They have plenty of seats and tables, plus games if you have a group of friends or you're with family. Customer service was great. I ordered the confetti vanilla cupcake, which was really good. I got the peach cobbler cupcake, which was almost $7, and for that price I was definitely expecting more. The texture was honestly so strange. The outside was dry and crumbly, while the inside had this really dense, gummy/doughy texture. Somehow it was dry and doughy at the same time. There were actual pieces of peach in it, but I could barely taste any peach flavor. Overall, it just didn't have much flavor at all. I'm not sure if it was specifically the flavor I chose or if it's because I'm not really used to vegan baked goods. I can definitely appreciate that they offer options for people who are vegan, have allergies, or have certain dietary restrictions and still want to satisfy their sweet tooth. But for me personally, the taste and quality just didn't justify paying almost $7 for one cupcake. The customer service didn't really help the experience either. Since it was my first time, I asked the girl at the front what their best sellers were and what she recommended. I was genuinely trying to make conversation and get some guidance on what I should try, but she wasn't very helpful or engaging. It honestly felt like I was talking to a wall. Overall, it's a cute spot and I appreciate what they offer for people with dietary restrictions, but between the price, texture, lack of flavor, and customer service, it just wasn't for me.

The people who helped us were so friendly and made great suggestions as well. They had heaters on for the cool night for the few tables they have outside and it was comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed our experience and treats and will happily be back!

We shared a Double Dough and Darkest Chocolate together in a fresh waffle cone and it was so, so good. Did not get a picture because we ate it so fast! Easy parking, great service, delicious ice cream, and fresh waffle cones. Definitely 5 stars!

I sampled at least 4 flavors and they didn't seem too annoyed with me. My issue with Jeni's is primarily I think all of their ice cream across the board is too sweet (I know, it's dessert... I just really feel that dialing the sugar to 2/3 the amount would be perfect). All of the flavors I sampled would have been great. I ultimately ordered Buttercream Birthday Cake and Milkiest Chocolate, with the Buttercream Birthday Cake really pushing my boundary. Nonetheless enjoyable outing on a really hot July day. I'd go back to this location, bearing in mind it's not my favorite ice cream in the world. Also I must add, it's quite expensive. Buying for me individually, doesn't do too much damage, but for say a family of 4, this would be a pricey outing.

We tried two different flavors and I have to say that both of mine were delicious--really hard to pick which one is better! I went with the chocolate peanut butter cup and the dark chocolate, the two really complimenting each other very well. After hearing the backstory of the family that started the business, I would definitely put Cimmino alongside some of the gelato that I tried in Italy. Staff was friendly and while the space is unassuming, it was a perfectly fine place to hang out until venturing out into the desert heat. So why four stars instead of five? They don't do shakes and that's always my favorite way to enjoy gelato.

We sampled a few different flavors and ultimately went with a two-scoop cup of black sesame and ube (the main reasons I wanted to visit), plus a two-scoop cup of Blue Moon and peach. The black sesame had a very strong, rich flavor with a slightly grainy texture that I absolutely loved, you can tell they use real, high-quality ingredients. The ube was incredible and had that authentic, natural ube aroma. It's so hard to find ube desserts that don't taste artificial or rely on weird purple food coloring, but this one nailed it. My husband got the Blue Moon and peach, which were both super refreshing and perfect for summer. Best of all, none of the flavors were not too sweet! I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

A Nostalgic, Must-Visit Dessert Destination in Old Town Scottsdale…read more Our party of six visited the Sugar Bowl for dessert following a friend's birthday dinner. Upon our arrival, we were accommodated immediately and seated without any delay. The parlor features a wonderful, nostalgic aesthetic reminiscent of the late 1900s. Its menu is remarkably expansive, offering an impressive variety of options that goes well beyond what one might typically expect from a traditional dessert establishment. The service we received was patient and polite. While one of our table's orders was initially overlooked, the staff corrected the mistake instantly as soon as we brought it to our server's attention. As the name implies, the menu leans heavily into decadent, sweet treats; those looking for lighter or tart options like yogurt variations will find limited choices, but the indulgent selections are perfect for traditional dessert lovers. The surrounding neighborhood adds significantly to the appeal, offering an excellent Old Town atmosphere filled with art galleries, historic shops, and artifacts. If you are visiting the nearby Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), enjoying dinner in the area, or simply taking an evening walk, I highly recommend stopping by the Sugar Bowl for its unique historical charm and experience.

I considered several options in Phoenix area to review, but I decided to go with the iconic Sugar Bowl in Old Town Scottsdale. It's been in business since the 1950's and has been a staple for 7 decades in Old Town. The inside is 1890's decor of pink & white wallpaper/decor like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. They have a bar area and standard seating. I remember I first went here when I was in high school in late 90's/early 2000's. Ice cream was always top notch. I used to get the Buster Brownie, which was this big brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream, goeey marshmallow topping, whipped cream, & cherry on top. It was awesome! I loved that way back then. I got lunch there once or twice; pretty good sandwiches, but the real highlight is the ice cream. My most recent visit was in Jan. 2022 with my dad. We decided to pop in for ice cream. It was as delicious as I remembered.

By the end of the meal, not only were we glad we stayed, but it became one of the most memorable dining experiences we've had in a long time. The biggest reason for that was our waiter, Cru. Absolute professional. Personable, attentive, thoughtful, and somehow managed to make us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant despite how busy things were. Great service is easy when everything runs perfectly, but it's worth acknowledging that what Cru did was much harder. He completely changed the energy of the night through pure hospitality and effort. On top of that, his recommendations for food were spot on and exceeded our expectations. The food was outstanding, atmosphere was great, but the way the team handled adversity and recovered is what deserves recognition. Mistakes happen anywhere.
