We stopped here in route to southern Virginia. We were already in the car a few hours and hungry. It was the fourth of July so our first choice was closed. We found Kelly's on Yelp and our expectations were high based on the positive reviews. The inside is plain but clean. I felt like they needed more branding, color, decor, or something to keep it from feeling so sterile. While they say they're a cafe it felt more like a cafeteria, and that they were struggling from a bit of identity crisis. The menu was limited and honestly I expected more. I thought they'd have some creative wrap or sandwich options but they were all pretty basic. They serve breakfast all day, which hubby got, while I got lunch. I love me some fried pickles so when I saw them on the menu I had to get an order. A BLT and sweet tea rounded out my meal. Hubby ordered a chipped corn beef breakfast meal. The fried pickles were a bit of a disappointment. The breading was nice and possibly contained cornmeal but the flavor was off. I detected a hint of Old Bay which wasn't a good compliment. It took many sips of sweet tea for that taste to leave my mouth. The ranch that was served with it was flat and very one note. When I inquired to the waitress about the use of Old Bay the chef said there isn't any but "didn't know what the "seasoning" consisted of" which tells me they're using some sort of mix - my guess is a breading mix intended for fish. The BLT on the other hand was perfect. The bread was thick and nicely toasted, the bacon crispy and of good quality. Had the BLT been the only thing I ordered this would have been a 4 star review. Hubby said his corned beef had a metallic taste and you could see that it was overly floured. He didn't care for his home fries either and left hungry and grouchy. Being that so many raved about their donuts and hubby was still famished, he got one to go. Saying it was no better or worse than store bought. Overall it was an ok experience, but not anyplace I'd shout out as being great. SIDENOTE: there's a sign on the register with a number to text for a $5 off $20 code. We went to Kellyn's Kafe for brunch and tried a few things on the menu. The Cream Chip Beef was really good, I loved the gravy. We also got the cinnamon French toast and the 1:1:1 with a scrambled egg, scrapple, and pancake. Everything was delicious but we both preferred the pancake over the French toast, it was so fluffy! Stumbled on this great place. It's small so seating can be tricky. Great owners and everyone is so nice. Fries are different and good! I've had Greek salad with grilled salmon both times! Will go back as soon as we go back down. Haven't been lucky enough to get there before donuts were sold out. And they have grits! read more

Order was not ready - and the cashier gave me attitude instead of saying "sorry, we were busy". Then when the order came up, I left without checking because I was already late. I ran into this cute and cozy diner in between running errands. I especially love that it is a local staple so it seems and family owned and operated. Everyone was pleasant from my entrance to my exit. I was able to grab a morning paper and sit at the high top diner bar overlooking the kitchen while I enjoyed my tea. I ordered the cheesesteak with fries, and the fries were a welcomed change as I witnessed the grill master cut up potatoes into think potato wedges and deep fry them. My cheesesteak was yummy and made to order with love and grease. I will for sure return for the intimacy and a home cooked breakfast. OOOOOHHHH I almost forgot about the donuts. They have fresh baked donuts in the morning, in which I ordered 4 to go. They were doughy, flavorful but not too heavy. Did I mention the price is great too. We come here a lot, we like to shop local as much as we can for bunch of different reasons. Get breakfast 90 percent of the time which is amazing. I get the chip beef or the French toast and both are very good. My gf gets the build your own omelet with the grits and she seems to really like it. Got lunch today (turkey sub) and that was yummy too. Every time i go I grab some of the cinnamon and sugar donuts they make fresh which are fn amazing, got them hot today which made them even more fn amazing. They remind me of those donuts at the flea market I would get when I was little with my family. Probably my go-to place for breakfast and lunch. The prices are very good too which makes the food even more fn amazing. 5 stars 2 thumbs up. Will take pics next time I promise. There used to be an old donut shop in the building, and they do have fresh donuts. Anyway, I got the cinnamon french toast (barely any cinnamon), home fries, and orange juice. The juice was oddly warm and the food was kind of cold when it was brought out to me. My mom got the eggs, scrapple and a donut, which she said were all great. When driving to ocean city, by the time you reach Salisbury, you want to drive the extra 30 minutes and start your vacation. You want to zip past the town of Salisbury and maybe grab breakfast/lunch at one od the places near the beach. But as we discovered on a recent trip, bypassing this breakfast/lunch spot (they close at either 2 or 3) is a mistake. Sure there are good restaurants in OC, but very few 5 star breakfast spots, and all the decent spots have LOOOOOOOKNNNNG lines. The food and the servers are wonderful. We had omelettes, french toast, and sandwiches. We also tried their homemade doughnuts- we weren't overwhelmed by them, but noticed most of the diners enjoying them, so maybe it was the flavor we chose. I am stingy with 5 star reviews, and a 5 star breakfast review is a rare event for me. But this spot a block off Rt. 50 deserves every one of those 5 stars read more
