We were shopping in town and came across this place. It was cool to watch them making stuff from outside, so we decided to step inside and check the place out. Lots of cool items for sale. I was tempted to buy a glass guitar pick but they're slightly thicker than I like to use, haha. We met Kyle & his staff during one of the hardest times of our lives... We lost an amazing soul named Kailon in February 2025. He was loved by so many & we all struggled with his loss & how to best honor his legacy... Kailon was the kind of human that made an impact on random strangers. Such an awesome funky little glass shop right off the highway in Kapaa. Drove past this shop on my way back from Haena state park. Noticing they did in-house glass blowing I was immediately intrigued and made a point to check them out a few days later on my trip in Kauai. I'm SO happy I stopped by. The guy that helped me made my piece the day prior and was super kind and helpful. The glass feels thick, quality and could tell was hand made. A girl was blowing pieces in the shop as I looked around and they had tons of really cool hand made pieces to choose from. I chose a little bubbler dab rig with some awesome color swirls and a jet percolator, The price was reasonable for a handmade piece... and it had a lot of personality if you will.....honestly I was expecting it to be a little more so I was quite pleased or I'm just used to California prices lol. Anyways I got the piece back to my room where I had my enail set up and wow does this thing rip. Incredibly satisfied with my purchase and this was BY FAR the coolest glass/ smoke shop I've ever been too....And I live in the Bay Area where they are a dime a dozen. The Glass Shack is a great place to stop in and see some local craftsmanship, in-action. They have tons of artisan made glass creations to choose from, and the best part is....you can stand there and watch someone actually make something out of glass. When we stopped in, they were making glass beads, with flowers inside of them. Just amazing to see someone do this live. My 7-year-old was well entertained by the craftsman in-action. They have a great viewing location with a safety window to see them do their craft. I took a picture of him making a flower, and posted it here to Yelp for others to enjoy. If you are driving thru Kapaa, it is a great place to stop off along the way to wherever you are going. read more

The state of Hawaii has no shortage of lame craft offerings. The Glass Shack in Kapaa on Kauai is a real exception. Andy, one of the partners and an awfully nice young man, took a break from his work blowing glass and walked me through some really unusual and singularly beautiful art glass jewelry and sold me (2) pieces, necklaces I'm looking forward to giving as gifts. Visited this store looking for some nice local glass. They had a few neat individual pieces that were well-crafted, thus the two stars. Service was awful. There's Hawaiian time, and then there's this place. We wanted to look at some of the glass work that was on the countertop cases, but the guy behind the counter was too busy talking to his friends over the counter. Every "excuse me, can we look at that" was met by a "be right with you." We left after 20 minutes of this routine. They apparently don't need to sell anything to stay in business. Nice to see that someone else at least got a personalized walk-through of the glass blown here.... read more

We live here on Kauai for ten years but never had been in Glass shack. I heard they blew glass custom made and I needed a very specific and unique gift that my niece requested back in the mainland and i have to say i was amazed at the creative and artistic work they have created. Theyhave alot of stuff on display and the 100's of different things they have made out of glass, i didnt even know could be made out of glass was mind blowing. I was pleased with the friendly personable service and the glass creation was priceless my niece loved it. I will definitely return when i neddd something again. I came into the shop hoping to score a local, handmade glass piece of art that was something I could cherish for a LONG time and take back to the mainland. This shop was everything I hoped for and more. Andy helped me out and was a really nice guy and I could tell that he and the other guys in the shop had such a passion for what they do day in and day out. I got exactly what I wanted, a unique work of art that I absolutely love that I can love for years to come. These guys are the best, and there's no other shop around that has the unique, cool pieces and passion like these guys at the shop. Visisted the Islands for 2 weeks and while on Kauai we found an awesome local glass gallery/ real functioning studio where you can actually watch them blowglass! My wife had a custom keychain made looking like a fish! All sorts of cool functional art glass made this one of our one stop shops on Kauai to help unwind as soon as landing! My wife and I met the owner Kyle on a ziplining adventure while vacationing on the island of Kauai. He encouraged us to come check out his business and we were not disappointed! You can watch him perform his skill and they have a lot of handmade pieces at decent prices. We got my mom a beautiful glass ring, a little charm and a lovely little perfume dropper, all for about 70 bucks.
