I'm sitting here after getting a pedicure. I tried to call to make an appointment, but no one answered the phone and the message box was full. The male owner did my pedicure. I'm the kind of client that pays attention; I asked him to clean out the sides of my big toe - he said he did, I must not have seen him do it. I then asked him if he was going to shape my toes - he said he did, that I was being too picky! Asked me what I wanted - I told him I wanted both of my toes to look the same! Said again I was too picky and not to ask for him next time! I told him I didn't ask for him; tried to make an appointment with Myra, but no one answered the phone! Once he was done with the cleaning part and massage part, he went str to the polish, no base coat -I asked him was he not going to put a base coat on before the polish? He stated they don't put a base coat on unless it's a gel!! I told him, I came here all the time - first time Im hearing this! Needless to say I won't be back!! Once again, I have to start out with a salon review admitting that I'm a nail shop hopper. I can't help it, I still haven't found the right one for me. Along the way though, I've witnessed the same things in Lexington nail shops. The number one strange thing to me is that most of them have children inside of the salon... like children hanging out there instead of in childcare. Which really doesn't bother me because if I'm only there to get my nails done. If you're wanting a relaxing pedicure, keep this in mind though. Here, it's an entire level. Kelly has two toddler aged children. There is a play area behind the nail tech station and a room with a crib and baby accessories. One of the customers who was clearly a regular said something to the oldest child and he said: "don't talk to me". The smaller child was sick and threw up at one point. Yikes. A bizarre experience altogether. Kelly has been at this location for 12 years. It's in the same shopping center as the Leestown Road Kroger, next door to the Papa John's on the corner. I was here only for SNS coating over my nails, which seem to be the going trend. It's a powder dipping process. When it's time to get a 'fill-in' they soak them off and start over. But, if you want to keep the same color, they will do a fill-in, which is actually a few dollars cheaper. They don't charge to for the removal/soak process, as long as you're getting them redone. It's much healthier on the nails than acrylic or gel nails. How did I like my nails? They were horrible! The SNS process was far from my cuticle, so she tried to fill in the gap with top coat. A few days later, the top coat near my cuticles, that was only covering my bare nails, started lifting and peeling. A week later when I got back into town, I stopped back by and she did file them down and painted a new top coat, but that still didn't fix the issue that the SNS gap. And she mentioned that the lifting was caused by the climate this time of year. No, that's not it at all! I will give it to her though, she tried to correct them, but the fact I paid more than $50 and spend at least two hours between the two visits and still ended up soaking them off a week and a half later, is just not acceptable to me. read more

I went to Kelley's Nails and asked for mani/pedi. The lady said we can do one due to time. so I chose the pedi. I told then that I will wait outside because it was a bit crowded inside whether COVID is over or not. They agreed. So the nail tech lady came outside and said we can't do the pedi. So I politely said to her if you knew this why didn't you say something from before. She proceed to have an attitude with me as polite as I was. Almost jeered that as if I don't need to hear anything from you we dont have time. My mother always told me it's not what people say it's how they say it. They were rude, impolite and disrespectful. We have a choice on where we spend our money and we don't have to accept disrespect and or discrimination. I will never go to K N again and I suggest others think twice. You are in an industry of customer service and you don't have to be rude. I was outside on the phone and the nail tech guy came outside to interrupt my private conversation and with an attitude as if he wanted to fight me Just because I said I was going to give a negative review on yelp. I went here because it was recommended by a friend and because of it's convenient location. I got a mani pedi. Loved the massage chair, much needed. Probably one of the best pedicures I've had. My fingers were a different story. I have typically weak nails which is why I do sns because I've never had a problem with them breaking, cracking, chipping, nothing in 2 years since my real nails have grown out. So, all my own nails. The color I selected was NOT what I got. I know sns powders can be difficult to tell though so I don't get overly bothered with that, it was still pretty and it's happened before. Jack only put two coats on when I typically have three, maybe that's the norm there, there were some distractions and I even told him once where he left off. Two days later my nail had a visible crack that I called back to see what I should do and was told to come in. I thought maybe they'd dip my nails once more for a stronger coat. Nope, super glued it and it attached to my skin. I said I could've done that! Was told nothing could be done since they're my real nails and come back if any more problems. Uh, no. Another nail actually ended up breaking completely, very painfully so, but I went elsewhere for that. Most expensive in town for sns. Others are just as expensive but the total for mani pedi was $55, I think I got a few dollars off (Sns $35, pedi $23) and I still tipped another $15 because they're so nice and Kelly was super sweet. She didn't do my nails though. I thought their little boy was cute and didn't bother me at all but I know somedays all I want is a peaceful place to decompress and this definitely isn't a place for that. After a disappointing experience at my usual salon, I decided to try Kelly's right down the road. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience! I did not have an appointment but didn't have to wait on a Monday around 4:30. I found the salon cleaner than most, they had a huge selection of colors for SNS nails, and they really took their time removing my current color rather than just hacking through it with a file like most places. A gentleman did my nails, I didn't get his name but his attention to detail was fantastic - polish all the way to the edges, uniform lengths, no bumps. I really like this nail salon. It is very clean, and the team does exceptional work for a reasonable price. You may have to wait if you don't make an appointment, but it is worth the wait! If you don't like to wait, make an appointment. I have been a semi-regular (seasonal) customer for pedicures since the shop opened. I have never been unhappy with their work. There are always small children in the shop, but that does not bother me at all. If it bothers you, you may want to choose another shop. read more

