He reached out for a conversation before I came in and I knew I was in good hands. And then I was BLOWN AWAY by what he was able to achieve!! I had expected it would take a few visits to get there. Justin knows hair!! There is a science and an art to color, especially for those of us wanting dimensional color. Justin has both expertise and artistry!! I'm just delighted. I want to also mention that the salon itself is lovely. Spacious and airy, with a sweet back patio. I loved the art, too. The whole experience was uplifting! Justin is easy to talk to, the vibes are chill. I'm including before and after photos in hopes that my review might help someone else in a similarly desperate situation. You can trust Justin at Salon 1500!! He's awesome!!

Hair done by Masooda My experience here was very…read moredisappointing. My hair was 100% virgin hair and had never been dyed before. I naturally have dark brown hair, and I came in with an inspiration picture asking for an autumn copper-brown reddish color. They were very confident that they could make the color I wanted happen, which made me feel comfortable moving forward with the service. After the first round, she was already getting ready to send me home, but I told her I was not happy with the results because my hair barely looked different from when I came in. It stayed mostly the same dark brown, except for some patchy plum-colored areas. I paid $120 for that first service. After I explained that I was unhappy, she recommended bleaching my hair to get me closer to the lighter copper-brown reddish color I originally asked for. What bothered me was that before starting the bleach, she never told me she would also be doing another client's hair color at the same time. While the bleach was sitting in my hair, there was one point where she was away for about 40 minutes. I was so nervous about the bleach sitting in my hair that I actually started a timer myself because I did not want anything to happen to my hair. She was also leaving at other times in between for around 20 to 30 minutes while working on the other client. I really wish my hair had been monitored more closely throughout the bleaching process, especially because of how light it ended up becoming. Instead of the autumn copper-brown reddish color from my inspiration picture, I ended up with orange and blonde hair. I paid another $230 for the second service, bringing my total to $350. I am extremely disappointed that I spent $350, went through two rounds of color and bleaching on previously virgin hair, and still did not receive anything close to what I originally asked for. If you have naturally dark virgin hair and are looking to go lighter, based on my experience, I would definitely not recommend this place.

From the very first appointment, Rachel didn't just "do my hair", she assessed my scalp, educated me, and completely shifted how I care for my hair at home. She taught me techniques and recommended tools and products that actually made a real difference. For almost three months after that first visit, my hair stayed fresh, wavy, and healthy; and I noticed significantly less hair shedding than before. That alone was a game changer. At my most recent visit, she brought my hair back to life for spring and summer- reshaping it beautifully while still keeping everything natural and aligned with my texture. What stood out the most is how attentive and intentional she is. Her priority is truly the health of your scalp and hair. I never felt rushed, and she was so mindful to make sure my scalp felt good the entire time- no irritation, no discomfort, just 100% attention and care. Rachel listens. She educates. She elevates. As someone who specializes in skin and scalp wellness, I deeply value her approach. It feels so aligned to work with someone who truly understands that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. I left feeling confident, refreshed, and more connected to how to properly better care for my hair moving forward. What a difference being with a stylist who truly pay attention makes. If you're looking for someone who goes beyond styling and genuinely supports the health of your scalp and hair, Rachel is it. I'm so happy to be back in her chair.
