There aren't a ton of options in Linden, Tn but that's okay, because they have this gem of a place! We stopped in for the evening at the Commodore Hotel and jumped on yelp to find dinner places. This placed pulled up and we said "SOLD!" It was definitely the busiest spot in town. Which is always a good sign. When you walk in, you can tell that this is the place to be. Everyone knew everyone. You seat yourself and then receive menus. We were quickly greeted (dang it that's the one thing I didn't get, our server's name!) by the sweetest woman. She got us drinks and then we asked her what's the best on the menu. She said the catfish and pork chops were always a hit. The cafe originally was well known for its burgers. We just had burgers the night before so we wanted something different. We tried the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer (not the frozen kind from Walmart), my boys shared the hand breaded tenders with garlic bread, and green beans. The green beans....HOW did they get that much flavor in them?! I'm embarrassed thinking that I made good green beans after trying theirs. I need to sit down and take notes. The tenders were in fact hand breaded and looked great-my boys wolfed them down before I could taste one. We shared the regular catfish plate with 6 filets, beans, cole slaw, hush puppies and a baked potato with butter and sour cream. The catfish was done right! Good amount of breading, tender/flaky, not greasy. Beans and slaw were yummy as well. Let's talk about the star of this plate-the hush puppies. We got a combo of regular spicy and the spicy hush puppies have spoiled me. They were homemade and I could've eaten an entire platter of those alone. Everything was about $40, we left full and happy. As a foodie, it brings me great joy to find these places that are not food chains and their take on a food we have all eaten before. From the outside, you would never know that this is a restaurant except for the very large crowd. Once inside you understand why the crowd is large. One of our good friends told us that they have Tennessee River Catfish as a regular item, and it is really special. She was right. The breading is light and seasoned very well. Cooked to order, and served hot. The hush puppies are homemade, and are very well prepared. Not greasy at all. The white beans were just a little salty, but seemed to be made from scratch. As is the coleslaw. It had a little sweet kick to it, and unlike most of the slaw in the area, not overpowered by the touch of vinegar which is normal. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. Be careful ordering take out here. They didn't put a single topping we ordered on our salads including the MAIN topping that's fried chicken. We asked for extra ranch and the employee looked right at us and said "I got you". We drove 30 minutes home to discover not only were the orders not even close to what we specifically and slowly listed that we wanted on our salads, (which was super simple, four toppings only excluding the chicken) but they also had given us ZERO ranch while acknowledging to our faces that they were adding extra. They offered a dessert to try and solve the mistake, which in no way makes up for having to drive all the way back over such a large and obvious mistake, but we want our salads, so oh well. We have had little things like this happen before here, but it's typically just them not giving us ranch, or getting one topping wrong or adding something we didn't ask for, which isn't nearly as annoying as this is, and normally we overlook it because it's close enough. We couldn't do it this time with the entire order being wrong and missing stuff. I'm going to assume an employee was just having a bad day or something, because typically this is a fairly solid place with good employees, but this experiance was just too ridiculous for me to not say something about it. read more

Ample seating inside, nothing fancy. Super friendly staff in every area, whether in person or even on the phone. Ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, and it was so good that I ordered the exact same thing my next visit 2 days later! Great little place with good food and wonderful people. Great family cafe. Food is priced good. Ample seating. Friendly environment. Love the waitresses when we go in. My family goes in about twice a month. This past Sunday was the first time I had the hot fudge cake... and it was good. Can always strike up a conversation with someone here. Tonya is our usual girl, funny and has a good sense of humor. We had the new girl, Ashley, this past Sunday... it was her first day... and she was rocking it! It was super busy, moreso than normal... and she was just working fast and enjoying herself. We were lost oh wait exploring the Tennessee country side when hunger pains showed it's ugly face. Now what are the chances of getting some good food in the middle of nowhere. Wait this is Tennessee! We were no way interested in videos, but some how we knew they had food. This was almost a year ago , took me that long to figure out it was not the town of Clifton. We survived the lunch buffet it had all my favorites but I had a major problem. After ordering my wife Pointed out the daily special. Grilled pimento cheese sandwich. We were camping in the area and decided to give this place a try. What a hidden gem! My husband had the BBQ Bacon Burger with Tater Planks, and I had a cheeseburger with regular fries. We had never had Tater Planks (fresh cut potatoes fried with a light cajun seasoning) and we were pleasantly surprised at how good they were. We opted for single patty burgers and they were big, nice and juicy. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. We will definitely stop by again if we are in the area. read more

The Video Corner is a local institution has has been in the same location for years now. What a great one-stop-shop for a night in with the family. Get some very tasty take-out pizza and rent a movie (yes, they still rent DVDs...most of the county doesn't have broadband to support Netflix or Amazon Prime) to take home.
