In terms of bowling - our group of 9 had ZERO problems. No stuck pins, no computer glitches etc. That has to be a first for me. In terms of fun - the bar was much bigger than I expected, very divey. Like almost a little dirty but in a charming way. I'll definitely be back. For a really average to good time.

I almost feel bad not giving Manor Lanes five stars, but i'm sort of...traditionalist about these…read morethings. The food and beverage selections are good, service has been friendly, the lanes are in good working order, the ball selection is varied and solid...I have not an overtly bad thing to say about the place. I even like the cornball animations that you pose for when you begin so that they get worked into the graphics between rolls. Except this: everything costs like 30% more than at Classic Lanes, the more hardscrabble and bare-bones competition that's like a mile away, which, despite being cheaper, has, for my money, better food, along with about a kazillion vegan options, which is pretty progresssive for a bowling alley, and which Manor Lanes does not have. (Full disclosure: I'm in an informal monthly bowling group that alternates between these two bowling alleys and we have some internal dissension about which one is better, although we all agree that they are both good.) So, if you told me that I could only bowl at Manor Lanes, I'd really be fine with it. It's a nice place, and it absolutely blows away the shitty, overpriced, gimmicky AMF lanes in town. I just might prefer its slightly more blue-collar competition.
