Spicy pork fries with jalapeno
India V.

Was super excited to check this place out since I had been craving ramen for a while. I got the golden bowl, it had a very tasty broth and would definitely get it again but feel like it was lacking toppings. As a ramen spot I was hoping for something more. The kiwi kumo mocktail was very good and refreshing. The ragin cajun roll was super fresh with lots of different flavors! I really enjoyed the spicy tuna hand roll. We also got the spicy pork fries, they were okay but wouldn't get them again. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and clean. The service however is a little slow. Would come back for sushi!

Restaurant went through a major expansion and update in November 2025. Now I don't need to wait so long to get in.

Ramen with chicken and the couve broth

Just breathtakingly beautiful interior. It reminds me of the Portland airport with the wood features on the ceiling. Very aesthetically pleasing. Very friendly and efficient service. We went in at lunchtime and we're really pleased to have our order on the table within less than 10 minutes. We both had Ramen with some variations, I had the marinated tofu and my companion had chicken. We both loved ours very much. We got an order of sesame balls (red bean paste) to go but couldn't wait and ended up eating them in the car. They were so good and especially tasty when they were freshly toasted and warm. Prices are very reasonable and I think I may try sushi next time .

Ahi roll. Impressive amount of ahi!

My daughters and I dined at Kenji's for lunch. The food was delicious! My youngest daughter ordered the tempura appetizer, garlic fried rice with pork belly, and Bento A. My eldest daughter and I split the gyoza appetizer, caterpillar sushi (unagi, avocado, savory sauce, and more), a tuna roll (sushi), and "make-your-own" ramen. We chose the standard noodles, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, and chicken broth, bok choy, and pork belly. I must say... the tuna (ahi) roll was impressive! A lot of tuna for its size. Most places have a lot of rice and just a little tuna. We had plenty of leftovers. The service was excellent. I even signed up for Kenji's rewards program and received a welcome code by text for a 10% discount. We love the remodel! I hadn't been to Kenji's in years. What a lovely surprise. Nice ambiance. We will definitely be back!

Kenjis' remodel is beautiful! Came for lunch with a friend and had a very minor wait for the bar. Seats were dirty when we sat - no biggie! I ordered the Old Fashion with the black sesame and personally wasn't a fan. The staff were all very kind and attentive and got replaced my drink with one I enjoyed. Thank you again! The Chicken Katsu was delicious! The curry add on is a must. Yum. Will be back

Kenji's is looking nice with their new renovations!! We were so happy that they opened. They also revamped their menu by adding in a sushi bar. The staff is always so welcoming and amazing! But lots more ground to cover, so we noticed we waited a bit after we sat down to get greeted and order. It wasnt too busy when we came either. Kaizen bowl- flavor is still amazing as ever. My only issue is the pork belly. It was SO thin. I didnt remember it being a thin cut pork belly. Almost like a thick cut bacon. And it wasnt as charred as it was before. Im happy it only comes with green onions now but that means you pay $1 for the corn and bean sprouts. Spice wise- it was pretty subtle for being their spiciest broth. I used to have my nose running after i finished the bowl. Crispy kickers- this hit the spot. It was soo good as an appetizer. Definitely getting it again. Chirashi set- this was a little sad. The tuna, definitely frozen but was hard. I know sushi out here the fish is frozen. But this one, it was a sad tuna. The salmon was nice and soft and buttery. The other fishes- meh. It was decent. I think i'll try their rolls next time. Just wanted to see the quality of the fish. Overall, super happy theyre open again!!!

Came in recently and the space looks way better than before. We havent came back in a while since we been exploring other places. The new renovation definitely feels more elevated, and honestly Vancouver needs more spots like this where you can enjoy a nicer atmosphere without having to drive into Portland. Service was great, staff was professional, attentive, and overall gave off a good vibe. It actually felt like they enjoy working there, which makes a difference. I did read on their webpage that they aim to bring authentic Japanese and Korean food. Personally, wouldn't consider it fully authentic, especially if you've traveled to Japan or the mainland, you'll notice the difference. The food leans more toward American style Japanese/Korean cuisine. That being said, the food was still good and satisfying. Not authentic, but enjoyable. We would come back and are interested in trying more items on the menu. I'll update my review if anything changes.

It's our second time there after renovation. Place looks beautiful and they definitely took time to think about every detail of interior. However, despite of esthetics, everything else was disappointing. Our waitress had mean face the whole time we interacted. We ordered two ramens and one of them was extremely salty, not edible salty. We asked her to water it down for us and even apologized for making her do extra work a few times and she replayed like she did us a huge favor, and accepted our apologies. After this ramen came back on the table it still was very salty but we decided not to ask her again. After we ate ramen, me and my friend had diarrhea same day and next morning. Do not recommend this place, service is unfriendly, food will make you sit on a toilet and rethink your life.

