The food was phenomenal. The staff were friendly, service was top notch. The only thing that wasn't there for me was the atmosphere. I'm fine with the owners political views. I'm left nor right, but politics are irrelevant when it comes to breakfast. I don't go to a breakfast joint for a lesson in politics. I go to breakfast for breakfast. I work in construction, I'm accustomed to political incorrectness. But leave that stuff for your tacky bumper stickers or signs outside your single wide. Just like I don't want to go to a diner peddling liberal politics with their waffles, I don't want to go to one making their eggs Benedict great again. The owner is allowed to whatever political views they want, and can display them any way they choose. Unfortunately, as good as the food and service was, I won't be returning here again. Great fast and friendly service. (I believe server was named Sierra). Food was fantastic and came quickly. Best chicken fried steak I've ever had and I've had many. Eatable breakfast but very greasy and bacon was burnt. Service was okay but I guess you need to be a regular. Strictly take the order and here's your bill. No "Hi how are ya doing today? " Just nothing. We aren't rude or gross and were surprised by the reception. Felt like we were intruding. They're in our area and we thought they might be a good option besides Denny's but we won't go back. Granted this was a couple years back but you know what? Denny's has some REALLY good dishes!! Basically cooked one side then flipped the uncooked side over a bed of unseasoned hash-browns. Sometimes in our travels we find a place we wish we could go to over and over again. Kelley's is one of those places! Service, food, prices and vibe were all over the top amazing! Please don't let the outside fool you, the inside is where all the magic is! From the very beginning it was obvious they are true and authentic! The lone server was busy with other customers so we were greeted by the cook! He was so friendly and inviting, told us to grab a seat and they'd bring us waters, menus were at the table. Giant menus!! Our server came in and was just as friendly and inviting as the cook! We felt at home right away, like we'd been there 100 times! Food was fantastic! I had the seafood platter and it was piled high with vein clogging goodness! The shrimp was the best part, these cute little crunchy, puffy morsels of heaven!! Hubby's chicken fried steak was humongous and he said it was the best he's ever had! We got strawberry shortcake to go and it was perfect later, sitting around the camp fire! The staff were friendly, and the food was pretty good - definitely a hometown diner style, nothing fancy, but still flavorful and filling. Just a word of forewarning though, the inside is quite aggressively decked floor to ceiling in political (pro-Trump) decorations - hats, shirts, signs, posters, even the salt shakers were hand labeled with political statements and FUs. So we wanted to go find a breakfast place that wasn't some big chain restaurant. Saw Kelly, we thought we'd give it a try. Immediately felt like an old-school trucker diner, and my mouth started watering immediately. It smelled like breakfast, and filled with the happy clinking of silverware and the murmur of conversation. Great ambiance. The poor waitress was swamped, there were a lot of people there and a pretty short staff, which seems to be pretty common these days. Can't hold that against them. She was prompt with the order taking, and the food came out in a very reasonable time. Unfortunately, the food left a little bit to be desired. I ordered corn, beef hash, thinking it would be like, I don't know, corn, beef, hash, and instead, it was store-bought hashbrowns with chopped corned beef sandwich meat in it. Was not the delicious dish perfected in a hundred other diners. My wife had a ham and cheese omelette which could be described as mediocre at best. I guess the worst part about the whole experience was when we were at the cashiers station to pay the bill, and I watched the cook rub his nose with his left hand, then reach over into a metal container and grab a handful of frozen hashbrowns, and then dribble them under the grill. he finished that task by wiping his hands on his dirty pants. We were bringing a special breakfast to family in the area & called an order in when we reached the outskirts of Olympia. It was ready shortly after we pulled up - having to wait only an additional 5 mins. The food was well packaged in to go containers. We had a great conversation with the cook (whose also one of the owners) since it was still early but the waitress pulled up to take my payment. We drive to our destination and had a wonderful filling