Open through COVID! I stopped in after unexpectedly finding it, cute little place with a cozy atmosphere and funny staff. Met the owner, very laid back and got along with his employees. I try not to hand out five-star reviews willy-nilly. I mean, four stars means "Yay! I'm a fan." That means the place is pretty dang good. Thus, my initial four-star review of Kelly's after three visits. But, after patronizing the place a few more times, I just have to bump Kelly's up to five stars. I mentioned in my previous review that I've always felt welcomed and comfortable here. The atmosphere of a place springs first and foremost from the owners, especially when the owners are as hands-on with running the place as Kelly and Christina. They're both gracious, warm folks, and the regular patrons reflect that - they're a friendly, middle-of-the-road bunch who seem to gravitate to Kelly's for the pleasant atmosphere, good selection of beer on tap including local choices, a great wine selection (I'm a wine neanderthal, so that opinion is offered by other patrons), and delicious food. Oh yeah, the food. In my previous review, I called it "upscale convenience food." That opinion was based on a pizza another patron shared with me. He told me that it was frozen, and I had trouble believing that. It turns out that my fellow patron was wrong. The food at Kelly's is in fact made from scratch by Christina hours before opening, and then refrigerated. Christina doesn't operate with a set menu, but rotates items in and out. Three nights ago, I had her turkey pesto pizza, and it was so good that I'd now return to Kelly's just for the food, even if their only beer on tap was Pabst Blue Ribbon. I've noticed that unaccompanied women seem to feel comfortable at Kelly's, which is a testament to the regular customer base Kelly and Christina have cultivated. You're not likely to see some lecherous drunk-on-his-ass dude sitting at the bar leering at every woman who walks in the door. (You won't see me doing that either, because I'm quite fond of my wife, and because she's quite proficient with firearms.) I'm a live music fan, and Kelly's Pub & Wine Bar offers live music most Fridays and Saturdays, with the occasional Wednesday open mic night. If you're looking for a cool pub in Redding with a 30 and over crowd, and not a meet-market, you owe it to yourself to pay Kelly and Christina a visit. read more

Today as I visited the pub I was looking forward to the corn beef pizza that was highly recommended by some locals there in Reading,Ca. The owners ,Christina and Kelly made us travelers feel at home. definitely A great time!! We found this little quaint wine bar near our hotel. We could walk to it do that was another plus! Our servers were the owners and very hospitable and friendly to discuss wine with while we were waiting on our pizza, which is made by the owner. Always a busy and don't get to get out much but I love this place. Perfect Pub atmosphere for Redding. I mainly love that it's not Bleacher's. It's a great mom and pop pub. Fun wine bar where the owner knows his wine. I had the Shannon Petit Syrah and really enjoyed it while chasing with the owner. Being from Washington, there no need to drink out of state with the great wines we have, so it was nice to try something new. They even have Smithwicks on tap. read more

I really hate to write this review because I used to really love this wine bar! I loved it from the first time it open and it was Uncorked then when Kelly and his wife took it over it was amazing! But something happened they sold it new owners came and their wines are wines you can find at Costco or Walmart and they charge you a fortune for a glass of cheap wine! We went in and should have known the place was dead but we sat down to enjoy a glass of wine wanted to try the Chardonnay on the menu I noticed the gentleman pouring the Chardonnay was different from what it was written on the menu, I also know that that wine is only $10 a bottle and they wanted to charge us $9 a glass for wine that was not on the menu that we did not order, then they took a dollar off because we said something! I'm sorry a wine bar should never do that if you're going to have low end and wine then charge low prices! Also I've never seen a wine bar carry Kendall Jackson unless it's a dive bar! Seriously go to Costco by the wine, save your money sit out on your own patio and enjoy it! I do have to say they were very nice people and I wish them the very best but if you're going to run a wine bar run it like a wine bar not a dive bar. Or at least lower the prices to reflect the type of wine you have in your establishment. read more

I really like it here! The owners are great people and are always behind the counter at the pub. If you've been in more than once and taken the time to chat with them they typically remember you name. They are more than happy to make wine recommendations, and have a quality selection of beers on tap including Guinness poured the right way. They have a small menus of some snacks but on certain occasions like Saint Patricks day serve dinner. My wife and I brought our appetites so when they set our food down we dug rift in and I'm ashamed to say I failed to take a photo of the most amazing corned beef and cabbage dinner I've had. Let me attempt to pain a picture with words. Beautiful moist rose color corned beef that appeared to be roasted, topped with a mild horseradish and honey mustard gravy, that made you want to lick your plate. Accompanied by perfectly seasoned and cooked red potatoes, green cabbage, and carrots. I literally ate myself into a food coma. Prior to dinner, my wife ordered hummus and chips. The hummus, also hand crafted by the owner was a delight! It tasted of jalapeño, lime, and cilantro, and was out of the park. Did I mention I really like this place? read more

I overheard about Kelly's from some locals on my last visit to redding. So since then I have been 3 times and will continue to go back. The location is off the beaten path and is a locals hangout that makes you feel like a local also. Kelly and his wife Christina make you feel very welcome to be there. They have a great selection of draft beers and many good choices for wine. A nice limited menu is also available. They have local good live music most weekends. I recently relocated to the Redding, CA area and had seen Kelly's a couple of times on my way to another bar. I decided to stop and check it out and I was not disappointed. You feel like "Norm" from Cheers in this place. It is quaint and sociable with a wonderful atmosphere and a great selection of wines. I had a very tasty port at my first visit and noted that they had a food menu as well as live entertainment. I have been back and will continue to go back. The food and drink were spectacular and the company could not be improved upon. I have seen only one band so far but I am sure that will be as entertaining as the rest of the place! Went to Kelly's one night when they had live music performing and it was such an AWESOME place! Rhonda was serving us and was an absolute sweetheart, I would go back just to be served by her again! Wow, this place is too small for live music. BRING YOUR EAR PLUGS! It gets super crowded, too. People are knocking each other's drinks over, creepy men rubbing all over you when they scoot by. It can get packed like sardines. Not enjoyable nor comfortable. read more
