This relatively new ramen joint not far from my place of employment gets full marks for authenticity, flavor, and service! All of my Japanese favorites are represented here and astonishingly well put together: the flavor took me back to slurping bowls of ramen while standing up at a street-side stall in Tokyo. And while I could always use a bit more spicy in my spicy miso ramen, that would basically be just me finding a reason to nitpick, and that doesn't seem necessary here. Fujiya is among the best ramen restaurants in the greater Portland metro area, and does credit to culinary culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. Five stars!

The food was amazing, definitely felt and tasted more authentic than other places. Not included in the photos be we also had takoyaki and gyozas 11/10 honestly. Our host recommended the dry sake and it paired very well with all of our food. Nana was a great host, very nice and bubbly! Loved talking with her she was fun to be around The vibes of the place were chill, the decorations everywhere were beautiful! The music selection was the best, they had some bangers playing Overall had an amazing time experience and will definitely be back!

The food was so good. In my opinion I would say best ramen in Vancouver. Their calamari was nice and crispy as well as their sauce paired very well with it. The ramen itself was nice and creamy. I love how the toppings come with the ramen where we don't have to pay extra. The service was super nice and welcoming and the restaurant itself was beautiful and spacious.

Horribly rude employees. I went to pick up an order, politely approached an employee and was 2 words in to greeting her and she rudely interrupts with "No! no! Go, go over there, stop, you go over there!" when she was at the REGISTER which is the place to go when picking orders up. She drops the food on the table, then explains how if she says to go over there and wait, then I need to do so. Older Asian woman with glasses working at around 7:30pm on Wednesday. If you want your face spat in and blatantly disrespected, this is the place to go. Especially if you're extremely polite and patient. Never ever left a bad review in my life, but this was just hurtful and uncalled for.

Had this spot bookmarked for a little while and it didn't disappoint. I was most impressed with the potato croquette and chicken karaage, both were huge portions. The potato was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken was flavorful and tender. I got the Garlic Tontkotsu and my fiancé got the tontkotsu and to my surprise I didn't like the garlic one as much. There is something off about this garlic one. The tontkotsu one was flavorful and delicious, would probably get this one next time.

Really good find and a great location. When we went for lunch on a weekday, the restaurant was fairly empty and quiet, which I like. I only saw two workers (1 server, 1 cook) but the pace was slow at the time. Parking was not an issue for me and the inside is beautiful and clean. The service was fast and done well. The menu is simple, clearly labeled, and not overwhelming. I like this more because there's a higher chance that more thought was put into each dish. They mainly serve ramen, a few rice options, and a handful of Japanese-style appetizers (takoyaki, fried tofu, etc). I chose the spicy ramen. One issue I often have with some ramen is the saltiness, which did place did well on! It's wasn't overly salty at all. The spice was not unbearable and did not overpower the flavor of the tonkatsu broth. I also loved the variety of toppings that it came with - soft-boiled egg, seaweed, corn, green onions, fish cake, bean sprouts, and.... three pieces of BEAUTIFULLY charred, fatty, and thickly cut pork. More of any of these can be added as well for an extra charge if desired. The portion of noodles is decent. Not too much and not too little. Price ranges from $14-17 per bowl. Would definitely return!

A dynamite ramen shop! Come check it out! We stopped by to get something warm in our bellies, and this place offered so much more than that. The service was outstanding - we felt welcome and taken care of. The waitress gave us recommendations and they all proved spot on. We really enjoyed the made-to-order fried calamari (very good batter, flavorful, crispy, not greasy). The ramen bowls - shoyu and tonkatsu - were great: flavorful broths (but not overly salty), loaded with toppings, tender and thick pork belly slices, beautiful presentation. I got a peach lemon tea (made in house) and it was bomb: peachy, sweet but not too sweet, with a hint of lemon. Perfect to go with savory soup. Our first time here but certainly won't be out last. Come check it out! The food, the service, the location are top notch.

Nice dining area with lots of seating

I have patiently waited for this restaurant to open for a long time. It took the restaurant many months to renovate the old place into restaurant. By the time they opened, the pandemic hit. Fast forward many months into the pandemic I finally braved myself to carryout from restaurants. This restaurant is on the top of my list. They are having a lunch special right now. I had garlic tonkatsu for $9.99 including tax. It is a good deal and I think you get only half an egg, bean sprouts, cloud ear and one slice of pork belly. I have had the best ramen in Columbus, Ohio. If I were to compare ramen at both places, the ramen at Fujiya is about average to above average. The broth was good. The noodle was very average. I doubt that they make their own noodles in house. I do wish they gave me more stuff in the noodle. The one slice of pork belly was way too fatty to my taste. But still I am glad that I have a ramen restaurant in our local area. Just an observation the cook had a face mask resting on his chin but he wasn't cooking with the face mask properly covering his nose or mouth. It did bother me and wonder if it was safe for me to dine there again before the pandemic is over.