This place has pretty decent prices (compared to other shops) but there are always 3-4 children in the shop and Kelly spends more time caring for them than she does for her customers. The past three times I've been there, she's stopped in the middle of a pedicure (without a word of explanation) to pick up the baby, help with a homework question, etc. Between the kids' noise, lack of respect for personal space (a couple of the younger ones constantly put their hands all over my tattoos even when asked not to) and poor service, it is not a relaxing or enjoyable experience. read more

I've been going here for years because it's convenient, but the kid situation is getting out of control. Kelly just had another baby, so there's a toddler running around & a newborn needing her care. I understand cultural traditions, but there HAS to be a better way for the parents AND the children. A life spent in a nail salon is not a life. I took my little sister here to get a manicure and I decided to get a pedicure since I haven't had one in over a year and it was only $23. I didn't expect it to be so amazing but it was the best pedicure I have ever had! It was even better than the $60 pedicure I got before my senior prom. The staff was very polite and they also gave my sister a very good acrylic nail manicure. I will be visiting again very soon to get a manicure too! read more

Sorry, but this place is concerning. 2-3 small children running around this very small shop at all tines- which I understand BUT they are always there- children should NOT be exposed to THOSE TOXIC FUMES 10+ hrs daily- I feel for the kids and understand the mon has very limited options. Ladies are nice enough but there are 1-2 men who also attempted to do mani/pedicure there who Id say have no training. Big language barrier w/one who insisted I couldn't have a french pedi due to a small yellow area on my toe. I will not be back to this establishment. The reason for this decision is the lack of urgency to complete nail service; I set in the chair waiting while no one else was in the shop. Then, I had to tell the professional that was doing the nail service to shape my nails. I mean this is a part of normal professional nail service. Kelly gives one of the best french gel manicures I have ever had! She is so precise and they look perfect.

Loved my visit, I got a full set and pedicure. Prices are normal but Jack did an amazing job, he cleaned under my nails, and took the time to really give me an over the top pedicure. I'm picky so I'm really happy he took care of any concerns I had. There were no kids running around during my visit, which was a plus because I had read the reviews and anticipated this. Kelly is great! She's been doing my acrylic nails & my pedicures almost 2 years. She's a really sweet person. Some of the others have also done my pedicures and they've done great as well. They are always friendly and accommodating. It's a true family business from Kelly, her husband, her brother and her sister-in-law. I highly recommend going there. Great people and great prices. Showed up at 10:25 for a 10:30 appointment, when the man on his cell phone saw me open the door to push the wheelchair in he jumped up without hanging up blocked the door leaving us in the rain and said can I help you. We said we had an appointment he said she not here and would not let us in. After several exchanges back and forth I suggested he call her he said I'm on the phone. So I informed him obviously our money was not good enough and there was another place around the corner so we started to leave and he said ok thank you.
