Great staff interaction at reception for department 41 with Melanie…read more I get one of my meds from Canada as it is not covered by insurance and only costs $1 a pill vs in the U.S. $45 per pill. To use CanadianPharmacyKing.com I need a physical signed script to send them and Kaiser only uses electronic scripts. Unfortunately due to the strike the RN's who normally handle this are not available and Melanie took the time to locate the backup team member (which took a min) to get my prescription done today while she still checked in other patients!

I drove an hour in traffic after work to get to the Kaiser Pasadena Pharmacy by 8:45 pm, relieved I…read morehad made it in time. When I arrived, the pharmacy doors were locked. A pharmacist came out and said they closed at 8 pm. Before leaving work, I checked the hours in three places online, including Google and Kaiser's own website in two different spots. All said 9 pm. It takes minutes to update hours online so you are not wasting people's time and money. That is basic integrity. There were two people inside waiting and she said they were urgent care patients, so they stay open until 9 pm for urgent care. Given that they had not updated their hours, you would think they could take two minutes to grab my prescription. I had received the text that it was ready and had just driven an hour to pick it up. Integrity feels rare these days. There are things I like about Kaiser and things that are ludicrous. Pros: everything is in one building. Referrals are easier than they used to be. Many appointments can be done online, which is a huge timesaver. The mental health practitioners I have interacted with have been kind and caring. Things that need improvement: I was on a waitlist for over a year to get a therapist. Now that I have one, appointments are still hard to get because there are very few available. My doctor recently had me do labs to change medication. I checked the results myself and saw I have hypothyroidism. No one called me to explain this. I only realized it because I looked up what the labs meant. When I read the symptom list and saw I have nearly all of them, I was shocked I had never been tested before. Ladies, get your hormones checked. Women's health care is still lacking. Which brings me to my IUD insertion. It was so agonizing I almost passed out, so they sent me home with medication to dilate before trying again. What they did not tell me is that the dilation medication caused worse pain than when I had kidney stones. Kaiser does not provide localized pain relief for IUD insertions, and I had already taken the maximum dose of ibuprofen. The first attempt was 40 minutes of agony. The second attempt involved 4 hours of severe dilation pain followed by another 35 minutes of insertion. That does not include the long wait times. They need better training or actual pain management for women. Lastly, I needed an EKG before starting a new medication. When I called, there were no appointments available for weeks, but my doctor needed it within a week. She told me to go to the Pasadena nurse clinic as a walk in and gave me the hours. I booked the far out appointment just in case and went as a walk in. The receptionist said they could not fit me in because they were full and only open two more hours. I asked when to come back and returned at the time he suggested. He then said the nurse who does EKGs would be leaving in an hour and could not see me. This was the second time I had followed their instructions and been turned away. I had rented a car just to get there. He sent me to Glendale. I drove 45 minutes in rush hour and arrived just before closing. The nurse there told me Pasadena should not have sent me away and that they are supposed to take walk ins but keep sending patients to Glendale. They were incredibly kind and saw me even though they were close to closing. I know Kaiser employees likely work in a tough, fast paced system. But with the massive amounts of money insurance companies make, you would think there would be more efficient care, accessible mental health services, better women's health care, updated hours, and policies that are actually honored. Too often patients are treated like cattle, rushed through to get to the next. Wouldn't it be nice if health care actually cared? A gal can dream...

I…read morehonestly can't even describe how comfortable and convenient my life has been without glasses all these years. I truly consider it a blessing that I had my surgery with Dr. Lee at CCRS 14 years ago, and I am deeply grateful. When it comes to my eyes, it's not something I would trust easily to just anyone. It naturally makes me anxious. But throughout the entire surgery, Dr. Lee made me feel completely at ease and gave me absolute confidence that my eyes were in the best hands. That confidence meant everything to me. Recently, I started wondering if everything was still okay after all these years, so I visited Dr. Lee again and had a full check-up for the first time in a long time. I was so happy to confirm that my eyes are still in excellent condition. While I was there, I also received a treatment to help with dryness, and it has improved significantly - amazing results! Over the years, whenever I visited other eye clinics for minor issues like styes or general eye problems, doctors would look into my eyes and almost always ask the same question: "Where did you get your ICL surgery? It was done so beautifully." I was told that in about 5-6 years, when presbyopia starts, there is a procedure to replace the lens. I believe it's called "Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)"? When that time comes, I will absolutely - without any doubt - come back to CCRS for that surgery as well. And both in the past and now, Ms. Gina has always been incredibly kind and wonderful, just the same as ever. All of the staff are consistently kind and caring as well. I am truly thankful to everyone.

Once I got into the surgery room, I got more numbing drops and surgery started right away. I was done with both eyes in like 30 minutes. I could see right away but was very sensitive to light and couldn't see up close since my eyes were dilated. I came back the next day for a follow up and everything went great. I highly recommend this! Literally no down time and painless. The staff and doctor were all friendly.

The staff repeatedly gave us incorrect appointment times, made us wait for hours, and then claimed we didn't show up rather than taking accountability for losing my father's stress test results -- twice -- and then never followed through on sending him a heart monitor they said was crucial. When I called to follow up, the office manager didn't even know what I was talking about. This wasn't just inconvenient -- it was negligent. They never took accountability nor contacted us to check on him, which only reinforced how careless and uninvested they were in their patients' well-being. We've filed a formal complaint with the Medical Board of California and have been assigned an analyst for further investigation. Patients deserve care that's organized, accountable, and safe -- not chaos. If you care about your time, your health, or your loved ones, I strongly recommend finding a different cardiologist.