First time visiting. There were a lot of pros and cons but I would be willing to revisit in the future to hope for a better experience. We ordered the Garlic Tonkotsu, regular Tonkotsu, and Shrimp Tempura. The garlic ramen was very good. The broth was strong and the contents in it were good. The pork here isn't for me but that's ok. The regular Tonkotsu was a bit of a miss. The eggs were cold and the temperature consistency between all the ingredients were not there. After a little while, there was a layer of fat on top of the ramen that was probably from the pork belly. I would skip on the shrimp tempura as it has a lot of batter and you can't really taste for feel the texture of the shrimp. Many people have brought up the price. It is a little pricy and I think it can be justified with some changes but currently, the environment at this restaurant is a total miss. It looks great but there is a cheap looking microwave at the bar. A couple big pet peeves are when restaurants play FM radio. I don't want to hear Shane Co. commercials while I am eating. Also, they were playing CNN on the TV. If I am not to dinner, the last thing I want to watch is the news. It's also worth mentioning that the server/host was talking loudly while on their laptop at the front bar. Don't y'all have an office?

Best ramen I have found in Vancouver. Takoyaki is on point, calamari is on point. And they have singtao beer! I think I've been three times this month.

Bottom Line: pretty average ramen and expensive for what you get. I had the tonkatsu ramen ($12.99) and it was ok. The broth was good but not great. The 3 thin slices of pork were ok and the egg was good. The noodles were ok but nothing remarkable. So the main problem is value. $12.99 is on the high end for ramen. A more sophisticated broth, more meat and larger portion size might justify the cost. For what they are currently offering, $9.99 would be the maximum cost to be competitive with the other local ramen joints. I hope they make it because it is close to my home and I love ramen. I will give it another try in 6 months.

This review has been about a year in the works. Fujiya is in the QFC mall, conveniently located for folks in the Camas or east Vancouver area. Signs on the empty storefront announcing a new ramen place showed up over a year ago, but remodeling seemed to take forever. Finally, about a half year ago, the doors finally opened. Ramen, while basically Japanese/Chinese noodle in broth, can be dressed up to be a semi-fancy dish. In this case, the broth is richer and full-flavored, and tasty garnishes like soft-boiled egg, bean sprouts, sliced wood ear fungus, nori, and a thin slice of pork belly were added to top and enhance the taste and appearance of the dish. In this era of COVID, we decided to carriy out our Tonkatsu ramen bowls (2 containers constituted the dish, 1 was the ingredients, and the other was the broth). The flavors were good and melded together well. The noodle was cooked just right with a bit of bite to it. The aforementioned toppings were a tad skimpy, with only 1 large slice of pork belly and half an egg in each bowl. We had the lunch special ($10/bowl tax included), so maybe that's why there were less garnishes. If you visit other ramen places, prices do typically range from $9 to $16, so $10 is a good deal. This place is new and looks it; sort of spartan but modern with plenty of seating, a bar area, and a larfe screen tv playing sports. Good place for any kind of lunch or a casual dinner. Menu had about 20 entree choices (ramen or rice dishes), and a couple of appetizers. When dine-in becomes the norm, I look forward to trying the other dishes.

The new renovation definitely feels more elevated, and honestly Vancouver needs more spots like this where you can enjoy a nicer atmosphere without having to drive into Portland. Service was great, staff was professional, attentive, and overall gave off a good vibe. It actually felt like they enjoy working there, which makes a difference. I did read on their webpage that they aim to bring authentic Japanese and Korean food. Personally, wouldn't consider it fully authentic, especially if you've traveled to Japan or the mainland, you'll notice the difference. The food leans more toward American style Japanese/Korean cuisine. That being said, the food was still good and satisfying. Not authentic, but enjoyable. We would come back and are interested in trying more items on the menu. I'll update my review if anything changes.

I ordered the grilled chicken thighs that came with what they called curry rice, tziki, hummus and pita. The chicken was boneless and tender and nicely seasoned. The tziki and hummus were great! The tziki provided a nice contrast with the spicy chicken. The hummus was nice with the soft pita. The thing that left me scratching my head was the vegetables they added to the rice. Yikes! It was frozen Chinese vegetables out of a bag warmed up over the rice. Complete with the mini corn cobs, pea pods and water chestnuts. The corn had a really off, weird taste. Ick. The rest of the veggies were limp and were not at all middle eastern. So PLEASE, if you're paying attention , Middle Eastern Grill, ditch those gross vegetables! Water chestnuts and baby corn are NOT Middle Eastern! If you want to improve your quality, add freshly sautéed onions and bell peppers. That would be sooooo much better. Or even a little salad and the seasoned rice. I tried the Dubai chocolate cake and it was pretty good. I probably won't get it again but it was nice. The guy said they get it from a food service so they don't make it themselves. So for those of you considering Middle Eastern Grill, do it. Maybe ask if they can leave off the Chinese vegetables. I don't think every dish comes with them.
