The breading was perfectly crunchy, the chicken was juicy, and the sides were great... especially the baked beans, which were a standout. The second night, I went with the patty melt and fries. Both were delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly, and the fries were crispy and flavorful. I usually have stomach issues when I eat patty melts, but I had no problems at all here, which says a lot about the quality of the food. On top of that, the staff was outstanding. We came in with a very large party, and they handled everything smoothly and professionally without missing a beat. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The rub at Peg Leg Porker was decent, but during our trip we tried another bbq restaurant called Martin's whose dry rub I prefer. The peach fried pie was solid, it reminded us of a toaster strudel. The service was quick as we got our food very fast. There is a lot of indoor seating and a good amount of outdoor seating as well. The noise level was moderate, which allows you to have a conversation with your party without having to yell. Once I passed and saw they were open and decided to get an extra pound of smoked pork from here as well. It has changed in a drastic way. the "smoked" pork now has an ever intrusive taste of liquid smoke, to the point we threw most of it away (that is a real bad sign at my house.)
