    Glass ring

We absolutely LOVE this place and stop in every time we are on the island. I have bought so much jewelry over the years from here as they have some very unique pieces you will not find anywhere else. We love the color changing glass jewelry and my husband has even ordered from here on line for Christmas presents to get me the matching necklace and bracelet. A few years ago I purchased a ring that was glass and looks like an opal. I received so many compliments on this as it practically glows. After years of wearing this nonstop it was finally getting so worn I had to get a replacement. Mimi was wonderful and was able to make one to custom fit in just a matter of a couple of days. All the glass pieces are just amazing in this shop you have to check this place out!

The pair of earrings I bought. Beautiful but no one could tell me if they were semi precious or glass.

Lela's glass gallery is located in Kauai, Hawaii, 1.5 miles from Kapaa Safeway on highway 56 (Kuhio Highway). This gem glass gallery is not to be missed. They have lovely glass sculptures, vases, bowls, platters and beautiful glass and semi precious jewelry. We always make sure to stop by on our way to Princeville. I usually find some jewelry to buy. This time was no different. I bought a beautiful pair of semi precious earrings. My only criticism is they could not tell me what stones were in the earrings I bought which seemed strange to me.

I was in Hawaii a few weeks ago and visited this business. Truly amazing works of art in the store. Fell in love with a sand art photo and purchased it. They packaged it up and I had it shipped through Kella's. It arrived about a week later damaged pretty badly. I contacted them and the next day they called me back and assured me that it was covered under insurance and had another one shipped immediately. When it arrived it was in perfect condition and order in the world has been restored.

My Halloween costume by Kela's beautiful jewelry.

This is an usual Halloween impacted by Covid19. Mahalo Kela's for making my costume a simple yet elegant one. We are staying home to watch Vincent Price and Hitchcock films and eat refined carbs. My costume is part of my Kela's collection . Mahalo!!

Love this place..! So did my wife when I surprised her with a "Color Changing" glass set of earrings, necklace, and bracelet!

Bought my wife a silver "color changing" glass set of earrings, necklace, and bracelet. She loved it! A bit pricey but you're on vacation!

Love this place, beautiful glass art and jewelry. I bought 4 pieces of jewelry today and bought one a couple of years ago. I tried so many pieces today and had my friends on FaceTime too so she could pick something up as well. A very friendly woman helped me today as I was going around the store trying things on by the window so we could see how the jewelry was changing colors. These pieces go for about $50/$69 for the earrings and between $80 to $180 for the necklaces. The chains are sterling silver.

Glass jewelry that changes color with a different background? Perfect x-mas gift for a niece. Favorite uncle status for another year. Oh happy day! Down side is that it is a little pricey for what you get. Life.

My bracelet, I just fell in love with it!!!

The…read moresign outside says "A Candy Store For Art Lovers", and is probably a better name for the laid-back Hawaiian art gallery within. I like art and always like to check out galleries when I am traveling. Bustling Kapaa is only good enough for a pit stop between the north and south shores in my opinion, so I was surprised to find a gallery here when strolling around looking for something to eat. The gallery has some beautiful Koi Fish paintings, which are probably the main attraction. The artist of most of them, Seamus, was in the store both times I went in there (and I got the impression he is there a lot) in case you have questions for him. I'm not into Koi although I know a lot of people are for the symbolism, but the Koi paintings (and other ocean/water themed works) are vivid in color and worth checking out if passing by. If you are into fantasy-type ocean scene paintings, the ones in this shop are on par with Wyland and much more reasonable in price! I'm not into Koi or fantasy-art, and ended up going for an abstract piece that resembled waterfalls, painted in blues/greens with gold leaf, on a piece of birch wood. Very beautiful and changes with the lighting. The store curator, Ray, is a flexible on price and delivery methods. I left feeling like I paid handsomely for the art, but I got a deal. Maggie had just viewed a ton of lovely local birds at the nearby Kilauea Lighthouse. There was calming feel to the Kong Lung shopping center. I spotted a lovely fountain and listened to the soothing sound of running water. Next to the fountain was the Lotus Gallery of Fine Art. I enter and breathe in a delightful scent. There is a sense of age in the wondrous artworks here. I saw many different jewels. So beautiful. Then I glanced upon silver turtles. Maggie placed them upon her neck and they sparkled in the mirror. From the look on her face I knew she was sold. Price was reasonable averaging $100/turtle. Shop owner was very helpful and knowledgable. While we did see live turtles from a distance in Poipu this is the tale of the origin of the 3 turtles Maggie has around her neck and her 2017 birthday present.

The outside mini garden complete with white Thai spirit house is so pretty, and in keeping with Thai traditions. However, when I noticed one Thai gold Buddha statue would set someone back $18,000, well, I decided I may be in the wrong shop. Perfect browsing for the hope-to-win the lottery set, or already minted millionaires, which makes sense since Kilauea is the home of many a newly minted tech millionaire --or really billionaire now, as the millionaire thing has become passé. Not to discredit, its not an easy feat to get Buddhist statuary out of Thailand, and requires jumping regulatory hoops (for good reason, to be sure you are not removing real antiquities of cultural significance) but shopping here is just not realistic for most mere mortals.

We've passed by this shop over a few dozen times over the years & decided to give it a go. The items are handmade from the Koa tree that is found in Hawaii. Candace was manning the shop & she was so friendly & welcoming. She even suggested a lady who might be able to create what we're looking for. This lady works from home & has a website (Tropical Isle Music). I love to support local businesses & Candace was so charming, I bought a couple of Aloha Hula girl ornaments & a pineapple (see photo) ornament. There's a few spaces for parking that it shares with Mankoa & a granola shack. It was lovely speaking with Candace, who I learned is actually half Filipino & half Japanese, born & raised in Kaua'i. Her grandfather was one of the first Filipinos who arrived from the Philippines to work in the plantations in Hawaii. It's always interesting to learn about people & their heritage. I'm very pleased with the experience & my purchases at this shop
