It was only 13 bucks, so I can't complain too much. I also had their strawberry sire spritz, made with strawberry infused aperol, sweet vermouth, prosecco, and an orange slice. I didn't really taste the strawberry and it was a weak, unimpressive spritz. But again, 13 dollars. They also offer mules, drinks with chili infused tequila, tequila, bourbon and fruity purees, a large beer list (a mix of domestics, IPAs, ales, ciders). On a recent date night, the Fat Man and his wife went to 3TEN in downtown Lexington. 3TEN is a…read morevibrant, Pacific Rim-focused with Polynesian flavors restaurant and tiki bar in downtown Lexington. We ordered several tapas to share. We started with the Lettuce Wraps, made with onion, garlic, ginger, peanuts, Thai red chilies, and ground beef. The beef was tender and flavorful, with a touch of sweet sauce and a nice level of heat; the ginger and garlic added a lot. It was cooked in chunks rather than completely broken up, allowing for bigger, more flavorful bites. The chilies weren't hot but added texture, and the peanuts did too. The lettuce was crisp and fresh. Something about the dish felt like it was missing something to tie it together. Next, we tried the Pork Bao, prepared with char-sui-glazed pork (hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, Chinese five-spice powder, and fermented red bean curd), along with pickles. The bao bun was steamed, moist, a little sticky, and had great chew. The shredded pork was cooked perfectly, tender, juicy, with a great chew and flavor, with a few crunchy bits too. The glaze had a slight heat on the back end, with sweetness coming through first. The carrots and green onions add light flavor, but the pickles provide a much-needed acid punch to cut through the heavier pork. We also tried the Duck Boa, which came with roasted duck, apricot sweet 'n' sour, and scallions. The boa again was really good. The duck was the star. It was sweet, crispy, tender, and juicy, with a great chew and flavor. The carrots had a sour, briny taste, with the scallions having a crunch. The apricot flavor was slight, but the sweetness came through throughout the bite, with the carrots' sourness coming through. Our last dish was Korokke: potato croquettes with peas, carrots, and curry gravy. The curry gravy was ginger-forward but only lightly, with a peanut flavor and a peppery finish. It has a good body and flavor, and it pairs perfectly with the potato. The croquette's crunch was really nice, and the peas added a pop of texture. The potatoes were a thick mash with small chunks to chew on, but they lacked salt and tasted slightly bland on their own. 3Ten offers a nice variety of menu items, shareable starters, salads, boas, entree dishes, and vegan selections. They offer a full bar with beer and wine. The wait staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu items. I highly recommend making a reservation because space is limited. The Fat Man says that 3Ten is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.