I love their Ramen, its very delicious. Could use more noodles and meat though. Beautiful setting and newly remodeled according to my friend. Service was great, employees were friendly.

Solid place to lunch with family. The food was quite tasty with large portions. The tuna sashimi with avocado was extremely flavorful and well-sliced. Further, the fried tofu bites were well seasoned and appropriately chewy. My chicken curry was well prepared, but is not as good as the curry I had in Atlanta at Yebisuya. Service was a little lack luster probably owing to a busy lunch hour. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food on offer. Sushi well my friends.

So excited to try out Kenji since their return. Came with my kids tonight. I had a reservation which got lost somehow probably my fault. We got seated 35 minutes after we checked in. We went to the bar to have a drink and after 35 minutes, went to check on our table. They said they didn't know where we were? We were at the bar. So after that, we were seated at a table in the bar. The bartender was taking care of the tables in the bar as per usual, but he was so busy. We were waiting forever for everything. The cocktails were so good. We ordered it off the special drink menu and they were We ordered a California roll and some spicy cucumbers. They were both really good. Great ingredients fresh and tasty. Took forever to come to the table, though we all ordered a form of Ramen. My son ordered the golden bowl which was delicious. The karage chicken in there and the curry flavor hit the spot He loved it. My daughter ordered the original and she enjoyed it as well. She ordered medium spicy and it was hot! She liked it a lot. I ordered the Couve bowl and added eggs, corn and pork belly. I honestly would've liked some jalapeños, but things add up. All the Ramen bowls were super flavorful, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. We also tried a small portion of the garlic fried rice. My son said it was the best. The food is really good here. The service is super slow and a little bit scattered. maybe an off night or a sudden spur of business. I believe they will improve in that area. I will return perhaps on a slower night.

Went to Kenji's on a Friday at 12 noon, New Year weekend, no line, no crowds. It was a pleasant visit to the newly remodeled restaurant. Ordered some nigiri to start, hamachi and ahi. Nice and fresh, good rice, nice presentation. The ramen we ordered - the Original and Golden Bowl. Both had a lovely broth. I could stop slurping it, do good for the gloomy weather in Washington. The original has a kick to it with the Kim Chee and chili pepper oil in it. I had the Golden Bowl, there's some Japanese curry and butter in it. First time having those in my ramen, the curry lingered with me for the rest of the day.

Newly renovated but the food is still disappointing asf asf asf asf asf. I spent money on a ramen that they threw butter on, like that's supposed to make it so good. So embarrassing I didn't even take a picture. Got the salmon appetizer wayyy too small for the price. Rather go across the street to Green Papaya. This place is full of weebs and losers. Our server was great, he did his best. The kitchen crew should take more cooking lessons. I'm never coming here again, $70+ I feel robbed.

Are the ramen options labeled vegetarian also vegan? Meaning no egg, dairy, fish, shellfish, etc?

Yes that is correct. Egg is an optional add on and there is no dairy, fish or shellfish in our Vegetarian broth.

Is the food MSG free as well?

MSG is naturally occurring in tomatoes as well as many cheeses. It's in most packaged snack food, like Doritos. Why does it matter if they add some? It's delicious.

Is the ramen made of rice or wheat?

All of them are made from wheat with the exception of Gluten Free which are made from rice.

First time here... and staff was great. Very good service…read more I ordered the Tom Kha Ramen soup (takeout) as I wanted to try it. I then went next and did some quick shopping... and picked up the soup when I was done. It was waiting for me even though I was not gone long. Got home, put everything in a bowl... and tried to make it pretty! Chashu pork portion was small, but it tasted fine. The three shrimp included were yummy and large. The soft eggs were ok, as were the bean sprouts and herbs. The broth was sort of like a cross between Tom Kha and Tom Yum.... tasty though. The ramen noodles were basically one solidified block by the time I got home, so I just cut them up a bit before eating. I will have to try some of their other dishes too....

Looks can be deceiving but they were perfectly cooked, filled with meat and the sauce they came in was savory and sweet. The pineapple fried rice was lacking in a bit of seasoning/flavor. Texturally it was very good, cooked well. Adding in some sambal helped. The kahri noodles were very good, reminded me of drunken noodles. It states it's spicy, but there wasn't much, even with asking for extra spice. Overall I would definitely try again, but it wasn't spectacular.
