They also had a case with water and juice and fruit that you can grab. Our plane was already starting to board so I didn't get any pictures of the cute pink decor. I asked the young man working there what his favorite empanada is and he suggested The spinach and cheese, I ordered that, and also grabbed a chocolate milk. He was so right--that empanada was so cheesy and delicious. Next time we're looking for breakfast at Sky Harbor in terminal 3 I will go straight there. The owner was very friendly and informative and let us know these empanadas are made in the Columbian style. She also mentioned she lived in Mexico for many years and learned to make empanadas the Mexican way and combined some of those flavors also. The empanadas I had were all very tasty and I liked the salsa verde that came with the empanadas. I had the traditional (had a kick to it) and arroz con pollo. I gave Sherpa the calentado and chorizo ones, but no report back if they were good lol. My only gripe here is that the empanadas were a little more greasy than I usually like. On their website and in photos, they say their empanadas are air fried, but I think I recall seeing oil fryers outdoors yesterday. I try to keep fried foods to a limit as I don't always feel great after eating a greasy meal. And I have to maintain a svelte physique, just kidding there. Diabetes and heart disease run in my family, so I am very mindful of what I put into my temple. I also ate these after climbing as there is no way I could have had these empanadas in my stomach prior. Also interesting is that the vegetarian and vegan ones were kind of food color green. I guess you need to be able to differentiate them, but the color was off-putting. I'd give this place another try but would prefer baked empanadas. I love empanadas, just please hold the grease.
