Well, we finally pulled the trigger on it and did the experience...and it was well worth it. Lance, the owner and instructor was fantastic. With only 8 spots available, you have to book this as soon as it is available. The shop is only 300 sq. Ft. So any more people would be too much and the set up was perfect. It is amazing this small space produces the chocolate! The overall lesson is great because he takes you from bean to chocolate. This is not tree to chocolate because he doesn't have the trees nor does he have the pods and that part of the collection process (however, Lance, if you or your wife are reading this, it might be a great future endeavor to have an option to work with one of your partners and add on the collection tour before!). While he doesn't have the collection process, Lance does an excellent job speaking to the process once beans are collected. From there, the chocolate making and tasting process is thoroughly explained and you are part of it. Finally, making your chocolate is a lot of fun and there are roughly 30 ingredients you can use for your 2 bars. I personally made: an Indian spice flavor chocolate for half a bar, coconut sea salt for second half, matcha coconut sea salt for 3rd half, and coffee bean sea salt for last). Bring your creativity! Thank you Lance for this fantastic experience.

Loads of quilt patterns, kits, and a good amount of already stitched souvenirs for purchase, too. I didn't have time for a class but there is a classroom in the back, too. All the supplies you'll need for any sewing project are there too. I enjoyed looking at all the Sashiko (Japanese embroidery) options, many cute buttons including some made out of coconut shells that I purchased to embellish my needlepoint finishes. The woman who helped was super sweet and patient with me as I would walk around and add items to my purchase. The prices seemed fair - a good balance because while it's a store that appeals to vacation stitchers like me, it's also clearly a spot that is well appointed for local stitchers, too, and that makes it a really lovely and well stocked place! A bonus is all of the signage is ADORABLE in the store. Quilted, embroidered, etc, just so cute! Will definitely be back next time. Mahalo! PS - if you're looking for needlepoint canvases you won't find them here. However, you're gonna need fabric to finish them! And you can find some of your supplies like thread conditioner, clips for finishing, travel snips, floss, beautiful zipper bags for your project, and the aforementioned buttons to embellish your projects so don't skip the store.

I especially adored the kids lunch boxes they had and definitely would've gotten one for my niece if she wasn't years away from needing one. There's a pretty big range for the price. For some, I was surprised they were more inexpensive than they looked. Others, my jaw dropped at the price tag. I ended up finding one shirt I really liked while browsing. Unfortunately, the size I needed wasn't available. It's definitely worth a stop and one of the better clothing shops in the area.

She proceeded to ignore me and my husband, until my husband went outside to wait for me allowing me time to enjoy shopping, as he was getting angry at the way I was being ignored. I had several items and put everything back as I was not going to support a business that did not welcome and treat local people with the same friendliness, welcome and Aloha she was showing tourists. Went across the street to Beachside Boutique and Salt & Sea that had no problems welcoming all shoppers and spent my money supporting local businesses that made me feel welcome and valued.