breakfast. The portions were gigantic, the garbage omelet was flavorful, the gravy of the SOS was spot on. Grew up going here every weekend with my grandma Fran and grandpa Walt. I've been here twice since grandma passed away and it's still just as amazing as I remember growing up. Food portions are huge and taste amazing. Best chicken fried steak in Washington even though I admit my favorite thing to get has always been the chicken strip basket with old fashioned fries and the hot chocolate! I will continue to come back and now that my sons old enough he will eat here too. The staff treat you like family and greet you by name. Times are rough but it's worth saving every penny for! This is my happy spot that I go too when I need to feel close to my grandparents, and I want to make it my sons safe and happy spot too. read more

To be fair, it's greasy af behind that counter, but somehow the dining room stays relatively clean and not greasy. However, they aren't doing a damn thing fancy here at Kelley's and it feels like you're eating in your friend's kitchen, he might not be the tidiest cook, but he makes a mean omelet! My wife had the Western Omelet and it was loaded with veggies, ham, and cheese, it looked pretty delicious, but had too many veggies for my tastes, I like a simple omelet! Anyway, she said it was delicious and really enjoyed the seasoning on the potatoes! It was refreshing to order home fries and have them come with seasoning salt, garlic, and pepper on them. Delicious! I had the best chicken fried steak that I've had so far in the PNW, and they really did it right! Perfectly breaded, cooked medium, but not dried out, and the gravy was well seasoned and flavorful. They only lose a star because several of the dishes had chips in them. There comes a point when not caring about being fancy stops loses its character, they should really replace broken and chipped dishes. It's about food safety. Still, a delicious breakfast! First of all, it's Kelly's Kafe, both with K's. Ate here on our way to Paradise (Mount Rainier) with a familythat we're friends with. Went with my gut and decided that was the place to eat. Definitely got a taste of "real America", something us city slickers are unfamiliar with. Food was unbelievably good, mother thoroughly enjoyed her homemade veggie beef soup, I loved my french toast, portions on the omelettes were gigantic, while the omelettes were stuffed and delicous. Tons and tons of free refills on our beverages, and our waiter even volunteered to take a photograph of our group for us. Couldn't ask for a better experience. If you're in the area, stop at Kelly's. It was a cute hole in the wall place until I walked in and felt immediately unwelcomed. They have TRUMP 2020 signs everywhere and being a person of color walking into that place made me feel not welcomed. I go to a place to enjoy my food, not to see political things plastered on the front counter upon entry. My aunt, uncle and I sat in the back corner away from people, but we still got looks from those around us since we were the only colored people in the cafe. On top of it, we were neglected numerous times by staff but yet they could round on the other tables that had people at it. They never checked on us, and we had to go up to the counter just to get our check and boxes. There was only one friendly staff there and the rest came off rude and bitchy. Such an unassuming place. Went here with my husband and our children. Local diners are a like a rite of passage when we move to a new town. We love this place. Walked in, wasn't too crowded, sat ourselves and it just felt comfortable, like we walked into somewhere we'd been our whole lives. They quickly put our orders in and while we waited my kids devoured the hot chocolate w/ mountains of whipped cream. Waited for our food for what seemed like awhile but there are 5 of us so its expected but it was worth the wait; exceeded our expectation in portion and flavor. I am giving this place top marks. It was like eating breakfast at Grandmas house. Started out right from the start. I asked for Ice tea and they brought me a pitcher! Strong tea like it should be. Not that watered down stuff you get at most places. Then had Chicken fried steak and hash browns. They give you 2 nice size pieces cooked to perfection. Withplenty of gravy. The food was decent and they were nice enough but it's dirty and everything is broken- the seats (uncomfortable) the faucet (kids got soaked) and it smelled like cigarettes really bad. The server did forget to ask how people wanted their eggs so apparently that means leave them off your plate all together. My bf hunted her down and told her how he wanted his so he got some but the kids didn't get any.
