This VA Beach Blvd Lowe's is pretty nice. They have a large and well-stocked garden section and…read moreit's a clean parking area and store. The store is always clean and free of debris and I've always been able to find wha I'm looking for when I come inside. Staff are willing to help and the lady checking us out last weekend was super nice and friendly to everyone she helped. Recently, we browsed for outdoor patio lights, an outdoor fan, flowers, planters, and mosquito repellant. Found it all!

I have been a loyal Lowe's customer, but this was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever…read morehad. I paid Lowe's for same-day delivery. The delivery arrived 2 hours and 45 minutes late, and despite clear instructions to leave my order at my front door, the delivery driver left my order at the very end of my driveway next to the road. That is not a completed delivery. When I contacted the delivery company, OneRail, I spent over an hour getting the runaround. Instead of taking responsibility, I was met with rude, dismissive, and sarcastic customer service because I expected the driver to complete the delivery properly. The most disappointing part is that OneRail represents Lowe's. As the customer, I didn't choose OneRail--Lowe's did. When Lowe's contracts with a delivery company, customers reasonably expect that company to meet Lowe's standards for professionalism and service. This wasn't simply a late delivery. It was a complete breakdown in customer service from start to finish: nearly three hours late, delivery instructions ignored, my order abandoned at the end of my driveway, and no meaningful effort to correct the mistake. Lowe's needs to seriously reconsider its partnership with OneRail. Every failed OneRail delivery becomes a Lowe's customer experience, and that's exactly what happened here. If this is the level of service customers can expect from Lowe's delivery partner, people deserve to know before they pay for same-day delivery.

This is the neighborhood go to spot for quick hardware and gardening pickups. They've rarely ever…read morefailed at what I needed "right that moment". Parking is close to the door. The handicap spot is a little hard to get in and out of. The store has placed outside merchandise displays a bit too close to the parking space. You can find house flag and banner poles and stands. Complementing them are colorful flags if you're not into football teams. (I am!!). There are grills, beach chairs and a variety of outdoor things. I continually come back for more and more organic potting soil. And I love the lightweight horizontal planters that sit on the deck rail. Mine are filled with herbs. The neatest thing about them are the drain holes, which keep the plants safe during our periodic monsoons. Gardening and lawn tools and paraphernalia are plentiful, as are garden, lawn and herb seeds. At the end of an aisle you'll even find yummy local jams and jelly. Did I tell you that they also have kitchen stuff? You can even get an EZPass. How about that for variety? Should you wish to return an item and be missing your receipt, their computer provides easy access to the purchase. It's especially easy if you participate in their Best Rewards program. What are the failings? The garden center is much smaller than its nearby awesome competitor. My plants and herbs are bought elsewhere. I have had problems with keys I've had made there. The employees aren't the friendliest people in town. A smile or two would add to the ambience. That said, it's wonderful when a locally owned business succeeds to this degree. One of the owner's wives taught my son in Middle School. We love continuity. And we love to buy local.

Any time we need something hardware store-ish, we always go the Taylor's store on Independence Blvd…read morefirst.

A lot of automotive stuff to look through which I wasn't expecting. The reason I chose to write the review is because of the super friendly and helpful staff. A staff member was walking through the store and helped me find what I needed very quickly, the two cashiers at the front were super personable and extra friendly. The helpful staff made my experience in the store amazing and made me want to come back asap. Great customer service!

It is well organized, and I can go straight to what I am looking for and get in and out relatively quickly. This is a no-frills operation. I would never pop in to look around because it just does not have that kind of appeal. I need a real reason to be there. Thankfully they have great sales and coupons frequently. The staff is available but not too excited about answering many questions. They are not negative or unkind; they are just not customer service oriented. They stock the shelves and sell the stuff on them, Period! The store is always well stocked, and you can order online and pick it up in the store. If you need help deciding which tool to use for your project, you probably need to shop elsewhere to receive that kind of input.

Nice to have this place so handy…read more I can't stand big box home improvement stores, and will avoid them any chance I can. For the small projects and quick repairs, Taylor's is a godsend, they have a little bit of everything....including popcorn at the door as you enter :) For the most part, the staff is very helpful and willing to spend some time with you to help find what you need...although if you have to return or exchange something, it's a bit of an ordeal. It involves filling out a form (name, address, phone), calling management to the register, yada, yada. Really a bit over the top for something as minimal as exchanging a $1.25 piece of pvc . I didn't so much mind it, but I hated that it was holding up the growing line of customers waiting to check out so they could get back home to their respective projects. (Just noticed the $1 section, up by the locksmith/glass cutting/rescreening department....)

Or they just brush past you as they did today as you struggle to find what you come in there to spend your hard-earned money on. Today I was looking for mouse traps. If it wasn't such a drive, I would go to Lowe's. If I'm going to have to search for something I might as well pay less for it. This is why people shop online. Brick and mortar businesses need to wake up. At this point you're nothing more than convenience stores for whatever items you sell. Customer service and location are the last things you have going for you. This is sad for me to write because I grew up in a family hardware store where the expectation was to greet your customers, always help customers find what they need, and ensure that they have a good experience while in your business.
