From what I was told after receiving them, the presentation of the cookies was absolutely beautiful. Thank you Cake Shop for helping me brighten up someone's day. A Little Bite of Heaven Right Here in Gilbert!…read more Lisa's Rum Cakes has held a special place in my heart for quite a while now. A Gilbert original, and let me tell you, her rum cakes are absolutely unreal! Taking a bite of one of Lisa's cakes is like taking a little bite out of heaven. I'm not even exaggerating! Tonight, I placed an order fully expecting to hear that there was no way she could have it ready by tomorrow morning. Nope! Without missing a beat, she assured me she could make it happen. Not only that, she took the time to help me come up with ideas for what to write on the cake. That's the kind of personal touch you just don't find everywhere anymore. I can't say enough good things about Lisa and her incredible cakes. If you're looking for a cake that's truly out of this world, do yourself a favour and give Lisa's Rum Cakes a try. Gilbert is lucky to have this little gem. As for me, I'm a fan for life!

Now Lisa is at the helm and it has been a long time since I had the rum cake. Since I was in town, we decided to venture out to their location. It is located in an industrial park/office area so don't be alarmed if you don't see a fancy storefront. Inside, they have a small cake case with slices and cake pops to choose from as as well as as a small menu on the wall and then if you're there for other options, such as the Full cakes or catering items, you can have a seats and work with their team. Nothing has changed, except maybe the name. The flavor still as I remember. It holds a very special place in my heart. I was fortunate to bring my sister to share this experience and we bought quite a few slices to take back and share. I think the cake slices are amazing idea. Great sweet treat. They are also available for DoorDash if you're in the area. Amazing to see newer generations also discover Lisa's Rum Cakes. A classic strawberry rum cake is our favorite.

I was told that they were sorry ... and they would come and pick up the delivery. There was NO OFFER to do anything to the items. To be honest, the delivery person appeared to be so invested in the items that I questioned whether she was the owner/baker etc. She claimed not to be. I did not throw any items at the delivery person but did slam the door when the only statements were that she had to retrieve all of the items. Any online businesses must still provide a level of service ... especially when there is an issue.