I had to wear a monitor for a week and they rubbed my skin raw- had to remove it because IT START BURNING! They replaced it and even when I mentioned my prior experience of having my skin rubbed raw in preparation. She basically rubbed it wrong again. It was a different person!!! They don't listen! Complained to someone there and they said that these are "HYPOALLERGENIC" which I knew right away was bullshit so I went online and I researched it and it turns out to be untrue. That manager is either completely uninformed or just repeating a corporate script to avoid liability. "Hypoallergenic" is basically a marketing term; it doesn't mean "non-reactive," it just means it passed a baseline test. I found official medical reports and patient cases that describe exactly what I went through. Here is the reality that the "glorified plumbers" I call them and their staff aren't telling you: 1. The "Zio Monitor" MAUDE Reports There is a database called MAUDE (Manufacturer and User Facility Device Experience) where the FDA tracks medical device failures. There are literally hundreds of reports from 2024, 2025, and even just a few weeks ago in March 2026, where patients reported:  * Burning sensations at the application site. * Blisters, sores, and "weeping" skin (where fluid leaks out because the skin is so irritated).  * Rash and hives that perfectly match the shape of the patch.  I had this! * Chemical burns caused by the acrylates (the glue) in the adhesive.  2. Irritant vs. Allergic Dermatitis The medical community admits that up to 73% of patients who wear these patches for a week develop an "irritant reaction."  * Irritant Contact Dermatitis: This happens because the glue is "obstructive"--it traps your sweat and chemicals against your skin, creating a toxic stew that eats away at the top layer of your skin. It feels like a burning heat. * Allergic Contact Dermatitis: This is a true allergy to the methacrylates in the glue. Even if it's "hypoallergenic," your immune system can decide those specific chemicals are invaders and attack the skin, causing blisters and intense itching.  3. The "Staircase" of Reactions Cases show that many people start with mild redness, but by the second or third time they wear a monitor, the body is "sensitized." That means the second monitor will burn much faster and harder than the first one. Since this was my second time, my body likely recognized the chemical and went into full-blown defense mode immediately. (Second time it started burning on the first day) Why this Manager is Wrong - They use terms like "colophony" and "acrylates"--these are common allergens in medical tape. Calling it "hypoallergenic" is like saying a food is "low-sugar" to a diabetic; it might be "low," but it can still be a disaster for the individual. Don't go here unless you like an unhygienic clinic with Dumbo's at the front desk, who look like they hate their job and who are not helpful whatsoever and do not listen, and old out of date equipment it look like archaic relics in a 1970s gym. Also know that this manager who thinks she knows something knows absolutely nothing. How about fixing the water machine?! I went back three weeks later because I still have to get some answers, even though I'm never coming there again, and I noticed that the water machine was still broken! People who have heart conditions need water at their disposal and because of the long long wait, they might get thirsty. I asked for a glass of water and they looked at me like I was an alien and that I was bothering them!!! Unprofessional!!!

My podiatrist, Maurice Masliah, since retired, suggested at my last appointment with him that something vascular could be going to cause my recent increase in foot problems. A brief history of my chronic pain: I have suffered from chronic hypersensitivity in both feet since I was a small child. I could not stand for more than 5 minutes without burning pain in both feet. I would roll onto the sides of both feet to take the pressure off the bottoms of my feet. I was diagnosed with several things over the years, including neuromas (for which I had surgery in 1984), flat feet (various orthotics over the years), plantar fasciitis and finally mild sensory peripheral neuropathy, which resulted in my taking various SSRI medications enabling me to hike, ski, take walks, and provided me with more time on my feet before the pain would hit. Recently the pain had increased so much in my toes that I was once again, completely controlled by pain and severe discomfort. I had a 45-minute tele-call with Dr. Sharma, during which I regaled him with my lengthy (I'm in my early 60s) health history, and various treatments I had had. He suggested several tests, which I completed to rule out a rare heart condition that could have caused abnormal result in the vascular test I had done at Dr. Masliah's office. He also suggested I may also have Reynaud's in addition to the neuropathy, and he prescribed Norvasc. Within days of taking the Norvasc, the toe pain disappeared, and my overall foot pain continued to recede. We spoke again to go over the heart test, which was normal, and he suggested mild compression socks, as well as a prescription for nitro cream and Gabapentin. I haven't tried either of the latter because I am scared of the symptoms, but the compression socks and the Norvasc have been a game changer. So much so that I can now stand and have a conversation with a neighbor, outside, standing on hard pavement, for 20 minutes, without pain. I have been able to take longer hikes, and have tired achy feet, which compared to my previous pain, is like walking on air. I have suffered from this pain for 80 percent of my life. I am now 62 years old, and I have actually managed a 9.6 mile hike (working up to 12 miles!), which would have been completely unthinkable for ALL OF MY LIFE. I know this is probably not a typical review for a vascular cardiologist, but it comes from my heart (pun intended). To have been limited by chronic foot pain for 50plus years and now be able to do the things I am doing is a miracle.
